Horrible mechanic shop. I live within a couple of miles of this place and have been there customer approximately three times. Each time I was suspicious that I was being overcharged however a lack of knowledge and pressed for time I just paid the fee and moved on. The last issue I had on my 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe dealt with it turning off when I came to a stop sometimes. After them looking over my truck for nearly a day and a half they concluded that it was the battery, which did not make much sense to me. So I purchased a new battery of course from them overpriced and within an hour my vehicle continued with the same problem. I took the truck back to them and told them that I researched the problem on the internet and that it was possibly fuel related. 10 minutes after my suggestion they came to the conclusion it was the fuel pump that cost me $ 750.
I’m not a mechanic but as soon I have some level of common sense and to this day I’m curious how we go from a battery to a fuel pump but let’s move on.
Yesterday I attempted to give them business again as my vehicle seems to lose power at a particular point and the check engine light is on. It took them approximately 20 minutes to point out 3 codes the computer was reading and a cost of $ 900 1000 dollars to correct. My vehicle even with the check engine light on is not performing extremely poorly and is very well maintenance. Their explanation for the near $ 1,000 did not make sense to me so I declined their service. Once again I went to the Internet to do a little research and the next day proceeded to different mechanic shops for second opinions. I did get ridiculous quotes but all of them were between 200 and $ 300 nowhere near $ 1,000. Ultimately one mechanic simply pointed out to me that I had a vacuum leak that was easy to fix. After pointing it out to me he told me it would not even be fair for him to charge me to correct this. To correct the problem was that simple as tying your shoes. He told me what part to purchase and I did it myself. It turns out I needed to replace a missing gas cap and purchase one new vacuum hose. The gas cap was $ 4 and some change and the vacuum caps with hose came in a kit that has four and was only $ 6. On top of that I only needed one of the four houses. I spent less than $ 12.00 to correct this problem. They wanted to charge me $ 1,000 they should be ashamed of themselves. To the mechanic that set me straight I ordered pizza and sent it to their shop. To the evil facility that tried to scam me out of $ 1,000 I went back and very kindly notified them of my discovery show them my receipt for the hose and waited for a response. The owner of the shop just looked at me with no words. The shop manager who gave me the light in the first place just kept saying maybe it’ll break down later. I would add that the minute I corrected the problem full power was restored to my engine and the check engine lights automatically turns itself off after about 10 minutes. They don’t even deserve one star.
I’m going to also add this community is a combination of low to middle class people. The people in this area are working hard to make ends meet and no one can afford to be scammed in such way. Truthfully days deserve to have their shop closed down and then run out of business. As I was leaving their shop I watch the female inter complaining about service for her own vehicle. People need their vehicles to get to work and are often taken advantage of by shops like this low integrity and tasteless they are.
