Essex House Apartments

This apartment is very old & dated. The apartments were updated but still feel old, and the leasing office is tragic, our aprt was close to the dumpster and we could hear every single person throw their trash & the garbage truck every morning, things in the aprt didn’t work– closet door hits a light fixture, kitchen drawer hits the oven handle when you try to fully open it. Property manager is useless, you can hear the people above you walk around their apartment. There’s no gym, you have to walk across the street to the Gael. We moved out during the 30 day grace period. & I thank God everyday that we did. Would NOT recommend this apt

Ugh. The Essex you really fooled us with your cosmetic updates. What is the saying? You can put lipstick on a pig…
The apartment I rented here looked beautiful. It had granite counter tops, two bedrooms with two baths, new carpet… what’s not to like? Well, it seems that the Essex updated the cosmetic aspects of the apartment without ever touching the infrastructure.
A list of issues I had during my one year lease: the circuits blew constantly, my plumbing overflowed and the plumber determined there were tree roots growing in the pipes… wtf??, our neighbor’s water heater exploded flooding our apartment, my roommate’s car was broken into, and lastly our down comforter was stolen off our balcony.
So why two stars, instead of one? Well from the apartment you can walk to Highland Village, Central Market, and Edward’s Greenway.
