This is a follow-up to a previous review of this business and its owner, Buck Carson. The text of his email speaks for itself: «I disagree with you that our company should have called you before the repair to tell you that we were not going to use your shipping label(which we did not see in the box). If the shipping label was enclosed, we still would not have used it, nor would we have called you to tell you so. We have company policies, one of which is that we use our shipping account to ship units back to customers. If your using us for the repair was to be determined on us using your label, it was your responsibility to have asked us this before sending the monitor in for repair. Once you send the monitor in for repair it is subject to our company policies. I am amazed that you would be so insistent on this point. We billed you $ 13.55 for the shipping. You have now told us twice to use your label and to redo the invoice, after telling you that this is not our company policy. Their is no longer a working relationship between our company and you, and we do not trust that you will do what you say. Because of your attitude — We will no longer accept your credit card and will only accept a cash or Western Union money transfer payment. We will hold the unit for you for two weeks, if payment is not made by then the unit will be moved to a longer term storage area and storage charges will accrue at $ 10 per week, after 30 days the units will be sold for charges. You are not personally allowed on the premises nor are you to call the office, all correspondence should be done by email. I do not understand your demanding attitude and why you would think that you can tell another company how they are to conduct their business. We did a good job for you in a timely and economical manner. It is your job to understand a company’s policies and for you to ask upfront for exceptions, you did not do this. Buck Carson, President Monitor Depot, Inc» You’re darn right I didn’t pay for the repair after Carson made his little Nazi-style demands. Found a used monitor on eBay for less than half the cost of the repair.

Great service & informative website. I brought my monitor for repair two weeks ago. It was 3 years old. The owner was helpful & very knowledgeable; he said he’d repaired tens of thousands of monitors and could repair about 90% of them successfully(his website is great). I paid $ 97 for a 22 inch monitor and was able to pick up the monitor within the week.(For smaller monitors, the price is between $ 50 – 75). The shop is located on the north side of Houston on the Sam Houston Tollway, right across from the racetrack.(Exit Bammel and go north). it is easy to find. My only complaint(if it can be called that) is that it’s open only M-F 9 – 5. If it were open for half a day on Saturday(for example), it would be much easier to drop off/pick up. The website gives instructions for shipping it there, but that seems like a hassle especially if you are in Houston. According to the owner, monitors typically last 3 – 4 years these days. After you repair them, they will last another 3 years more. In my opinion, it is far better to repair it locally(so the dollars stay in Houston) rather than buy a new one at Walmart or Best Buy(so the dollars go to some Chinese factory).
