Their menu is so varied that first time I came it was difficult for me to choose something. I asked for help and the workers described some dishes I was interested in. Since that time I came there with my friends and alone for breakfast. I ordered different salads, soups, sandwiches, everything was tasty. The service is fine and the prices are not high. I do not like their parking, quite often it is difficult to find a place for my car. Croissant-Brioche is always clean and I like it very much. Only one time I did not like the atmosphere in the bathroom, it was a bit dirty.

Here you are going to find a few tendentious words on this tiny café named Croissant-Brioche. I used to come here when I was in High School. I haven’t noticed any changes since that time; they still offer nice coffee and desserts! I have some complaints about their service, well it’s can be hardly called complaints, it’s more like frustrated expectations. I was going to a restaurant, but forgot that it was a café. However, their croissants are incredible and I would come to get more in near future!

Went here with my husband for dessert and coffee. The fruit tart my husband ordered was on point. Not too sweet and packed with tons of fruit. The balance of more fruit than custard was good. The décor is rather simple, but it plays into the café’s rustic feel. We enjoyed our visit and will be back!

Solid! It has everything you need in therms of european breakfast. Cappuccino, croissants, cakes, baked bread etc. The location is perfect since it is located in the Rice village. Therefore you can have breakfast there before starting you shopping activities. There are table everywhere inside and few of them outside, in front of the shop. The atmosphere feels relaxing, especially when you decide to seat outside. Inside instead the place feels small and crowded. I’m not a big fun of their pastries but every drink they make is delicious, except for the espresso. I’m italian, therefore the american coffee is not even in the equation and any espresso taken outside of Italy is not good(I’m sorry, we have sort of hidden rules and I don’t want to loose my italian citizenship by breaking them: P).

Best of the best in Houston. Coffee, pastries, and cakes. Oh my. Been coming here for almost a decade. It gets packed on weekend mornings, but you can get it to go and hang out at nearby Sunset Blvd park(you still have to drive there). Dog-friendly, family-friendly. It’s a small café but definitely worth the wait and hassle. Also, the line goes fairly quickly.

I really like this little café. My boyfriend and I stopped in and ordered some pastries while we were here. There was a big crowd and this little shop is pretty small so it can only house about a few groups of people. The service is very friendly and the line moves fast. TIRAMISU I really like that the tiramisu is creamy and moist. It wasn’t overly sweet and you could really taste the different layers of the cake. ECLAIR This éclair was a bit too sweet for me, but I like that it wasn’t too hard or chewy. It had a nice texture to it when you bite into the crisp exterior and you get the creamy filling. I would come here again for sure if I’m in the area. I would like to try their coffees next time around and their other pastries.

Best pastries in town. Don’t miss the chocolate éclair. Great quiche, wonderful soup and best cappuccino in town.

This review is super biased because this is the little café in Rice village that I used to go to often back in undergrad to get coffee. They remain just as good in terms of the deserts and drinks they offer. Service… eh not so much. They were never really great at that but after all it is more of a café than a restaurant. If you go with the right expectations you will enjoy it more. They have two tables outside as well for those who would like to enjoy the weather. The almond croissant is a must try! They tend to run out of it relatively quickly though, just FYI.

Came on a Sunday afternoon, the place was quite full but we luckily found a table in the corner by the window. I loved the ambiance, despite the number of people, the noise level was low. I ordered a latte and shared a fruit tart with a friend. The latte was good and came with cute foam art. The tart was good, but not great. While the custard was smooth and not overly sweet and the fruit fresh – including the mango – the crust was a disappointment. It was way too hard. Instead of shortbread I would say it was more like short-brick, which resulted in part of the tart landing out of the plate when I tried using my fork to break off a piece. I’m wondering if this is because the crust had been out too long… but otherwise the tart was alright. Service was prompt and cordial and I didn’t have any problems otherwise! I look forward to visiting another time and trying a different pastry.

I just had to say– this is the second best croissant I have had in the US. They were out of almond so I settled for a chocolate… Which was amazing. It was perfectly crispy and buttery and chewy and soft. I was so happy that I decided to stop in since I’m not really a fan of sweets. Very good baguette too, I will definitely be back for an almond croissant the next time I am in town.

If you’re looking for a local Parisian retreat this is it. I came here for a quick breakfast. If I had had more time I would have lingered. Orders are taken at the counter then you seat yourself. I ordered an Americano which was delicious, a fresh baked, buttery croissant and the smoked salmon quiche. I sat down to start on my croissant and coffee before my quiche was ready. The quiche was brought to my table about 10 minutes later. I came on a Sunday around 10:30am. It was busy, and got busier while I was there. I would definitely return.

Bakery? Cute. Apricot Danish? Good. Cappuccino? Good. Service? The worst. My boyfriend and I gave our orders to different people, because the person that took my order didn’t understand that we were together. When we tried to pay together, they made it seem as if that was the worst, most horrible thing ever. Shouldn’t have been a big deal at all. They were unpleasant and grumpy. And they made me grumpy and totally dissatisfied with the bakery. Won’t be back.

Nice little French café in Rice Village. It’s a good go to place for a quick brunch or coffee with friends. Food and coffee is good, nothing spectacular though. I never really see it busy here which is kind of nice so you don’t have to wait in a long line or wait for a table. What I ordered: — Turkey and swiss croissant sandwich — Café mocha

I went to Croissant-Brioche for the first time today, I have to say it was so-so, it kinds of reminds me of La Madeleine just with more sandwich options and less of everything else. I had the ham and cheese sandwich with a small caesar salad, the salad was good, the sandwich tasted good too but they put way too much ham, it kept falling out whenever I took a bite and they could have done without putting so much lettuce either, the baguette was a little hard too. The restaurant/bakery itself is rather small and being that today was Sunday was very busy and noisy, they do have a few tables outside but all were taken! All in all this place is not great nor terrible, they are priced reasonably too, maybe I’ll give this place another shot and go back to try one of their desserts.

This is a nice, little French café to go to for a quick bite(quiche, salad, soup, sandwich) and coffee. They also have some pretty nice desserts like cakes, pastries, and cookies. What to order: –Caffè Mocha Coffee(they use real chocolate flakes) –Cream of Potato Soup(if they have it for their soup of the day, it’s amazing) Pros: –Atmosphere with the local Houstonians –Quality Cons: –Men’s bathroom does not lock –Parking is quite difficult

Croissant-Brioche has somewhat of a cult following in Houston, proclaiming authentic French pastries and excellent coffee. And my face was more than a little red upon having to admit to my friend that it was my first time here. A well-located locale, the corner café is perfect for when you are in Kirby/West U for errands and need a cuppa in an informal setting. The wooden beamed ceiling and the pastel green chairs astride long tables make for a comfortable surrounding. The effect is one simulating the European flavor of perhaps a less cosmopolitan café aloofly placed in a quaint Southern French township. With potted plants and agriculturally themed pottery lining the perimeter overhang, simplicity is key. There is something quite pleasant here, with the blasé cashier and the laid-back clientele from every walk of life. The croissant was fine, nothing compared to what I had in France and the coffee was good, but it didn’t inspire me to hop on the next AirFrance flight. The prices were definitely in line with Europe; that was spot on. It got very crowded very quickly shortly after we got here, and I felt a bit rushed as the people filed in in droves. That being said, I know I will be back between visits in the area and I have a whole counter of pastries to try. I think it’s going to be a grower.

I come here usually when I go to work in Rice Village on Saturdays and when I actually have some money to spare. I always get the Salmon Croissant and add mayo, cheese and onions. I’m not sure whether it’s the croissant or the salmon itself, but the sandwich is sooo tasty and fresh that it makes me come back all the time. It’s a bit costly for $ 9 and a kind of medium sandwich, but somehow it’s that good. Heck, I tried to emulate it at home since it was such a simple sandwich but mine tasted only so-so. I also got the coffee latte a couple times, and it has a pretty good taste to it. Atmosphere is small and can be packed with a lot of people. I usually get my order to go. The staff there looks bored, but nice enough, and all of them gets their job done well. The pastries there all looks so beautiful and tasty, but I haven’t got one in a while since the salmon sandwich eats a chunk of my money. I also like admiring the trays they serve on as they have different designs. Parking is a bit difficult in Rice Village but don’t park on the Fedex spots with the signs because they will tow. The price is a little high but the taste of the food items are worth it. Probably will head there next Saturday!

This Rice Village Institution has been serving fresh croissants(try the almond!) and excellent coffee, pastries, sandwiches, desserts & quiches. It is a bit pricey($ 4 and up) for the pastries but the ambience is quaint and authentic. The Croque Monsieur is excellent! FYI they always have a free copy of the NY Times
