The food here is kind of ok however the owner has the absolute WORST customer service. I walked in today to order and was ignored for 5 minutes at least, the phone rang and she took the customer over the phones order after that she hung up and walked away. I really was trying to exercise patience however I refuse to be treated like I don’t exist when I’m a paying customer. Because I am not one to just let things go I called and was explaining the situation and tried to get an understanding as to why I was ignored, the owner proceeded to cuss me out saying, «don’t call my business talking shit and don’t ever come here again!» Believe me, I WILLNOT! There are too many places with better tacos to be dealing with horrible customer service and mediocre food… I went straight to The Alamo where the food is always delicious and the ladies are always friendly!

Decided to try this place out after driving by a few times. NEVERAGAIN! First off, I’m all for finding hidden gems and this place is not one! Customer service is poor to say the least! The lady that makes the tacos, doesn’t speak English and is RUDE to customers and even worse to customers that don’t speak Spanish. She goes and uses the same spoon to serve all the items into the tacos. After watching her make my tacos I just couldn’t eat them. Don’t bother with this place!

The ABSOLUTEWORST owner EVER. The owner usually sits at the cash register… she talks about the customers to other customers. She’s EXTREMELY rude and could care less about customer service. I will NEVER come back here regardless if tacos taste decent.

STOP! Before you eat here, be aware they have ROACHES! I was told these tacos are worth the drive to try and extremely cheap. I saw tiny little roaches when the drink fridge was bumped. THATMEANSTHISPLACEISDISGUSTING!!! DONOTEATHERE!

These are my favorite breakfast tacos. Ever. Simple needs call for simple food. My favorites are the chorizo and egg, and the papas las mexicanas. Yummy. They are served on hot homemade tortillas heated up on a flat top. The hot sauce served alongside is fresh and super spicy. For lunch there isn’t anything cheaper. Don’t expect any frills. The food doesn’t need it.

Don’t let the outside fool you. Good tacos! Hand made tortillas that are pretty darn close to my mothers. Avocado and beans on everything if you ask for it. Salsa is GREAT(you always judge a mexican food joint by the salsa). Oh and CHEAPCHEAPCHEAP. As a local Mesikin I appreciate having this spot in the neighborhood. My go to place when I don’t want to drive or walk far from home. And NO you don’t need to speak spanish to order. The cashiers all speak english.

The food here is good. No pretension. Just good. Made with pride and is certainly the same food they feed their families when they go home in the evenings. This is the kind of place you crave… If it was next door to a club and stayed open later they could make a killing. Read my full review here:

I love this place. It’s so good and cheap, and you can watch them make your food. Great for breakfast and lunch! Everything is good.

Just wanted to grab some quick tacos for lunch, and I live nearby. Wow was I surprised! These are some solid tacos. Well-priced, and speedy service. Also, the staff are super nice. If you live in the area, I suggest this as your default taco stop!

I came across this place while lost in the area. I stepped in to grab a breakfast taco and was pleasantly surprised. Their breakfast tacos are SO good! Way better than Taqueria Arandas’. What I love the most about this place is their homemade salsa. It is a deep red with just the right spice. They make it in a blender in the back. The staff is super nice too. They already know what I want when I walk in. The place is tiny, so when it is packed I usually step outside. This is definitely a to-go place. There is only one table inside that is usually taken. Parking is tight too. I am very picky about my Mexican breakfast tacos. No one makes them as good as my grandma did, but this place comes real close. ENJOY!

Very good fajita gorditas(chicken or beef). The pastor(stewed pork) is also good. The burritos are a great value, they are $ 4.75 and they are about 1.75 times as big as a burrito from freebirds or Mission Burrito.

This is exactly what you think it is, a great taco stand, nothing more and nothing less. When I lived next door to this place I would get tacos here at least twice a week. If you are not Hispanic, as I am not, you better know at least some basic ordering instructions en espanol. As the other reviews have stated, this is not a sit down place. Take it to go. Also, don’t be intimidated, the people that run this place are super fun and nice and when the owner is around he will always crack a joke at the register. Just step right up, see what looks good and order it. If you don’t know what it’s called, point. Everything’s cheap! This place specializes in fresh food, so don’t waste your time reading the menu, start with tacos. Most of the time they have Pasole and/or Menudo, but if you don’t see anyone else with it, or see it on the stove, you might get leftovers, and that is just not the way to do it! Not many places make corn tortillas while you wait, so get it on corn! Al Carbon(Pork), Beef Fajita, and Barbacoa(Weekends) are always on point. If you ask they will throw beans, cheese, and alvacado on in addition to the standard onions and cilantro. In my opinion this is the best Mexican food on Main street. They may not have a dining room, but trust me, you would not like what you saw if you could see into the kitchens of the other spots on Main.

As part of my routine of getting up early even on weekends, I like exploring new breakfast places — and taquerias are perfect. Having read up on Fujio’s fine review, I had bookmarked it and tried it out Saturday. Regular tacos are served all day but breakfast tacos are served from 6AM to 10AM only. The place looks like a converted Church’s chicken stand and has a tiny area to order. Designed more as a to-go operation, there is only one small stainless-steel ledge inside to eat at with 2 stools around it. There are 3 chairs along the glass wall for use if you’re waiting for an order. There are benches outside but you wonder about three things in deciding whether or not to sit and eat there: (1) What ended up on the seat of your pants after you get up? (2) Will the local homeless get to you like brain-eating zombies before you’ve finished? (3) How clean is it to eat off of those tables? Since I go the distance for you, here are the answers:(1) nothing,(2) not if you hurry, and(3) pretty dubious cleanliness so use the plastic bag that your order comes in as a barrier between the food and the table. You can always eat in your car if this is all too much — believe me, I was tempted. I ordered the barbacoa and the carne guisada tacos($ 1.50 each) with corn tortillas. Average in size, the carne guisada was okay coupled with the red salsa provided. The barbacoa was a bit fatty and had a slight gamey aroma that didn’t work for me. Even with some of the green chile salsa, the gaminess flowed through. I had to throw in the towel with one bite to go. These pale in comparison to Taco A Go Go’s above-average tacos and hang their head in shame when compared to Sunrise Taquito’s fantastic options. While cheap, I’d say go up North Main by about a quarter-mile to eat at Taqueria Tepatitlan or take the quick drive over to TAGG or Sunrise Taquito. The extras in gas, time, and cash will earn a better return on investment. I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with the other reviews and recommend a pass on this place.

I live around the corner and I have seen this place plenty but never gone in. I went in today for lunch. I got two tacos, barbacoa, with avocado and cheese, extra. It comes with cilantro and onion. Very good stuff. This taco joint reminded me of those tacos stands along I-10 or other various spots, just a little fancier since it is located in an actual building. Very cheap. $ 3.50 for both tacos and they throw in red and green sauce. The tortilla was good. They warm it on the hot pan and get it a little crispy before packing it full of food. Lots of meat to choose from on a nice sized menu. They serve breakfast, enchilada plates, burritos, and hamburgers. Very big menu for a such a small place. Not much room to eat inside, so take it to go or eat on a table outdoors. I’ll be back.

The homemade flour and corn tortillas are worth the visit! Just north of the Heights off of N. Main and 45, this tiny taqueria serves some hearty fare. This place is so small, I’d call the dining room — counter space, but you didn’t come here for the ambiance. I usually take it to go. Grab a Mexican soda from the cooler and order all of your standard taqueria fare. Like Josh W. recommends, I usually grab a taco al pastor. They have tasty quesadillas with the softer Mexican cheese(anyone?) and I like to suggest for those of you with tough stomachs: Chicharon Carnitas(the closest thing to pork rinds and meat chunks bathed in a savory sauce). They give you some tasty salsas which is good because sometimes their food needs the extra zing. Grab breakfast, lunch, or a very earl dinner as their hours are 6am to 6pm. And thank me when you bite into that delicious tortilla.

This is one of my neighborhood spots — so maybe I’m a little biased — but they’ve got some great tacos al pastor. Fresh tortillas, cilantro and lime. Greasy pork. Mexican Coke. Sometimes it’s all you need.(Add rice and beans to the tacos and two make a meal.) I should mention that the service is really fast and the location just off of I45 makes it an easy place to hit when you’re near the heights. The old couple that runs the place are really nice foks too…
