I don’t know that I’d ever buy anything here, but I sure do like to look around. This place is great for the modern person who likes antiquing — they have a large selection of old-timey stuff like soda fountains, ice cream sundae carts, soda dispensers, advertisements made out of metal, etc… all harking back to a nostalgic late 20th-century-America-era. The also have things for the more serious collector like lamps, mirrors, furniture, etc… Essentially, this place is aptly named«Flashback Funtiques» because it invokes nostalgia for a time long gone. Definitely worth exploring.

Great little store. I bought my mom something from here. The owner of the store was so nice he offered us free sodas. They have the cutest lunch boxes from back in the days. This store carrys a lot of things but I don’t think I would ever buy most of the stuff they have. It just looks great in the store and I’ll keep it that way.

Upon first seeing this place I thought it might be a run down convenience store. While they may have deterred most people I actually got a little excited because all I could think was«NOVELTYCANDY!» As I got closer though I realized this place was an antiques store of sorts. Not one of those boring shops with 53 straight back chairs, but something really cool with old school games and signs and other odds and ends that I personally would enjoy. Then I walked in the door. They had a Pac-Man machine. I think I fainted. It was a really old one, only as tall as I was with a smaller screen than the ones I grew up playing on. And it was the Mr., not the Mrs. I didn’t even ask how much it was because it wasn’t fitting in my carry-on luggage and I’m sure the shipping costs would have been slightly high. But, just knowing that it’s out there is enough for me right now. I did end up buying some pretty sweet albums for our record player including Billy Joel’s Glass Houses and a live double album from Lynyrd Skynyrd. It is kind of pricey and kind of dusty in there. I think it was worth it though.

Oh man. The fact that they have the word«Funtiques» in their title should say something. But really, there isn’t a better way to describe the joint. Sure, they’re antiques, but they don’t all in the normal categories of antiques. They mostly focus on niche pieces like soda machines, jukeboxes, pinball machines, vintage signs, etc. If you’re looking for something cool and unique along these lines(I think I’m gonna put them on a hunt for a She-Ra lunchbox), this is the place for you. The service was great and incredibly helpful, but the prices were a bit high. I know that these are items that are highly sought after, but I was reeling from sticker shock. I figured the only place with prices that high in Montrose would be Mark’s! Nevertheless, if I had a ton of money and was a collector of this kind of memorabilia, I’d be here in a heart beat and buying up a storm.
