Food is very good. Bartender knows the difference in beer types and has great recommendations! Would go back!

Great atmosphere. Outstanding happy hour. Food is about 5 steps above normal barfood. Staff is great. Hands down great place to hang out on nice day.

Bri was not the best bartender in my experience. My first time to Texas and Doc’s.I never knew racist and bigotry was so alive in the south. HELLO! It’s 2016.

Realized today that I forgot to write a review for Docs. The atmosphere is fantastic and they have a dog friendly patio which is always a plus! Docs is always clean and the staff is always super friendly. I have not eaten here yet but plan to soon! It’s hard to find a good place to watch and game and be able to order a nice bottle of bubbles!

Doc’s hits it dead on with my liking for atmosphere and décor; gearhead memorabilia with a side of 38 Texas brews on tap, it’s a win-win, at least for this girl! There are daily specials, great happy hours, and late night foodie hours too. I keep telling myself I want to visit their Monday Steak & Shake night $ 12.99 with also 25oz big beers at $ 4.50. Foods been good in the two times I have visited. On my recent trip I opted for the Fried Chicken Stuffed Avocado $ 11.99 — Fried avocado stuffed with our chicken mix & cheese topped with tomatillo cream sauce. Served with rice & refried or black beans. This was a huge plate to my surprise, and delicious. Complimented my food with 8th Wonder Rocket Fuel $ 8 followed by a single Jack & Diet(my ultimate long time friend). Service has been on point each visit, quick consistent, personable! Lots of TVs to catch the sports of your liking and very spacious seating arrangements to accompany all party sizes.

I’m a fan for their happy hour only because it goes until 8 pm while most places are done at 7 pm. They have a pretty good selection of appetizer on their happy hour menu although nothing is mind blowing. The standard bar food but a good enough selection for a group of people to choose from. They also have a great selection of Texas beers on tap. My real problem with this place was the service. Our waitress never came around to check on us. We were the ones that constantly had to get her attention whenever we needed something. Getting the bill took us probably 45 minutes as we couldn’t seem to find her or get her attention.

Great for Monday’s half priced burgers. Service is the worst in Montrose. I only come here for the burgers on Monday. Here on Tuesday night and I offered the Happy Hour cheese fries and substituted Sweet potato fries and the up charged me from 6.00 to 11.00. When I asked to speak to the manager they told me she was too busy in the office. We have been going there weekly. Done.

Waited until after I had been here three times before reviewing. Wanted to see if they were consistent. They are. They have great happy hour food and drink specials that go on until 8pm! The food is terrific. The only thing that has not been above average is the queso. The sliders, burgers, Austin egg rolls, fries, beer selection. All outstanding. Great atmosphere and an even better staff. The staff goes above and beyond what you would normally expect. They want to be there. You can’t go wrong here. Tons of TVs and great beer and food. Great place. Go here.

I had never been here before — I was taking someone out to lunch for their birthday and let her pick the place. It was an overcast but pretty day so we sat on the patio. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly without being cloying. My friend had the blackened jalapeño cheddar burger and substituted sweet potato fries for«normal» fries. I had the grilled chicken power bowl, which consisted of of brown rice, grilled chicken, avocado, pico de gallo and black beans. My meal was exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price. Great value — in fact, my doggie bag will be today’s lunch! Their beer selection also is extensive and reasonable — and includes 2 daily specials at $ 2.00 a beer. If you’re looking for someplace casual with good beer and great food, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Sunday Funday eats. The place used to be an auto shop so you see wide doors that they keep open. They have your basic bar food and a decent selection of alcoholic beverages. South Congress Eggrolls: one question, where’s all the chicken that we ordered? When we cut into it, half of the eggroll was cheese… Pretty basic item. Cheese and chicken.(2⁄5) Pork Carnitas Nachos: pulled pork, a lot of goat cheese, black beans and onions on top of a circular chip. Makes it hard to share. The flavor was decent, nothing special.(3⁄5) Nachos: just like the pork carnitas but with beef. I prefer normal smaller chips because I felt like the tortilla was too thick for the item.(3⁄5) Would I come back? Eh. If I was at royal oaks across the street and wanted some food. But it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Went to this place for the first time this week and was overly impressed! Parking was easy and the place was not crowded at all. Can you say $ 5 wing baskets?!? The wings had the right amount of sauce on them and they weren’t too mild or too spicy. The onions rings were enough for two people and were thick with the right amount of crispy. Our server was great and was very attentive. I forgot her name but she even informed us of an app called«Tabbed Out» that allows you to receive discounts on your tab at that very moment. Overall I will become a regular and hope to be back soon!

We’ve been here a few times now and as far as a bar & grill go, I really like this place. I love how casual it is amidst it’s trendy neighbors. Parking: check Off the street, big lot, never had an issue finding a spot! Service: check Our servers have always been great! Friendly, fast and always happy to help us out! Atmosphere: check Casual and laid back. Kind of a icehouse feel to it. Sit inside the air conditioned, industrial space and watch a game or move it on outside to grab a seat in the shade or sun. Best of all for me is this patio is tricked out dog friendly. A dog station with bowls and water all for your four legged friend! Drinks: check Everything I’ve had here is good. From the Bloody Marys, the Micheladas or one of the many other cocktails or great beers on tap. You’re sure to find something to tickle your taste buds. Food: well, I haven’t had much, but… The chip, salsa and queso are great! So is the guac! Run out chips before you hit the bottom of the bowl of house made salsa — no problem, they’ll bring you more!

This two star review is based on not two things: 1) The noise level 2) The average food We should have known when we walked up on the patio to go in and could hear the chatter and music from there, it was going to be too loud for these two middle aged bar and grill lovers. Look if noise doesn’t bother you and you love yelling over the other people yelling over the people next to them… then this place is gonna be fine for you. If you are like us and want to be able to hear the person sitting across the table from you then find another place to get some below average food. The South Congress Egg Rolls that I read were tasty were deep fried chicken and cheese bites that had little flavor and were just that — shredded chicken and cheddar cheese rolled up in a tortilla like shell and deep fried. Rice was ok… black beans were pretty tasty and there was a little bit of pico and some sour cream. As bar food goes they were a 5 out of 10. A little more something in the«egg rolls» would have been a good start. Nachos — half order. Were actually 3 small tostadas and some jalapenos. 3 out of 10. Beer selections seemed pretty decent. The menu on the table is not complete and if you want to see the real good beers they have on tap walk to the bar and look, Even though I had a decent St Arnold, I wish I had because they have some good beers from 8th Wonder and Ft Bend Brewery that WASN’T on the table menu. I would have much preferred one of these — the 8th Wonders you can’t buy at Spec so I always get one when I find a place that has them on tap. Parking is small and the streets there are crazy corners. They had a lovely patio along Westheimer. This place should be a 3 or 4 star joint — the service was terrific and the TVS are everywhere for sporting events! But the noise level and subpar bar food tells me I’ll be going back to my regular bar and grills instead.

A great place to drink. An even better place to drink with a large group of friends while bar hopping around Montrose. Service is pretty quick even during those high volume nights. Love the seating situation and wall to wall TV’s. My biggest problem with the place is the food. I really wish they toasted the buns on the burgers and sliders. I mean is it so hard? Use more real cheese and less processed box stuff? The cheese fries were drowning in it. I don’t think I’m gonna eat here for a long while. I anticipate middle of a nice day football watching in the fall over cold ones.

Great bar for happy hour! Came here about a week ago to watch the Rockets game and luckily was able to grab an outdoor table for our party of 8. This place gets packed on sporting days! There are a bunch of TV’s inside and if you’re able to find a good spot outdoors, you can view the TV’s out there as well. Pro’s: –Happy hour on weekdays from 3pm-8pm! Most other happy hours in town end at 7pm — Different happy hour specials everyday — Half priced appetizers after 10pm everyday! — Great selection of Texas beers on tap — All day breakfast — Dog friendly outdoor patio with complimentary dog water bowls — They have a big Jenga set that you can play with a group of friends Food is alright, typical standard bar food… nothing that really blew me away. I got the mini burger sliders which were ok and the onion rings which were greasy. The chicken fajita quesadillas were pretty good. I also tried the buffalo hot wings which were not spicy at all. Service was ok, we were warned by our server that food usually takes forever to come out on crowded game nights so we were glad for the heads up. We were also appreciative of our patient waitress who let us split the check 8 ways at the end of the night. I will definitely return here with my pups for their chill outdoor patio and great happy hour specials.

Bailey — our server — gets a gold medal in hospitality. She handled our group of 30+ people — all jerkfaces paying with separate credit cards — and Bailey didn’t miss a beat on drinks, food orders, tabs … high five, lady. I’m glad that my friend’s birthday bar-hopping took us to Doc’s. Six months open and I still hadn’t checked out this ridiculously spacious sports bar and grill. Things to love: — Patio — Bike racks — Full food menu with burgers, sliders, salads, and hearty bar bites like jalapeño poppers, chicken fried avocado which nearly every review mentions, frito pie, loaded fries. I mean, for real. I gained a pound on apps. — TVs galore make it a great spot for game day — Numerous happy hour specials through the weekend — Um, right now they’re giving away a bike each Tuesday courtesy of Blue Line Bike Lab — Titos Vodka and Patron on tap. Necessary? No. But a unique novelty that most bars don’t have.

Still a work in progress as their service is painfully slow(took about 20 minutes for my drink to arrive) but they seem like a friendly bunch and the bar has a magical thing that’s rare in the Montrose area — parking. They also give a bike away on Tuesdays — no shit, an actual bike. This is more of your modern patio bar type of setup with big garage doors so if you want to compare it with the old Montrose that long time Houstonians loved and appreciated, you’d be disappointed, but if you’re one of those O&G yuppies who moved to Houston a couple of years ago and think you own the Houston nightlife, then this is probably what you would expect. It’s nice, but it kind of feels out of place in Montrose in my old man opinion. I’m sure I’ll go there again at some point but I won’t go out of my way to go there as it’s just kind of a typical bar without much of a personality yet.

Enjoy the latest Austin import to the Westheimer strip! Doc’s kept the vibe low-key: open-table seating, roll-up doors during outdoor weather season, top-notch TV situation for sports. Overall, fast turn-around on well-made drinks. The craft Texas beer selection is high-quality, along with your standard domestics and imports — important for when you’re not feeling fancy and just want an ice-cold Miller Lite. The only knock on the place is the mandatory $ 5 valet. Ugh. I hate that, even if it is a City of Houston requirement for the valet. I’ll have to stick to my bike or my two legs for my next visit.

First off, any place that blocks off their whole parking lot for a forced $ 5 valet annoys me. The whole lot was empty! Be ready to pay that price tag or find street parking. Service was great, thanks to the attentive service and changing tvs to what we wanted to watch. They have a lot of tv’s in there with different games on and that was what I was looking for. Place fills up fast before the start of a game so get there a bit earlier if you want a table w/a good tv view. The chairs were unique, they actually used barrels for you to sit, but has no backing. Food wasn’t anything to rave about. I got the specialty fish & chips that came with three pieces of oily battered fish w/fries and cole slaw. I would try something else out if I go there again.

I suppose all the fab reviews about this newest bar in Montrose will taper down and people will come to their senses. My experience here was just blah on a slow Thanksgiving evening. I came with a friend just before 7pm because it was one the few places in the area serving food. The server mentioned the daily specials and so we took advantage and ordered 2 baskets of the wings. We also had a well drink and the famous bloody mary. I didn’t think either of them were all that special. We tried the Asian style and the Buffalo style wings, and i thought the Asian ones were far better. I also ordered the grilled fish sliders since it wasn’t quite 8pm by then, and these were just not that good. They use Pangasius fish, which the server explained was a vietnamese tilapia, but they are actually related to a catfish. To me they tasted worse than a tilapia or catfish and were obviously pre-frozen with way too much salt added before grilling. The entire time, our server was picking up my slightly used napkins from the table faster than he was replenishing them, so that was a bit annoying. I probably won’t be back for the food, maybe for the drinks though.
