Yes! This place is so delicious… the actual local reminds me of El Salvador and the food was so good. We had the pupusas revueltas, tamales, and platanos con frijoles y crema. All was really good. Definitely going back regularly for my dose of home cooking.

Definitely a hole in the wall place but I loved it. Everything was delicious. Make sure you have the cabbage and all the sauces they bring you. Beers on the porch with great food was a fantastic way to blow through an afternoon.

I live kinda close to this place and my girlfriend wanted to check it out so we came here with our friend Henning. Henning said her dad had been here and said it was good and even though I couldnt read most of the signs of the surrounding businesses, I believed him. White people not being able to read signs is an indicator of good food nearby. Ok so the food was tight. We got Plate #1(x2) and a Plate #4. It was black beans, some kind of sour cream stuff and plantains first. The plantains were badass mixed with the beans or not. Also for some reason the coca cola tasted really good. I dunno. Anyway, we all collectively got pork and cheese mixed pupusas which are like little flatbread tortillas stuffed with rad shit and served warm. I couldnt get the hot sauce out so that was bummer but I just said fuck it and opened the lid. The tamales came in banana leaves and we all got pork except Henning, the outcast, always gotta be different ordering chicken. The tamales were delicious. I got empanadas and they were extremely sweet so I saved one to take home and put in the fridge so it gets cold and, I dunno, chill the sweet out. Overall, rad place and if you’re not on the far east side its still worth the trip. Theres a tight looking spot across the street called«Smiley’s» haircuts and the male and female pictures are cholos and cholas. Its badass.

This is an excellent little place I would never have come across if it wasn’t for an article I read in Houston Press. This is an excellent place if you want to branch out in your cultural cuisine and try some real authentic El Salvadorean food. My girlfriend and I both had the Plato No. 4 which consisted of two fried plantains filled with sweet crema(main reason I got the No.4), along with a pupusa which is a very popular El Salvadorean food that is basically two very thin tortillas with cheese, meat, or beans in between or a combination of any of those and lightly fried. This was excellent along with my tamale and plantains. I also had an El Salvadorean version of horchata which tasted a bit more cinnamon-y. Needless to say, everything was awesome and the outside patio was very spacious. Inside didn’t look like much seating but if you’re looking to try something new and branch out, I highly recommend this place. Bonus pts for you bro’s out there if you wanna take a girl out for the first time and show her something new and different.

I only had pupusas once before this, in Nicaragua, and this is as close to the real thing as I’ve ever had. Only $ 1.50 each, can’t beat it.
