If I could give this place zero stars I would. Truly a gas station quality hamburger… For 9 $. Small, grisly cut of low quality meat, buns straight from the wonder bread bag, and anemic whitish scraps of wilted lettuce… as their motto goes–«truly gourmet burgers». I forgot to mention the two paper paper thin avocado slices, bless their poor souls. At least it was… I dunno. Truly nothing redeeming. Instead of giving this«business» your money, go ahead and skip a step and give your friend 9 $ to punch you in the belly and lick some dirt!

I tracked this food truck down At shady tavern. This food truck fits perfectly at this bar. The bar itself is a simple place with beers and wine. The food truck has basic burgers. My friend and I had the So cal burger and the Bacon burger, we go the Fries and the Sweet potato fries. It was a ok burger. Nothing special. We were expecting more since the price isn’t cheap. They had it out fairly quickly but I wouldn’t return.

I had the Juicy Lucy, and WOW, it was awesome! High quality ingredients, juicy meat… what else could you ask for?! I felt the $ 7 price was very reasonable, given that the meat is fresh and the cheese is of good quality(and plentiful!). I am SO glad that this truck frequents the parking lot of my office. I will definietly be a regular customer!

I don’t eat red meat… keep reading. I was at the 1940’s Air Terminal Museum at Hobby airport and Flaming Patties was on site serving up fresh hot food. I was starving and ventured over to see if they serve anything that isn’t a hamburger. Indeed they do! They serve a veggie burger, turkey burger, and a grilled cheese. My husband had the turkey burger and really enjoyed it. I had the grilled cheese which I had them add grilled onions to. It was delicious! The grilled sourdough bread was the perfect touch. We shared their regular and sweet potato fries. Both type of fries were delicious. I love sweet potato fries and can be quite critical of them, but these were very good. There was a cooler of drinks built into the outside of the truck. The drinks were cold and floating in ice water. Unfortunately, the cans were so dirty! The top of the can was coated in dirt, even after I took it out of the water. I would eat at Flaming Patties again. It’s friendly to those of us who don’t eat red meat.

It was just Ok… I ordered the cheddar burger and fries. It came to 9 dollars without a drink. The burger was just Ok. Appearance wise it looked as if it had just been thrown together. I have never been a fan of shredded lettuce on a burger, I would have preferred a large fresh piece of lettuce. The bun was flattened and burnt. The meat was just ok. I was disappointed with the fries as well. While they were my favorite style of fries, hand sliced with the skins. These were just warm and soggy, not hot and fresh. Guess they had been sitting for a while. While waiting for my burger, I was standing next to the open door at the front of the truck. Looking inside you could see a layer of dirt on everything. Dash, floor, seat, steering wheel. The problem I have with this is that it is openly connected the cooking area. They really need to clean their truck. The condiment area /shelf was in need of attention as well.

5 stars! Flaming Patties was at Shady Tavern, and it was delicious. I would go back just for the burger. It was a great homemade burgers that runs juices down your arm as you are eating. 3 thumbs up!

Kudos to Flaming Patties for having vegetarian options… that are good! And for having Sriracha sauce :) We stopped by when we went to the Karbach brewery tour. We got some yummy sweet potato fries– which are a pretty big portion, so share with a friend– and grilled cheese, which has AVOCADOANDTOMATO on it! Genius. I would eat at this food truck again! Sometimes they get pretty backed up and it takes a while to fill your order but this is a pretty solid food truck with a pretty big menu considering they are a food truck. Can’t comment on the meat though since I’m mostly veggie :)

Juicy Lucy! Got this burger today and it was great. I have seen the concept of a burger with cheese inside of it from tv shows and always thought it looked good. Well Flaming Patties brings that concept to Houston! the Juicy Lucy Burger was good, I think it was cooked well done though.l. Added bacon to the burger which was $ 1 extra. I got sweet potato fries and they were awesome as well. And it was pretty cheap — got away with a $ 10 food bill!

We checked this place out while at Shady Tavern(where they usually are stationed) and this place is legit. Stiles is flipping patties(and has been for more than 30 years) the right way. He has heat, attention to detail(homemade jalapeño relish, homemade mayo), and a great menu. We had the So-Cal and the Blue Betty and they were both nicely cooked with a great fat content ratio that provided for supreme juiciness. Arugula and caramelized onions sent the Blue Betty through the roof. The chipotle mayo on my So-Cal was a perfect compliment. We also had a half and half order of regular and sweet potato fries(Stiles offered this as we agonized over which to get) which were great. Not the best«plain» fries you’ll ever eat but they were fresh and the sweet potato fries were splendid. We will definitely be returning.
