I know not to expect stellar customer service from gas stations, but I’ve had my share of pretty great experiences on many Texas highway stations. Unfortunately this was not such a time. I rarely find the need to go in a gas station, this time though I got a Gulf gas card as a gift and decided to stop and use it. I tried the card and it kept saying go inside. So I tried just filling up first then pay, since I was filling up and didn’t know how much it would take. Nope, wouldn’t work that way. So I clicked the help button, nothing. Clicked a couple of times nothing. So I went in, the lady was just playing around with some papers so I guess that’s why she couldn’t be bothered with help button. When I explained that I wanted to use the gift card which had $ 50 on it, she said in a very bothered tone that she could not approve beforehand so I could either try card again or pay inside. I explained that I didn’t know exactly how much to fill up, she just kept saying the same thing. I explained that I followed the outside directions, she said, «I don’t know what it says out there, can’t go now«. She wanted me to say an amount, go put that much and if not enough then do it again. So I asked if I gave a too high amount, would she refund the money, nope again! Seriously not worth trying to deal with someone who obviously has no common sense or sense of customer service!
