Ever since I moved to Houston, Forum Park neighborhood has been real estate agents’ frown. But, it’s not that bad, really. It’s a typical working-class neighborhood seeded in SW Houston I think it just needs some TLC on the roadways and apartments buildings. Now, that’s talk about a park called Forum Park situated behind the Forum Park apartments. This is a quaint neighborhood park for residents nearby. I could see they have direct access through the locked gates. Whenever I come to walk or jog, I feel like this park is for me. Because it’s always empty. But I can only come after 5 pm or on weekends as the school no longer in session. Since there is no parking, I have to park next door at Best Elementary School. Street parking is available except when school is in session — Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. The walking trail is shaped like a giant 8. Pavement is really rough with lots of grooves. It is definitely not skates friendly. The path changes width between 3 to 6 feet wide, which made impossible to pass slower walkers. I enjoy this park for its convenience. It is surrounded by Bisonnet St, Beltway and SW Freeway. However, this park lacks shades and it has no bathrooms, and not much lighting after dawn.
