They CLOSED! :(On top of how sad I feel about this, it’s a big blow to my appetite. Now I’m reduced to eating at less interesting seafood restaurants whose food can’t compare to the gumbo and grilled seafood I had from here. Seriously, I don’t know where to go now for Cajun style seafood the way they actually make it in Louisiana(not the bland faux kind). GOAWAYBBQ/steakhouse/whatever that moved in!

We have eaten here twice over the course of a couple of years. You know, it’s really good! I sound surprised because I was surprised both times — and we wonder why we don’t think to come here more often. Don’t expect fancy — the restaurant is nondescript on busy FM1960. But, they have a good menu with plenty of choices and everything is always super fresh. I had a bowl of gumbo while husband had oysters on the half shell, followed by grilled snapper and blackened mahi. Both entrees came loaded up with fresh veggies. Neither fish dish was covered in sauce — just simple seasonings that let the fresh flavor of the fish come out. Decent wines by the glass too!

I LOVE this place. The food is always great. The grilled tilapia is my favorite. We go on Friday nite’s and it busy, but never packed and we have never had to wait for a table. The crowd is usually an «older» crowd, we feel like the youngest people in there. Our daughter loves the fried shrimps. The service is friendly, sometimes slow but never impersonal. And I highly recommend the chocolate brownie. It is so rich, yet not heavy. Definitley for two or more people… UPDATE…THEYARENTTHEREANYMORE… SOMETHINGCALLEDJB’S STEAKHOUSE, HAVENTTRIEDITYET(09÷27÷10)
