Get the dozen jumbo shrimp, life will become complete. The fries & cole slaw… just save space for the jumbo shrimp!

This is a family owned restaurant. When I came in they were taking the veins out of the ship by hand. I was surprised by this. I haven’t been somewhere that I’ve seen do that. Their prices are reasonable. The restaurant is very low key and casual. Both times I’ve been here, I have had good experiences. You pick one of their combo meals and they fry everything while you wait. The batter comes out crispy and doesn’t get soggy or oily. I think the fish is really fresh. It tastes better than I could ever do at home. The batter has a good flavor. They make their own cole slaw. I wish they did the same with their tartar sauce. I was surprised to see they have raw oysters by the quart/pint. I am planning to go back and try them. This is a great place if you are looking for fried fish. I’m not sure if I would get grilled fish here.

The $ 6 meal(3 pieces of fried catfish, fries, and drink) is the best deal in the Galleria area. The catfish is fresh and the batter is very light and flavorful. It’s a no frills establishment and that’s ok with me and obviously a lot of others. My only fault is that I always go for the fried catfish and have yet to try the rest of the menu. I also have not bought from their un cooked fish selection. I would tend to get that somewhere else. Staff is friendly and definitely helps if you are a regular, which a lot of customers are. Stop passing this place up and give it a try.

Good food for a great price. I don’t usually go for fried seafood, but my shrimp and fish were crispy and delicious.

Good hole-in-the-wall find! The menu for eating in is a bit limited, but it’s great value and good taste. $ 7 for a dozen fried shrimp, coleslaw, fries, and a drink is tough to beat

Great little hole in the wall! They have a variety of fried fish options for a very low price. I tried the fried shrimp and crab meat sandwich, which were both very good. The crab meat wasn’t fried, which was a nice surprise. It did have onion rings for those that do or do not like them. Highly recommend!

Delicious fresh caught-fried catfish, fries, slaw or eggroll, canned soda. All for under $ 6.00. Add the jumbo fried shrimp for a small price. Try to get in the door before 11am or prepare to stand in line.

Tiny little spot that is the truth!!! So let me first start by saying I am not a huge fan of Fried Seafood… Seafood is my favorite food so I like it fresh out the water and grilled or baked, I have always felt that fried takes away the natural flavors. However, My Parents were in town and they love Fried Shrimp and Catfish so my Boo Unilocal guided us to this little gem. First it is the size of a bathroom in Target… Super hole in the wall but they know what they are doing. Food Catfish and Shrimp-Perfect breading, very clean and light. The seafood did not taste dirty and the grease didn’t taste old. It was served with a side of fries and cole slaw, both of those are wack so it went in the trash. I also got a side of Tartar sauce for $ 3.00 and I swear it enough to last a month even if you ate fish every day, so stick to the packets if you have a small family. My favorite part about this place is the fresh fish you can buy and take home. I purchase Grouper all the time from HEB and they don’t always have it. This place had beautiful Grouper that was so fresh. The guy told me to always ask which fish is the freshest to purchase. It cost me about $ 30.00 for 3 pieces and it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this place, great food, great prices, and the customer service was amazing.

This spot was very good for a fish market. Didn’t get any spectacular customer service. The place was packed for the lunch rush, and it seemed that they all were regulars. Ask for any additional specials because they have a few that are not on the wall.

Yum-mmy! If you have a craving for fried seafood this place will cure it. I’ve only tried the shrimp. They are perfectly seasoned and plump. They are not heavy on the breading but have just the right amount to give you that crispy crunch and yet you still get the snap from biting into fresh shrimp. I had to take off one star for their sides. They are not tasty at all. They have perfected the seafood but not the sides. Other than that this place is a hit.

If you love fried shrimp then this is your spot. Hands down best fried shrimp in town. You should always get the large or jumbo, but medium size shrimp are available too. They are located right across from the fish gallery(which many people have told me they have accidentally walked in there thinking it was the restaurant) on fountain view. So what makes this place really cool is that they are truly a fish market. You can buy all kinds of thing to take home and cook. Salmon, catfish, grouper, seabass, trout, crab meat, oysters, crawfish, and of course the shrimp. When I eat there I get the large shrimp special. Includes a dozen large fried shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and a 12 oz can of soda for $ 8.99. You can get the medium option for $ 6.99 or the jumbo for $ 11.99. If you are into fried catfish it’s $ 5.99 for 3 pieces and the above sides. Great deal for great food! Absolutely going back and always telling everyone about it!

Deep fried delishishness. The menu is deep fried fish, and fries. Order the 3-piece(catfish), and on the way to your table, help yourself to a canned soda, water or iced tea(it’s included in the $ 5.99 price). While you’re at the fridge, also grab some chilled tartar sauce, ketchup, spicy sauce, and whatever floats your boat. I do not like fried food. However, this is not greasy or stomach-upsetting. If you have a southern man(or gal) in your life, bring them here and for $ 6 you’ll both be happy, and you’ll probably get lucky, too!

Seats and parking are hard to come by during lunch hours, but it is well worth the minor hassle. I ordered the catfish special and the shrimp special. Catfish Special-3 pieces of fried catfish, fries, coleslaw, and a drink of your choice from a beverage cooler. Shrimp Special-a dozen fried shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and a drink of your choice Total cost $ 14.05 Catfish and Shrimp are cooked to perfection. The catfish fillets are thin and have just the right amount of batter. The batter is simply seasoned and stays crispy even in the styrofoam to go boxes our orders were put in. There were no seats available during the lunch rush which is why we took the food to go. They even wait for the food to cool down just enough so it does not melt the styrofoam container. I was totally impressed by their consistency despite the crowd. The only bad thing is that it’s not closer to me to enjoy more frequently. I will be back!

Was very happy with my jumbo fried shrimp & fries. The seasoning was on point, I had more shrimp than breading and could actually taste the shrimp. Very fresh, they cook to order right in front of you. I’m going back very soon.

Five stars for the food dining in! Four stars for the seafood for sale. If you’re in the area, DO stop by for a meal. It’s the freshest fried goodness at the best deal! I tried out the two fried oysters, two shrimp, two catfish filet with fries, coleslaw, and a drink for $ 7.99!!! Just so we are clear, this is just simple fried fresh food. This is not a restaurant with waiters, just good quality and consistent meals. The storefront is just that — a storefront with a few tables set up. It’s all self-serve(condiments you pick up at the fridge). Nevertheless, they were busy past lunch time and I would definitely be back for this comfort meal. I was a little disappointed with the seafood selection for sale and the prices. The items that they had did look fresh and wonderful, but I can’t say that’s the best deal or selection in town.

Funny, I have driven past this joint for almost a decade going to work, and never noticed it. I just happened to see it while doing a Unilocal search for lunch. Glad I did. Prices are low, but the serving is plentiful! I had the fish, shrimp, and oyster combo and it came with a side of fries and cole slaw. The seafood was fresh and very crispy. I love the french fries — straight-cut fries. The cole slaw was straight cabbage and mayo — definitely needed some extra ingredients. I also tried their stuffed crab. It was crispy, however, had a bit too much stuffing vs. actual crab. I might just ask to skip the cole slaw next time and ask for more fries. They also sell seafood, which looks very fresh. I am intrigued to stop by one day to purchase some seafood and try their gumbo.

OMFG… fried shrimp is so yummy esp dipped in their tarter & cocktail sauce. I try to come here at least every other week, but as I get older I find it more difficult to keep fat OFF my hips. I try convincing myself that you only live once so EAT whatever you want…(YET I also like my hot bod) j/k. Anyways just stop reading and give this place a try. It’s your typical family owned business so don’t expect to be waited on hand and feet. Its a freaking fish market! Food is so worth it though. Prices CANNOT be beat. 2 can dine here for under $ 18 with tax & tip. My go to place for fried shrimp, fish, oysters!!! Happy Eating!

Fountain View Fish Market –hidden gem I’m a huge fan of catfish and fries and have tried this combo at many restaurants throughout Houston but… this by far is the FRESHEST. The secret to Fountain View Fish Market success is that they keep everything clean and simple. This humble and small market is located on Fountain View between Westheimer and Richmond and in a small shopping center. I’ve passed by countless times and never noticed it. Back to the food: Even though I ordered the 3 piece catfish combo, I did receive 4 catfish pieces plus 1 shrimp. It was a nice surprise. The taste is amazing! It is lightly breaded and flavored perfectly. And I was hungry but couldn’t finish it all in one sitting. The leftovers the next day were just as good. Like everything else in life, once you’ve had the best it’s hard to settle for anything less. I will be back often.

Small establishment with limited parking. As a seafood fanatic, it was clear the shrimp was not gulf shrimp. The shrimp had a really nice crunchy batter, but lacked seasoning. I should have gotten the hint earlier when I noticed the demographics of their customers. The shrimp were very bland in flavor and according to my friend, the oysters were delicious. I’m not sure how often the oil is changes, but by the time I got home I was sick. I would not return for the food.

Their menu is definitely limited, but what they have is well done. I got the #81 fish, 1 shrimp and 1 oyster with fried and coleslaw to be able to try a little bit of everything they offer. The wait wasn’t bad, and it’s nice to see their open kitchen. They definitely keep the kitchen area clean. The tables weren’t filthy. The greasy feel that usually comes at a place like this wasn’t present, a definite plus. I thought the food was a little underseasoned, so some Chulula didn’t hurt. We saw that they threw in a few extras in our order(woop!). I’m not a fan of coleslaw(and theirs didn’t change my mind), so I’ll have to opt for some other side next time. They have a cooler where they keep drinks and condiments in squirt bottles. We saw some regulars squirting some tarter and cocktail sauces in their to-go boxes before leaving and did the same. I would def be generous with the cocktail sauce! mmm mmm The food isn’t super hot(temperature) or actually hot at all, which I found to be a bit strange. It’s perfectly crispy and cooled. There’s no heat building up in the box and doesn’t lose it’s crispiness on the ride home. I’m not totally sure if I would’ve preferred to have the food hot or not because it was delicious either way. I’ll be back to try some of the other menu options. They have fresh filets of various fish and sizes of shrimp. Not sure if they’ll cook it for you if you bought it out of the cooler, but I don’t see why not. They prefer cash as a method of payment, but they do accept MC and VISA. Parking is pretty easy. They share a couple dozen spots with the strip center, which includes a convenience store, a nail salon, and a couple other establishments.
