Emerald Limousine

I would give 0 stars if possible. We ordered the Lincoln Navigator SUV to bring me, my daughter, my daughter’s friend and her mother to a concert downtown. The driver was courteous and on-​time. However, they sent a white limo instead of the SUV and it was atrocious! It looked quite old and not maintained at all. It had nearly bald rear tires, a weathered top, large scratches that someone made a poor attempt to repair, worn and ragged carpet and each time we stopped/​started to move the car made a loud groaning/​scraping sound. To make matters worse, the manager was defensive and rude to my husband when he called to complain about the vehicle. She also accused him of lying about what type of vehicle we reserved even though he was looking at the email confirmation while he was talking to her and it stated Lincoln Navigator SUV. I was embarrassed to be seen in this hunk of junk and even more embarrassed that the other mom (who had never been in a limo) was paying for half of it! I had to apologize to her and tell her that we had rented drivers/​limos on multiple occasions through other companies and that this was not the typical experience. The only upside is that you can’t tell how bad the car looked in the pictures we took of our daughters who were too young to realize that this «limo» was a joke.

I needed to have transportation for a group of our top executives who were in Galveston for a retreat. All they had to do was pick our group up from a hotel and drop them off at a restaurant.
Our usual place was booked up so I decided to give this place a try. The price was competitive and I was assured by the woman on the phone that they operated out of Galveston AND provided executive travel services routinely.
The pick up time was for 7:00pm. I got a call from the driver at 6:30pm with a breathy and lengthy story about a blown tire in the vehicle we reserved and how he had to switch to another vehicle — assuring me it had plenty of room for everyone we needed. The only issue would be that he was going to be 30 minutes late — because they did not operate out of Galveston as I was promised. I called the restaurant and was able to move the reservation and called my VP to let him know dinner had been delayed by 30 minutes. Not a huge deal.
Later that night I get a message from my boss letting me know the limo that was sent wasn’t anywhere near large enough to hold all of our people. Our CEO and VPs were literally sitting on the floor while another group had to drive in a separate car (we were lucky they even had a car there). Not only that — but this limo was DIRTY. It looked like it hadn’t been updated or cleaned since 1979 and was falling apart which made sitting on the floor all the worse. Unprofessional and unacceptable. The driver then held his hand out to my boss and told him that tip was not included in the price for the limo — I was already told that was included in the price as I wanted to make sure it was paid in advance.
I have called and spoken with the woman who answers the phone and received nothing but attitude and a promise that the manager or supervisor (who was not yet to work by 11:00am) would call me back. That has yet to happen and I will be surprised if they will be willing to right the wrong. Most likely we will just have to do a charge back with our credit card company.

This company is shady at best, be very careful.
1) The showed up in a different car which was a problem. The car had definitely seen better days, cracked screens, leather seats that had taken a beating etc. It basically appeared as if the car needed a bath.
2) The driver stood there and watched us load our luggage. Despite their promise that there would be plenty of room (we were a party of 12 heading to the cruise terminal) the luggage nearly fell us on multiple times due to lack of space.
3) The driver didn’t help us unload our luggage. She was very quick to put her hand out for a gratuity though.
4) The driver informed me that the tip on the contract I signed didn’t really go to her (which according to the company is not true. I don’t really know who to believe at this point). I handed her 20.00 in cash despite the crappy service (probably more my fault then hers) but I wanted to made sure she’d pick us up on the way back.
5) When I received my credit card bill she had apparently wrote in another 20.00 on the credit card receipt and changed the totals. None of my calls to the company were ever returned and the supervisor was mysteriously never in the office who could make the adjustment. I finally worked something out with Chase. I must have called the company 10 times before finally giving up and having to work with credit card company instead. I will not be using this company again and if you are reading this Emerald know that I have at least 5 more trips planned to the Houston area this year.
I only gave an extra star because we actually go to our destination on time and she actually showed up on time. Unilocal doesn’t allow for zero stars otherwise I’d just give one star.

I would not go with this company! Horrible management. The driver was the only nice person and felt bad for putting us in the ditch! The management is rude and they gave us «options» that were unsafe, then they were done dealing with us! We were in the limo less than 10 mins and they tried to charge my card. Do not use company!
