This is good food lamb over rice and gyros both great. Great portions and good salad. They also delivered which is always a plus. Definitely better than Halal Guys in my opinion.

We had catering delivered(free delivery within a five mile radius) and the food was great. We ordered the gyro platter which included choice of meat, rice, and salad. It was basically a create-your-own gyro platter but instead of pita bread, it is with rice. We did order pita bread on the side too at $ 1/piece. The salad was more of a topping to your gyro than an actual side salad for the party of 10. Overall we would definitely order again for our next event. It was $ 90 for the platter to feed 10 guests. The downside was placing the order. At first, their computer system was down. The employees there were clueless on modifications and did not make me feel comfortable that my order was placed correctly.(I asked if we could do half chicken and half lamb/beef.) I was placed on hold and the server forgot about me and apologized after I called back. Overall, I spent about 45 minutes that day trying to place the order. HOWEVER, the order was delivered on time and delivered correctly(plenty of sauce and hot sauce included).

I LOVELOVELOVE this place!!! I get the lamb over rice with no salad with both sauces and it’s amazing each time. I always have leftovers too which is great. Great kind service. Perfect place to go to for a halal meal –or a meal in general!

This was one of the best restaurants i have ever been too. It was a funny story of how we discovered this place: My family and I were at a Persian resteraunt, when my dad met an old college friend. His guy told my dad about a new resteraunt that his friend had opened that made amazing gyros. he said the name of the resteraunt was called Halal Guys. So when we got home my dad asked me to search up the resteraunt. He couldn’t remeber the name but he remembered that it made gyros. So i searched up gyro resteraunts and I found gyro king. It had the exact menu that his friend had told him about so we decided to go there the next day So when we went there we ordered 2 gyros and 2 chicken over rices. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was nice, tender and seasoned perfectly. The rice was perfectly cooked. The hot sauce was perfectly spiced. The white sauce was flavor packing. And the vegetables were crisp and fresh. After going to the resteraunt we found out we went to the wrong one, but we had no regret. When we went to halal guys(the ACTUAL resteraunt my dad’s friend had talked about) we were so dissatisfied. It was NOTHING compared to Gyro King. I will recommend this resteraunt 100%.

After reading all the reviews I was super excited to try this place. I was a bit disappointed. The meat was way salty. I got 2 lamb over rice. Wasn’t crazy about the grain of rice it was a bit hard with what I’m use to. The salad was good and fresh. I got the kids chicken tender kids meal which was expensive for a kids meal 6.99. I also got one of their juices. I ordered juice A but the cashier recommended a juice favorite which wasn’t even on the menu. I realize that this juice must’ve been pre juiced so it was quick to come out. I also go the gyro fries and again I was disappointed cause the meat was salty. I would give this place another chance and maybe try and actual gyro the next time. Maybe I was overly excited about this place and got my hopes up too high. It was good but just not 5 star worthy for me. Would I return? Yes. Would I eat the same thing again? No

I’ve been a fan of theirs since their food truck days on OST. I’m beyond happy they opened up a location that’s closer to the west side. The food taste exactly the same as their food truck. Delicious and flavorful. I always get the lamb over rice or lamb gyro. Never disappoints. Don’t forget extra white sauce ;)

Obsessed with the chicken over rice. Super close to my home and it closes at 12 midnight which is the best!

The restaurant has a decent size dining area, and has a counter along the walls.(more sitting area) Luckily the location is fairly close to my home, and they stay open late!(Compared to Halal Guys) I’ve had their combo which consisted of chicken and lamb and it’s amazing!(The chicken actually has flavor! Compared to Halal Guys) It also consists of lettuce, olives, and some other things I can’t think of at the moment. You add(if you want) white sauce and the red sauce(not as spicy as halal guys) at the end! I would come back here often and try their other dishes, but probably not because I love their combo! Also, they sell soft drinks, juices, bottled water, or you can ask for a cup of water(small cup) In conclusion, Gyro King is better than Halal Guys.

There are several reasons why I decided to check on this spot. First of all, it had such a great reputation among my colleague. Secondly, it didn’t seem to be pricey and the last thing is that Gyro King is very close to my place. So considering all this it would have been a crime to continue ignoring such an interesting Houston gem! So my impression of Gyro is immaculate! OMG all those reviews didn’t lie. I haven’t eaten such flavorful rice in all my life! Perfect aroma, which can feel entire restaurant space! That was definitely wonderful experience! I am planning on returning there soon!

Hey foodies! So I was starving last night(Tuesday) my family decided to get a to go order from this yummy place. I’ve been her five times already pretty new to my location. It’s clean and has ok customer service. The food though it delicious! I fav is lamb over rice with everything including the hot sauce. I tried the combo last night chicken and lamb over rice that was very yummy! It’s a must try not the normal fast food it’s more of a healthy eat, but so satisfying idk how it’s even healthy. Also if you live by they do delivery so that’s a plus. Give it a try you won’t be sorry!

This place is really good and I’m happy to have it 5 minutes from my house. I love eating shwarma and after noticing the existence of Gyro King I’ve been here at least 10 times within the last 2 – 3 weeks. The lamb is really tasty and I always get extra meat when getting lamb over rice or a gyro. The lamb chops are the most expensive thing at $ 15, but they are absolutely perfect if you want 4 nice chargrilled chops with tasty seasoning and crispy fat on the edges. The baklava is also some of the best I’ve had with its ton of flaky layers. Honestly, the chicken is alright but not the best. It is more of a shredded chicken without a strong grill flavor. Its still good if you’re in the mood for chicken or a half chicken combo. The best part is that they are open until at least 12am almost every night! Perfect for dinner or friends that come over later on at night. One of my favorite spots in the area right now, I’ll be back soon.

Pretty decent platters and gyros. I might be more impressed if I weren’t a native NYer and used to better gyros and platters on almost every street corner. I haven’t had Halal Guys here in Houston yet, but I can say that Gyro King isn’t better than the one in NYC. The meat is nicely seasoned, but I didn’t think the rice was that great. They add chopped cucumbers and red onions to the gyro and I wasn’t thrilled about that. Lettuce and tomatoes are all I need on a gyro, along with white sauce and hot sauce. And speaking of their white sauce, while good and fresh tasting, it’s a bit too much on the healthy side. Didn’t like the addition of mint. I like my white sauce thicker and creamier. And let’s face it, the white sauce is an important(if not the most important) component of a platter or gyro. Almost as important is the hot sauce. Their hot sauce is more tangy than spicy and I didn’t love it. I find their food perfectly average. Nothing to rave about. The restaurant was pretty basic and no frills, but clean. There are a few tables and chairs and a counter area with stools. The employees were nice and welcoming and my order was prepared quickly. I would eat here again, I just wouldn’t make a special trip or anything.

Are you looking for some tasty halal food? This may be the spot for your late nights or even when to fulfill your cravings. I was viewing my snaps on snapchat and found my friends and family getting food from their food truck. It looked so good, I had to go try it out for myself. When we opened the door, we received a delightful waft of their food. It was like opening the doors to halal heaven. The menus are large and bright on tv screens for you to view as you walk up to the cashier. There are even photos of their food items for you to view. I’d say this place was clean and shiny. It was very cold inside that time I walked in. This might be a great spot during the Texas heat, if you know what I mean! Bring a long sleeve in case your the type that gets the chills quickly. Onto the food! I ordered a chicken and lamb combo over rice, my sister had the lamb over rice, and my cousin had shrimp over rice with a side order of lamb on top of fries. She loves fries I tell you. I kid you not we ordered our food first and beat the crowd that swept in after us. What surprised me is that they served food to another certain colored group of people that came in after us. I began to think maybe they ordered to go. We witnessed another family order their food and they were followed by another certain colored group. That other family was waiting forever and we saw the certain colored group get their food before the family. WTH right? Racists or what’s the deal? Our food took a bit to get out to us, but it was bearable. The food tasted really fresh and I’d have to say it topped out as the best halal food I have had. One thing that bothered us was the spice level wasn’t quite where we expected. We had spicier halal food elsewhere. I went up to the pick up side to ask for more sauce and the guy who I believe who is the manager was speaking on the phone for a bit. I was about to call him out because I could’ve been sitting down and enjoying my food. There were two workers taking care of orders around him. If you’re going to be on the phone, go speak elsewhere besides the kitchen and in front of a customer. How rude! I also had one of their juices. $ 5.50 for a 16oz cup of fresh juice. I asked the cashier which juice would they prefer and she told me Juice A or Juice B. I chose A because it was green and it contains kale. The other ingredients were apples, celery, and lemon juice. Other than the lack of spice, and racial thing, we enjoyed our dinner. The prices were around $ 8-$ 15 for the dishes. It costs a bit more than other halal dishes, but the portions were a bit bigger. It was a far drive from where I live, but I’d come here again for the food if I happen to be passing through this area.

This is going to be my new halal spot The place had pretty good amount of seatings. It’s all so clean with friendly staffs. I got both the lamb over rice and chicken over rice(4⁄5). It was flavorful, tender, awesome sauce and fresh salads!

I was a huge fan of the truck on Old Spanish Trail, and am super happy they’re finally closer to Sugar Land! They have very late hours and the guys working there are so friendly too. The truck on OST was always spotless, and this new location is also very clean. They are very generous with their portions, especially with their salads(lamb over salad), and the salad comes with chick peas, corn, pickled stuff, etc. Lamb chops over rice are well worth the $ 15, the four pieces are huge ! I have tried the other similar restaurants, and there is no comparison. These guys here are consistent with the good quality of their food and large portions, unlike Jones for example which would always have something different with their order(some times there would be corn, other times olives, just whatever they felt like tossing in). Jones was just so disgusting of a place to order food from. The newer Halal Guys place on Farnham is just all hype and their food is gross, I had a gyro there at HG with maybe two tablespoons of meat in the entire sandwich ! It wasn’t even a real lamb gyro, it was just beef! I even prefer the white sauce of Gyro King you can see and taste the dried mint, the hyped up white sauce at Halal Guys is just like a tastless watery Mayo. These guys at Gyro King are streets ahead of the competition and I wish them success !

Open til 2am… Close enough to Sugarland also!!! So, I park in the front with a group of about 30 ppl($hit you knot) standing around chatting *praying they weren’t all gonna get in line in front of me* I make my way inside the place to see that I had come upon the aftermath of a big party, with employees cleaning the place up like they were about to close for the evening but no, it was just to clean up after the huge crowd they just served.

Hands down best lamb over rice place in town. Came here on a Saturday night. Drove into a parking lot with a bunch of desi kids playing cricket with no regard for surrounding cars lmao. Well, I walk into the restaurant and it’s a complete bloody sausage fest. Dudes freaking everywhere. Anyways, there were about 5 or 6 people ahead in line. Ordered two combo over rice. Took about 30 minutes. Watched the Rockets lose to the Bulls while waiting. Total wait was about 50 minutes. You can ask for how we’ve much sauce you want. The combo over rice is HUGE loaded with lots of meat. Chicken was very flavorful and almost had a chicken thikka type flavor. Lamb was tasty. Fresh romaine lettuce and well seasoned rice. This place is better than halal guys. Will be back. Second Visit: Here on a Sunday and they seemed short staff. There is only one girl working the register/pick up/and juicing and two guys making the plates. Shouldn’t have to wait 30+ minutes for two platters. They should consider hiring more.

I love Gyro King and I would always make the voyage from far NW to the Med center just to eat it from the trailer outside with the mosquitoes! Lately every Sunday I would tell myself that I was gonna make the voyage here for lunch despite the cold/wet weather, but now that this location has opened, my petro money will go further. On Wednesday I saw one of my new Unilocal friends write a quick tip for this place and almost dropped my phone instantly bookmarking it! I went to work and told my coworker(who never goes anywhere to eat outside of Katy) that this was the joint I’ve been telling him about and he needs to git up, git out, and git something, but he never did. Anyways eagerly awaiting for Saturday date night, I dragged the wife out here for the occasion. Now this is cool, because it’s actually a restuarant, so you can sit down and the kitchen is bigger so the food comes out way faster! I ordered my usual, the combo with extra white and red sauce. We sat down and took our first bite and yaaaasss, it was just as good as the Med center location with the same huge portions! I’m sooooo glad that Gyro King put this one here. I mean it’s not super close to me but it’s a lot closer than the med center. Now I can just skate down the 6(Hwy 6 that is) in my slab to get my fix. Aw man!

Taste: I love the Lamb here its not too dry and the sauce they have here doesn’t taste weird like how it does at Jones. Compared to Halal Guys this place is a little bit better in taste. Also they give you enough meat unlike halal guys. I also had this one juice with orange, apple and beets and it was amazing. Definitely worth getting. Its not too sweet which is the best part in my opinion. Can’t wait to try more food from here. Service: The people here are very kind and work as fast as possible to get your food to you. Price: Cheap. Another reason I love this place is because they are open later than most places in Houston, which is something Houston desperately needs since most«good» food places close at like 10pm.
