This ain’t no candle light, soft music, smells like little India kinda place. Nope — this is you’re going to learn the poses from the very beginning and you’re going to take baby steps until you are ready to move deeper! Sarah will stop you if you cheat — oh yes — she’ll call you out! Even as someone who has practiced for a long time(inconsistently) — Sarah is great about really showing you the pose, helping you move in and out correctly, even adjusting you when you need it. She will push you too — when you’re ready! Its light hearted, fun and intense all at the same time! Sarah is funny, motivating and wants you to succeed. If you’re a newbie — TAKETHISCLASS. If you’ve been doing yoga for a while and never had an instructor who goes into details about the poses and come over to adjust you — TAKETHISCLASS. It is great and I’ve had lots of instructors! I would recommend this to anyone what was interested in or has been doing yoga!

I am not a yogi… I am merely a guy trying to improve his balance, flexibility, and overall health, so I can’t really comment on how one yoga practice is preferable to another or anything like that. What I can comment on is how great the yoga class is at Creatures of Yoga. Firstly, as most reviewers have noted, Creatures of Yoga is located in a small studio on the second floor of Texas Rock Gym, so you have to be okay with the idea of yoga in a climbing gym, though I can assure you that inside of the studio I have never been able to hear the gym outside. I really enjoy going to yoga with Sarah because she keeps it fun and light while at the same time making you feel like she genuinely cares about your fitness and practice. She is very hands-on and focused to help ensure that you safely enter poses and that your form is correct whilst you are in any given pose. I appreciate this kind of personal commitment to my well-being. If you are looking for an old-school class or don’t like interesting and often funny banter from your classmates and instructor, then you won’t like Creatures. Creatures of Yoga is tough — each class is roughly eight to ten poses held for anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes. Sarah always has an interesting«challenge pose» picked out, letting you try things like«the Crane pose» and headstands. I think that the pace of the class is nice and Sarah’s focus on held poses is very good, particularly for beginners like me. I have been to a couple of other yoga studios where they do poses quite rapidly in sequence, and the beginner is often left unsure of whether they are doing it right or not, and I believe that this can build bad muscle memory and possibly even be dangerous. In short, Sarah is a great instructor and Creatures of Yoga is a great place to get into a healthy yoga practice!

I originally came across Creatures of Yoga through a Groupon that I had purchased and am so glad that I did. I must admit, the first time I attended I was not impressed by the parking or the stench inside the Texas Rock Gym(don’t worry, there is no odor inside the yoga studio upstairs and depending on the class there is no trouble parking either) but Sarah is an amazing instructor. I tried several yoga studios before attending my first class with her and was impressed with her style of teaching. Her passion for yoga, love for teaching, and warm(and funny) personality immediately come through. She is very hands on(which gives you the comfort of knowing that you are actually doing the poses correctly) and helpful. Classes are small and personal, which I like. Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to try yoga or for a new studio!

Today is my 1 year Yogi-versary with Creatures of Yoga! I still stand by my 1st review that Sarah is amazing! This is unlike any yoga studio you will ever attend, TRUSTME. We actually have fun in our class and Sarah is hilarious, caring, inspiring and amazing. I have learned so much about what my body can do. I went in unable to touch my toes and now I can do all sorts of bendy things. We have fairly small classes still, which is great because you get 1 on 1 attention if you need it. Sarah is always willing to help you push yourself to the next level, and stand by you as you achieve your goals. I don’t think I could ever go to another studio! Creature for life!

I really like Sarah as an instructor; she keeps the classes small(15 people or less), and gives you the individual attention to fix your posture and form to reap the full benefits. She also is really funny, and generally a nice person to learn from. The classes are held on the second floor of the Texas Rock Gym, so it smells a bit of feet; but no one can help that. There are Beginner/Intermediate & Intermediate/Advanced classes held almost everyday(2x a day on the weekdays, once on Saturdays; no classes Sundays). I got a Groupon for classes, but Sarah often offers a deal of her own on a monthly(?) basis, so don’t freak out about the prices you see online.

Sarah is an awesome instructor! She goes at a good pace and will be there to correct your posture so you get the full benefits of yoga! There are Beginner/Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced Hatha yoga classes taught pretty much every day. If it’s your first time there, it’s on the 2nd floor of the Texas Rock Gym. Make sure to bring your own yoga mat and water and prepare to get totally relaxed… Namaste!
