Gillman Acura

I made an appointment because my acura rdx would start sometimes then sometimes it wouldn’t start. I talked to the guy he said they would take care of it. I gave him my keys as he got my number and told me to wait in the lobby. I waited for an hour and a half when I was told to wait for 40 min. I got impatient waiting so long so I decided to find the guy and ask him how much longer. The guy tells me «Oh its been done»??? I then proceeded to ask him why he did not come tell me? He says «I thought you went to eat»??? Even if I went to eat don’t you think you should call my number to let me know its ready? Then the guy tells me well good news everything is fine with your car, there was nothing wrong. I tell this guy I promise you something is wrong with my car. He keeps saying everything checks out and that I don’t need to worry. I tell him my warranty is almost done and that I don’t want to drive home and in a month have the same issue and my car is out of warranty then. So I argue with him a little then grab my keys to leave… and then my car doesn’t start. I come back inside to tell them and they are like thats weird, we did every test and your car is fine. So they decide they need to keep my car overnight to run more tests to see whats wrong, They give me a loaner car. The loaner car has the gas light on when I get it, at this point I’m not even surprised that its on. The next morning I go to pick up my car and they say my battery was bad, but wait I thought you guys told me you did every test and everything was fine? Well my battery was about 2 years old max, I’ve had the car for a year and when I bought it certified pre-​owned from them it was only a year old. They tell me the battery is not covered under warranty, I ask him well most batteries these days have more than a year warranty. Most batteries have 1 – 2 year full replacement warranty, then up to 5 years they will give you a certain amount of credit. He then tells me this battery has only a year warranty, then tells me I owe $ 180 for parts and labor. They didn’t try to give me a discount on this or even work with me after all the dumb BS I dealt with.

This place does not even deserve a star but it won’t let me give no star. Horrible horrible horrible is all I can say about the used dealership side. They lie to your face to get a sale. We bought a used car and purchased the extended warranty. A/​c went out the next day and so I called the sales manager and he told me no claims can be made for 30 days!!! That was a lie!!! He didn’t want us to bring the car back. The car is junk and should have went to a junk yard instead of a car lot and I believe he knew this. All they wanted was sale. We spoke to one of the owners of Gillman and he promised to have what was needed fixed and nothing was fixed. The car sounds worse than when we bought this piece of crap. Don’t waste your time or money going here!

This is actually my very first Unilocal.In the past I haven’t cared enough to write them but after what I’ve been thru with this sales woman named Tiffany at Gillman Acura, I just had to write this. So Sunday I call them to inquire about a car and I speak with none other than, Tiffany. I tell her about the car I’m interested in and I let her know Wednesday is the soonest I can come in. We hang up and all is done. Then on Tuesday she calls to pressure me to come in a day earlier talking about many people have called in asking about the car blah blah blah and she begins telling me they cannot hold used vehicles and I say that’s ok. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. I then tell Tiffany I actually cannot make it in Wednesday due to all the flooding and the busy work week because of it and I inform her I will be their Saturday morning. She then said, ok. I hang up. So now it’s Thursday, she’s calling me AGAIN. Talking about how she values me as a customer and she just wants me to be happy and I quote Tiffany when I say this” if you come in Saturday and the car isn’t here don’t be all like DAMN Tiffany why didn’t you hold it for me because that’s not what we do” (SO what you do is bombarded me with sales tactics, curse, and put words in my mouth and lie to me) the lying part is coming up, bare with me. so then I say, are you a salesman for Acura? She said and I quote” No, I’m the customer service manager, and I guarantee the guests customer satisfaction and that someone else would be selling me the car”. I then call bs. Because that’s what I asked for in the first place on Sunday, a used car salesman (Tiffany). So I hang up, and I call back fifteen minutes later to speak with another salesman at Gillman Subaru which is connected with Acura and I begin to ask this gentleman if Tiffany was in sales? He said” yes, she is a car salesman with Acura”. I then tell him that she lied to me. Anyways, I cannot believe how blown away I am by her shady tactics and her lying to me. In the future, if someone calls you not once, but twice in one week to set up an appointment to come look at a car, it would probably be in your best interest to not harass them and lie to them. let them come in so you can make the sale. If she is willing to do that then what kind of car are they willing to sell me. She has compromised the sale in its entirety and I doubt I’ll even go in their to see about the car that I was interested in. People like her is what makes purchasing a vehicle from a dealership scary. That was about a month ago, it is now the 4^th of June and I’m extremely displeased with Gilman, AGAIN! Not only did that happen prior and they promised me a great deal on a car which I did NOT GET. and a wash job on my current car to apologize for my prior experience. the wash was nasty and dirty and a horrible gesture to offer, especially if your wash jobs are garbage. I did in fact purchase a car from them, why, I don’t know… the key remote died on me in less than a month of having the car but that’s just the beginning of epic fails. the back window is leaking water heavily. It’s like the Brazos river in my car. I wish in my contract it said i would be receiving mildew in my «great deal» they «promised». I SPECIFICALLY ASKED DOES THE TOP LEAK. Because it’s a convertible. They said «No». I wouldn’t have purchased it knowing water flows into my car and builds up faster than the water in Houston. Also, I opened the hood and one of my wheel wells is destroyed. Held on by what seems like rubber tape. Its coming apart is such a way I can hear it when I drive. Scary to think it could rip off anytime and cause me to get into an accident and hurt someone else’s life or my own. What’s even scarier is that Gilman would sell something so unsafe and insecure. I guess my life and others around me aren’t as important as Gilman making their sale. Acura Gilman are liars and they sell garbage. We were going to trade in our 14 accord for an Audi but after my experiences with that dealership we are NEVER going anywhere near that dealership again.

I am re-​writing this Unilocal for Paul my boyfriend because we can’t seem to find his anymore. If you see it twice its because we are trying to get our point across. We are angry and feel scammed.

I dealt with Matthew Poore who was excellent. He guided me to a vehicle I wanted and in my price range. The Nissan Murano was loaded with soooo many extras and he handled the transaction from start to finish. He even went out of his way to drop my rental car off with me and bring me back. The dealership is wonderful to deal with and friendly and attentive.
My only regret is they do not service Nissans so I should have bought an Acura cause I trust these guys. If you do go to Gillman Acura deal with Matthew and tell him Elizabeth Patrick sent you and he will take extra good care of you. I feel like I’ve made a friend with Matt. Thanks for reading my post.

I purchased a 2007 Lexus ES and was happy with the experience. Salesperson Andre was professional, courteous and non pushy. They showed me the services that they performed on the car, and it was a long and extensive list. This wasn’t the case at other car dealerships I’ve been to. Also, they provided me with a very reasonably priced warranty, another option not available at other dealerships where I shopped.
So overall, I was happy with the experience and with my purchase. And this was after going to many different dealerships.

Recently took my Acura ILX in for 25K maintenance plus a few other minor service issues. Expected to wait for a few hours; however, Service Advisor, Garrett Schultz had the car back to me within an hour plus included the savings I would have received had I been able to find a Sunday that coincided with Garrett’s and my schedule. Thus far, I have had nothing but favorable experiences with Gillman Acura.

My wife has had her 2012 Acura services here since we moved back to Texas in 2014 and had good experiences. Acura has now recalled the car due to Takata airbags. Gillman called her digesting they would make her a very special arrangement as the car may not be safe to drive. A recent death in Houston as a result of the airbags. Bottom line the deal offered was not a good deal under normal circumstances. The deal made no reflection on the fact that Acura would avoid liability on the car. Bottom line Gillman exploited the issue to try and sell a car and make a profit, not help resolve a serious safety issue. Despicable action that will cost them our future business.

Garrett was professional, it was a pleasure dealing with him. He called with the diagnosis and the process was seamless.

On February 19^th, Gillman Acura proactively reached out to let me know that my vehicle is impacted by the airbag recall. It’s serious enough of a recall that Acura is offering me a rental car until the part becomes available in 4 to 5 months.
The other option I was given was to purchase a new vehicle. My car is paid off and in great shape. My intention is to give it to the kiddos, so trading it in is not something I’m considering.
Here’s the challenge. Once it became clear I wasn’t buying a car, I have had no follow through from Gillman Acura.
The rental car they offered was a compact. For you guys that know me, you know that my over 6ft boys and teenage daughter make a compact car an impossibility as a family vehicle. I requested a larger vehicle and ‘April’ (the person I’ve been in communication with) said she understood my situation and would absolutely get back to me.
I spoke to ‘April’ again on Monday and she apologized for not getting back to me. Still have never heard back from her. I found out why today; she’s in sales.
While this is serious enough that Acura is willing to PAY for a car rental, Gillman has ignored my needs and my concerns entirely. I finally drove the car to the dealership to see if I could get some answers and was turned away by Robert Egan, their Service Consultant, until Monday.
Mr. Egan acknowledged that if the airbag should deploy, there is risk of death. I wasn’t offered a loaner vehicle nor an apology for being ignored. He was condescending with me, and actually looked to My boyfriend for a more ‘reasonable’ response.
I love my Acura, but I’m astonished by my mistreatment at this dealership. A matter of customer safety was taken seriously by Acura. It was treated as a sales opportunity by Gilman. They should be ashamed.

Service advisor Robert always takes excellent care of my vehicle. Highly recommend!

Just paid $ 150 for a B1 service on my RDX only to find out the tires weren’t rotated, the battery wasn’t checked (they were out of paper?) and now I question whether any of my service work was actually done. How can you miss a big item like rotating the tires?! I’ve now driven here three times today and my service is still not complete. That’s an expensive «car wash» in my book! What a waste of a Sunday off! Update — the car was NOT actually serviced! My car is now really being serviced and my money refunded.

Excellent service department — Made an appointment online to have my car serviced and was super impressed with the total service I got. I showed up for my appointment and they had me in and out with a loaner in a matter of minutes. Called me a coupe of hours later that my car was ready. I went there after I got off work and again I was in and out quickly. They make you feel special and like you are their only customer. I will definitely be back!

I bought my first Acuara from Gillman in 2007. I used their service department in the past exclusively during the warranty periods on my 2008 TL and 2009 MDX. After the warranties expired, I used a local car repair place that I had used for many, many years prior to buying the
Acuras. When this business changed ownership, I was no longer pleased with their attitudes and services performed.
I did many online searches in my area for reputable car repair places — including the big chains. I know people often complain about bad service but do not compliment good service so I expected to find more complaints than kudos. But most of these places had really bad complaints about their repairs and attitudes of their customer representatives.
I decided to go back to Acura because I had always had great service with them. To be honest, dealerships are ususally a bit more expensive but they kinow their cars better than anyone else.
I went back to Gillman Acura and I really enjoy their professional but friendly service. My MDX has 170K+ miles on it and it runs like a new car. I truly believe it is because I get the services perfomed at the recommended intervals and I do believe that Acura does all of the work they say they will each time I bring the car un. According ot some of the reviews I read of other places, their customers did not believe that was happening.
I took my TL in this last week and the «service codes» in the manual indicated internal air filters needed replacing. TJ, the service coordinator, called me and told me the filters looked good and didn’t recommend replacing them at this time. That save me over $ 100.
Even though these cars are getting old, they both run great. No rattles and no strange noises. I believe it is the result of having the cars serviced as recommended and having the services performed by very dependable and honest technicians.
I do highly recommend Gillman Acura. I have always been pleased with the friendly professionalism and excellent service. The loaner car is great, too.

Excellent service department! This is why we were upset with our recent sales experience. I will copy my response to both Chris Gillman and the sales manager:
Mr. Gillman,
I must admit I had a very disappointing visit to your dealership. First I was lured under a bait and switch tactic after I specifically asked if the MDX my wife wanted was on the lot. After being assured it was, my wife and I travelled from Montgomery to your dealership. In two vehicles. These will be mentioned later. Once I arrived the keys to my car were whisked away for the appraisal. Good tactic. That was the only reason I stayed as long as I did. A Mr. Mouton was very helpful and polite throughout. He took my wife and I for a test drive in a DIFFERENT MDX than expected. I was very explicit in the deal I was looking for having sent the particulars in an earlier email. Wanted to trade 2 cars in with a total trade value of 42 000. The car sale price was 56 000. The difference being 14 000. The first offer was 30 000 at which time I asked for our keys to be returned. Mr Mouton ran off to discuss with Nick and came back with Nick. Nick stated he could go to 23 000 difference and let me walk. Nick stated that he didn’t want the Porsche and that while he was a ‘fan’ of MDXs ours had too many miles. Odd coming from a Acura dealer that has done all maintenance on this car. I passed a BMW and Mercedes dealership to go to Gillman for this treatment. Attached please find screenshots of KBB appraisals for our cars. I for one do not think I was bargaining in bad faith. I can’t say the same for your group. When I was in the car business our used car group would have made this deal happen.
This was not replied to. Too bad. We had bought 3 Acura’s in a row. She is now driving a BMW X3 from BMW in the Woodlands. EXCELLENT experience all around. Richard Burgoon was great with explaining everything to my wife. BTW we were offered 8k more for our trades and this was not reflected in the cost of the new vehicle. They just shopped our cars harder.
I’ll still take my TLX to Gillman’s great service department but steer away from sales.

Horrible service and rude manager. I had called for availability on a car twice and was told vehicle is available. I drove from 86 miles and when I finally arrived, the car was sold — was never greeted by the sales person I spoke with but instead was greeted by a very rude manager who told me that her salesperson had called me several times — which is total lie — no calls, no voicemails and when I pressed for information on when she called manager denied me access to speak with the salesperson.
Typical sleezy used car tactics. Made a mistake coming here — love Sterling McCall at least they have common courtesy to try and put customer first.

«Way too slow Gillman, way too slow!» should be their slogan/​jingle.
Although it pains me to give a subpar review, I just had to share my disappointmenting service experience with you all today. I made an appointment for 9am, showed up at 8:56am and was told it would take 1.5hrs to get my alignment done. Cool. No problem.
I waited patiently for 3 hours. Yup, 3. Did not say a word. Double the time … for an alignment!
The part that upset me the most was not the wait time itself, because I realized they were understaffed … But the service advisor asked another advisor for help closing out my ticket and had the nerve to say that I waited less than those 3 hrs … while I was standing right there!!!
So thanks dude, for (A) lying to me about the wait time, then (B) totally devaluing my personal time and © for doing that all to my face when I was completely understanding of your inability to multi-​task and to effectively communicate with your customers.
He was just plain rude and that is absolutely unacceptable in a service environment.

This Acura dealership has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Robert Egan does an excellent job every time I set foot on the premise.
Robert provides a five star customer service experience. He has excellent industry knowledge, remembers me and my vehicle, makes excellent suggestions and treats me like he wants repeat business.
I have been doing my service here for the last two years and have been extremely happy with Gillman.

I love Gillman Acura! Excellent staff and great customer service. Our family car — 94′ Acura Legend — had some major engine problems and we took it in to Gillman. Next time you go for a repair, ask for Garrett. He is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us a fair estimate, hooked us up with a sweet loaner car, and walked us through the entire process.
Unfortunately, our Legend was too costly to repair and had to be put down. Garrett kindly commiserated with us as he too was sad to see such a reliable family car meet it’s end. I am glad to say that Garrett was the last person to work on our car. R.I.P. O’le Legend. You will be missed.
