I really like this place. The owner is extremely nice and very talkative. I had a seal break on my master cylinder hose that he replaced. After a while the other seal that’s under the car deteriorated and he did not charge me for that one. That’s at least 2 hours of work! Any other mechanic would have charged me $ 150+. I am very thankful for this guy and his shop. I would recommend him to my own mother, he is that good.

Labor cost may be a little more expensive then some places, but the quality of work is worth it. Brought my truck in on a Monday afternoon to have the radiator replaced and had it back the next morning. They even offered me a car to get around in the mean time. Would recommend.

Great service, quick, and honest.
I brought my car in to get a second opinion on a noise my car made. The owner told me the cause of the noise and the part that needed to be replaced. He recommended that I wait another 40,000 miles before replacing the part since the defective part wouldn’t cause any damage to my car and it would be expensive to replace. Lexus doesn’t sell that part alone, so I would have had to pay for parts I don’t currently need.
I tried to pay the owner for his time, but he refused to accept any money from me.

I read the negative reviews more than the positives.
I had my brakes down there. I probably could have saved $ 200 at a midas type assembly line, but this place was within walking distance to my house. I used to do all my own repairs so its been a long time since I’ve had to pay someone to work on my cars. Well, like I said the price wasn’t the cheapest. The parts were marked up 10−20% over what I could get from a parts warehouse online, but you have to remember, that doesn’t include shipping and doesn’t include the fact he gets the parts the same day. So parts prices were reasonable.
I’ll probably go there again, bottom line if only for convenience. I probably wouldn’t drive far to get her, so that’s my test.
If you are looking for a mechanic that is 50% of normal, that’s not here. I’d said its about normal on labor prices.

My wife works in the Heights and the owner has helped her both times with a flat. She is pregnant and he went out of his way to fix her flat and get her out quick. The wife and her husband are very nice. Greek people are the best.

I have a 1972 VW Super Beetle and I am super picky about who works on it. I took it in there and the owner worked some magic on my beloved car. VW’s are simple cars but with lots of personality, he got the car humming beautifully. I need to find parts and it was easy to have them shipped there. They were very helpful all around. I’ll be back!

**DISCLAIMER: I haven’t had any work done at Fixer that’s technically mechanical (though I certainly will if the need arises), but my sensor light for having a tire low on air keeps coming on, even though I’ve just had the air checked and adjusted. Every time, the owner quickly figures it out and fixes the problem.
Sounds simple enough, but the problem has been different every time, and when I say «quickly» I mean in under 5 minutes. He also shamefully undercharges for his services, when he will accept payment at all. Just an incredibly refreshing small business owned by a smart, capable, kind and hard-​working guy.

Here’s the summary: I took my car to Fixers three times for a fairly routine repair (loose heat shield in the engine). After spending ~$ 100, the problem was not solved. I found another mechanic that solved the problem in 15 minutes and charged my $ 30. Fixers refused to give me a full refund (they gave me back $ 20) after haggling for over an hour.

I did not have a good experience here, which was disappointing given the good reviews on here.
I took my car into this shop for a noise underneath the car. I had researched the problem and was pretty sure it was a loose heat shield, which I mentioned to the mechanic. I picked up the car later, and was told the heat shield (under the car) was removed. They did not charge me for this, and I was very happy, so I decided to get my oil changed there to give them some business (I believe the oil changes are over-​price here).
I picked up my car and drove it home. The same noise reoccurred 30 seconds later.
I took the car back, and I explained the situation. The mechanic told me to bring it back, which I did several days later. He replaced a pipe hanger underneath the car, which cost me about $ 100 for parts and labor. When I drove off, I AGAIN heard the same noise. I took the car back and he told me it was just noise that an old car makes and that it was nothing to worry about. My reaction was — «Then why did I just spend all this money?»
I took the car to another mechanic, who diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes. It was indeed the heat shield (in the engine), and it cost me about $ 30 to get this fixed. Please note my car has two heat shields: one in the engine and another underneath the car. When I drove the car, the noise was gone.
I then took my case for a refund to Fixers. I will say overall they were nice, but they were very stubborn. They kept telling me that «noise travels» and «noises are hard to diagnose.» He kept saying that he can’t give a refund because he put labor and a new part into the car. My argument was that he didn’t solve my problem I came to him with. I told him that the other place had removed the heat shield, which he said was impossible given that he had removed the shield under the car. He said he would give me a full refund if I went to the other mechanic and brought back the shield. I did. But he backtracked on his offer, and we argued for at least an hour.
Finally, they gave me $ 20 back (after telling me that they didn’t know how to refund my money), and it just wasn’t worth my time anymore.
Long story short, I took my car to Fixers three times for fairly routine repair, and I was charged $ 100 for work that didn’t fix my problem. However, I should have gotten a full refund.
I will never go back here.

Just had our AC worked on at Fixers. Mr. Micu fixed the AC and our AC is preforming much better. His wife was very knowledgeable as well. I found their price to fair. I would recommend their service to anyone based on my first experience.

I went there because of all of the positive reviews and loved the owners. They were so sweet and helpful. I will give them that… The downside is i got my quote and it was almost eight hundred dollars to do two minor things! I got a detailed estimate for parts and each part was more than double the cost for direct jeep parts. I can’t imagine how they have so many good reviews with prices like this… or maybe they saw a young woman… specuation i guess :(just sad about my whole experience.

I took my Dodge Viper in a few days ago to get the air conditioning looked at since it wouldn’t blow cold anymore. I am always wary of taking it somewhere new, because a lot of places would see a Viper pull in and see dollar signs and try to run up your bill. Not this place! The owner Tarfin and his wife Crina were very friendly and Tarfin had it checked out and recharged in a few hours. He is highly knowledgeable and is a neat guy to talk to since he fled communist Romania many years ago. I found them to be very kind and enjoyed talking to them and Tarfin talked me through what he thought the problem might be and made me feel comfortable about him doing the work. The price charged was more than fair and I would use them again in a second! Very pleased!

I’ve been using Fixers for 10 years. The service has always been excellent. Owners are helpful and willing to offer a loaner car when needed.

Today was my first experience with Fixers after hearing nothing but good things. My review will be no different. They are so nice and helpful. I even got a loaner car with, get this, a carseat already installed in the back for my 2 year old son. It really is little things like that that make a huge difference. I will definitely go back to these folks!

We went to Fixers because they received a good review here and… THEY WERE RIGHT! This is a TrUStwOrThY mechanics place. These are difficult to come by so when you find one you better hold on to it. I am timid to write this thinking I may be stranded with out my vehicle one day and they will be so busy from all of these wonderful reviews I can’t get in BUT WAIT they have a loaner car! Can you believe this place friendly, community driven, neighborhood people and they actually do exactly what they say with NO scams problems or lies. This couple is so forthright and wonderful. I had a horrific experience with the owners of this place. They were EXTREMELY RUDE and INSULTING. I was actually surprised when I read positive reviews about this place because the people I dealt with were extremely unpleasant and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Fixers was able to fix, once and for all, a vexing problem that two other places hadn’t been able to correct. If I’d gone to Tarfin and Crina first I would have saved over $ 2500 AND dealt with much nicer, helpful people along the way. I can’t say enough good things about them. They listen and troubleshoot to make the most cost effective repairs, and try to make helping you keep your care serviced and up-​to-​date as easy as possible.

I was on my way from Louisiana to Albuquerque, and I heard something break under my car in Houston. I went to Fixers, as it was the nearest mechanic I could find, and I didn’t want to drive far with the piece of steel dangling near my tire. Tarfin immediately stopped what he was doing when I got out, came over and looked at the problem, and told me what it was (a broken sway bar), what it meant, and how long it might take to replace, if he could find a replacement in town. I was on a tight deadline, and was reluctant to delay my trip unless absolutely necessary. He and Crina said I should be fine, gave me helpful information about how drive in a way that would compensate for the lack of a functional sway bar, tucked the broken end up out of the way so it wouldn’t wreak further havoc, added a little air to my tires, gave me advice about another car issue I was having, and asked me to call when I reached Albuquerque. So, though I didn’t actually get any work, I deeply appreciate their honesty, pragmatism, and compassion for my situation. I would go to them without hesitation, were I to have further trouble in the Houston area!

I’ve just started taking my «out of warranty» cars to Fixers. Everytime has been a wonderful experiance. Very helpful and wonderful customer service.

I have been a customer of Fixers for a couple of years and they do a wonderful job keeping my cars in great condition. I have used Fixers for major repairs (AC Compressor, etc) as well as routine maintenance and in all cases they are very forthright with accurate and reasonable estimates and have provided me with loaner cars when I am in a bind for transportation. None of the repairs have ever required rework or failed. I am very happy with Tarfin and Crina and would recommend them without reservation to anyone. I do suggest calling in advance to schedule work. You will find they are very knowledgeable and honest.
