Not bad food, but I have had better from a Mexican restaurant. Its more like a tex mex menu, with many of the selections smothered in yellow Velveeta cheese… not to Mexican in my opinion. They do have live music on the weekend though.

My fiancée and I have been missing a good close Mexican spot for awhile since Los Limas closed down and we drive by this place all the time. I had heard, somewhere, maybe Reddit that is was good, so for months I have been trying to convince my other half to try it out. It does look like it has gone thru a management change as the front signage is down from what I remember. We went on a Saturday evening and were surprised to find it pretty empty for a weekend, which seemed like it might be a bad sign. Once seated we had chips and salsa brought to the table pretty quickly. The green sauce was delish and my SO liked the red sauce as well. We also ordered queso and I loved the fresh fried tortilla strips that came with it. We both ordered alcohol, I had a pina colado and he had a jack and coke. We both like the amount of liqueur, but it did take awhile to get our drinks. Its seemed like there was only 2 waitresses? I didn’t like the tablecloths and the table was weird, but that’s not here or there really. Also for a dinner service it was really bright and open, so not really a good ambience. But like I said those are not deal breakers, just points to mention. I had a burrito and he had cheese enchilada and tamale plate. No beans for either of us but the rice was good. The food was great. My burrito was very flavorful, the tortilla was a little soggy but still edible. The price for 2 with appetizer, entrée, and alcoholic drinks was around $ 50. We both feel like we have found our new go to for quick and easy date night. Love it.

We have been going to this restaurant for the past 3 years and it has become very disappointing in the last year. The breakfast buffet used to be great but lately the options have diminished and your«made to order» eggs were still raw! The tortillas are hard and unappetizing. For dinner, the service has sucked to say the least and our order has been incorrect the past three times(within a month). We had to send it back to «complete» the order. The fish tacos were missing the cabbage and dressing, the shrimp cocktail was missing the pico and crackers and the shrimp quesadilla had no ranchero sauce as advertised but tons of cheese. Needless to say, we have decided to not go back for a while, if ever. Too bad because we enjoyed our Friday /Saturday nights and breakfast buffets!

I wouldn’t say this is anything to write home about, but definitely a sufficient stop for a Mexican fix for lunch. The fajita meat is cooked great, still tender not chewy at all. The margaritas could be a little stronger out of the machine. Would return if in the area and wanted some pretty authentic Mexican fare.

My first visit I had one of their massive burger’s and I was rather impressed. The burger was well prepared, service was prompt, and I had to take home leftovers. All signs of good times. The second visit I went in for Mexican food and I was not impressed at all. I’m not going to knock the sticky table or slow service, only the food. The salsa tasted like it was from a can. The sampler I ordered with a mix of items was just… plain. Almost like fast food. I did not see anything I had to have or try on the menu. In fact, a lot of items were close to being repetitive. In the end, I felt that taking home what was left was more hassle then just leaving it on the plate. Meh, I’ve experienced far better.

We’ve only had the breakfast buffet here which is only served during the weekend. But this is a great way to try out a lot of different Mexican dishes that you don’t know the names of. There’s usually at least 8 different things on my plate and I don’t know the names of most of them. But I know that I like how they taste. For instance, I’ll call it a Mexican quiche. I usually don’t like quiche but this place does it right. Tortillas are delicious; they also have a made-to-order omelette/breakfast taco filling station. They have fresh fruit and dessert. Basically, they have a lot of stuff that I wouldn’t normally try but this gives me a chance to try it all. For $ 10 you get to try out at least 10 different types of tacos and eat as much as you want. Tell me that’s not a good introduction to mexican food. A definite weekend favorite for us.

Being new to Katy and a foodie I decided to take a stab at this place. Not to mention a coupon in the mail was even more a reason to try it. Well I ordered the spinach enchiladas and I sent them back after a couple of bites. Like hello? Where is the queso aka cheese? Gross! I tasted my fiancé’s beef enchiladas and I immediately gagged! Like really, how can you mess up ground beef(questionable beef)??? The waiter was very nice. I requested that the spinach enchiladas be taken back to the kitchen and ordered cheese enchiladas in it’s place. I mean like who can mess up those right? Not a great first time experience but I did enjoy the laid back experience and nice patio.

The first time I ate there I was so impressed with the fresh food preparation and attention to detail. I am not sure what happened within the last month, but the food was inedible this time. A tip off would be when after you order and your full meal is sitting on the table in front of you within 2 minutes… Wow those microwaves are fast, huh? The onions on my fajitas were translucent and soggy from being constantly warmed. Save your eighty dollars… no amount of alcohol will make the food taste any better.

We drive by Fiesta Charra frequently as it’s located on the corner of Barker Cypress & Clay. We went on a Tuesday night and there were only 7 tables occupied. We sat ourselves since there was no hostess at the door. There seemed to be only 1 – 2 waiters working so service was a bit slow at times. The salsa and chips were really good, especially the green sauce! I ordered the dinner combo — Chile Rellano & Taco Al Carbon w/beef fajita. My husband ordered the beef fajita platter and my mother in law ordered the Taco Al Carbon w/beef fajita & Queso puff. My Chile Rellano was okay, really cheesy. The Taco Al Carbon was really good, the meat is chopped in smaller pieces and the flour tortilla is covered with queso. It was delicious and the meat was well flavored. But next time I would order the queso on the side rather than on the taco. The beans tasted like they were from a can and the rice was so-so. My mother in law’s dish was equally as good and the queso puff was huge! My husband’s fajitas came with a good amount of meat but the meat was a little on the chewy side, too tough for my taste, but the flavor was good. All in all, we would come back. The menu is vast and their seafood section looks really good. The prices are a bit high though for suburban mexican food. Fajitas for one is $ 14.99 and most dishes on the combo menu range from $ 8.99 — $ 16.99. For 3 people we paid $ 44(w/water). Give it a try, not a bad mexican restaurant for the Katy area.

Very close to home and great service. Rarely overcrowded. The flan is delectable! Excellent food. Would recommend and have recommended.

Good Mexican breakfast buffet! A little bummed that we couldn’t order from the menu til after 1100a but this place has all your staple Mexican food to make you happy and ready for a siesta! The wait staff was very friendly and filled my drink without having to wave someone down… a pet peeve of mine. This place is a good place for breakfast, I would definitely try it out for lunch and dinner as well.

I brought my boyfriend here last night for his birthday and once again Fiesta Charra did not disappoint. It was about our 3rd or 4th time dining here. Whenever we go each staff member who crosses our path is incredibly friendly and courteous. The service is always great. As for the food our meal last night was the best yet. Everything we were served — the chips and salsas and our entrees(seafood enchiladas and chicken enchiladas), were plentiful, piping hot, and fresh. We each had a margarita on the rocks and it was very good. Our meals and drinks cost $ 29 and change, not too shabby This is a nice, laid back, and convenient neighborhood spot that always comes through. We will definitely continue to visit.

Decided to try this place for lunch on Monday and was pleasantly surprised with tasty food. I ordered off the lunch menu and decided to go with the tortilla soup and the salad. The menu does not give much of a description on the salad but when I ordered the waiter asked what kind of meat I wanted so I said chicken. The salsas were pretty good although neither were spicy. I did notice they have All Day Happy Hour Monday and Tuesday which means 1.99 Margaritas which I think is cheaper than a Tea. The service was kind of slow when we needed something. Everything that was served to our table looked pretty good and my salad looked really tasty with lots of grilled chicken on top. That was a nice addition considering the salad note on the menu did not mention chicken at all. The Salad and soup were served on the same plate with a side of avocado and pico. The soup was barely warm when I got it :(So I had to ask for him to heat it again. When it came back it was hot and very tasty. Huge pieces of veggies in it and a side of tortilla strips. I enjoyed my soup and salad and left feeling full and not overly stuffed which could have easily happened. I will probably be back for lunch sometime. This place is reallybig on the inside and it is nicely decorated with mexican décor. It seemed pretty clean but they needed to turn the heat on because it was way too cold in there.

We are new to the area and are in search of some great mexican food. This place was nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. The guacamole and margaritas were very good. I had some very cheesy enchiladas, which were okay. It felt a little overpriced for what it was. All in all, this is probably a better value at lunch time. Our search for good mexican food continues.. ..

Wow! This place is fairly new, having opened up only a month or so ago I believe. I’ve been here twice in the last week and I am definitely a fan. The food is cheesy, the pre-dinner sauces are good and their drinks are even better. They have one drink that you are served from a bowl. It is interesting. I’ve had the enchiladas and a chicken breast dish from here and both are very good. I would recommend anyone in the area check this place out.
