this is my all time favorite crawfish joint! i have been coming here for years and years. i watched the owner’s nephew(or son) grow from a young adult into a grown man-married with a kid! i think they’re running the place now, it’s seriously been that long! hanks crawfish was one of my first ever times tasting crawfish, and boy, did they set that bar way high. the crawfish is so flavorful, just a perfect amount of those heavenly mystery spices! i may secretly soak my cajun fries in the sauce while eating but that’s neither here nor there. ^_^ yes, the space is literally a hole in the wall but gosh guys, this place is seriously worth dropping a group of friends to come in a pair or just by yourself. you can get your spice preference in a few different levels; mild, medium, spicy, and new orleans spicy. spicy will burn your lips off your face so try medium. i try to listen to my own advice but honestly spicy is so worth the burnnn! if you want to feel the burn for over a week, try the new orleans spicy. and don’t forget to try your crawfish with garlic for an extra kick! im not sure why the average rating is only 3 stars right now. my only assumption would be space. my only personal complaint would be that hanks dropped the ball over the years on the cleanliness of the actual crawfish and size. otherwise, the’ve beat all other crawfish spots(including other hanks locations) as far as taste and customer service goes. yes, flavor is everything so 5 stars for flavor.

I do NOT understand all the great reviews here. I took my Louisiana son-in-law to Guidrey’s Cajun Kitchen in Deer Park to show him how great the crawfish were(selling @ $ 5.99 lb). He loved it so much he confessed he would be broke all the time during crawfish season if he lived closer to me. To impress me he went to his favorite place to pick me up some is «his» crawfish when I dropped by their new place. I had him pick me up 3lbs each of spicy and mild to share with my Grandboys. The clear bags were full of dirty water in one and ridiculously spicy dirty water in the other. They do not purge their crawfish and the poop veins were really full; did I say they were really full? Of each 3lb bag, 2lbs were inedible. I paid $ 7.99 lb. for extremely soggy crawfish that were badly over cooked and falling apart. I love garlic but these are over the top. The spicy were way too hot. The mild tasted dirty with no spice at all. I like spicy. I want it to at least make my nose run. I am typing this review an hour later and my hands are still burning and the same dirty taste lingers in my mouth. My advice: don’t get them to go. Eat them there so when they are sadly over cooked, you can ask for another batch or refuse to pay for crappy crawfish. Happy Crawfish hunting. This is not a paid advertisement for another crawfish place. Just someone who enjoys really great crawfish and hates wasting her money!

Love the shrimp and the crawdaddies. The spicy, mild is not mild, it is extremely spicy. I had googoo lips after eating 2lbs of mild Hank’s. Did not get the full 5 stars from me because the extra charge for flavor… Kind of weird. I thought you paid per pound but whatever…50cents extra for this and for that… Oh and domestic beer is $ 3.29, a dollar more than i normally paid for a beer at a restaurant. Did not wait in line long. The place is decently clean and efficient.

Very good service ! Fast and reliable. The food comes out piping hot and fast. Careful with the spiciness, The«spicy«is really spicy.

The food was great and the service was fantastic. The only reason for 4 stars is the parking. It is hard to get to and you have to park behind the place.

This place is a joke! Worst crawfish I ever had — over cooked; tiny & tasteless. Served in a plastic bag that is ½ hot water. Truly disgusting — will never go back to this overpriced dump.

Ok, so in the past I would gladly say that«I Love Hanks» WELLFOLKS that has changed. I don’t know if it is the cooks or maybe they changed the recipe, but honey I have to tell you the food is not the same and the staff is no longer friendly. My family and I used to meetup here maybe like 2 or 3 times a weeek at one point. So we got to know everyone and everyone knew us and it was AWESOME people with AWESOME food but now. ITSJUSTNASTY and they are RUDE and be very careful because sometimes they will over charge you for stuff you did not order. my advice is to KEEPONTRUCKINGDOWNTHESTREETTOTHEWESTHIMERLOCATIONBECAUSETHEFOODISSOMUCHBETTER.

I just had to give five stars! The majority of my reviews consist of crawfish places and I have been everywhere and this place takes the number one spot for me. I ordered the New Orleans Spicy with garlic butter, which is the spiciest, and it did not let me down.

I’ve been coming to this place for over 6 years now for the crawfish they soak there crawfish really well and have a great taste mild or spicy always good the service has been slacking over the last couple of years I think due to always hiring new waitresses this is more like a family run business when the owners are working usually in the evening is the best time to go in for exceptional services

Ugggghhhhh, this is the restaurant that sets the bar for all other crawfish places. I’ve found myself eating somewhere else and thinking, «This is good. but, it’s not Hank’s.» Originating from New Orleans(that’s how you know it’s gonna be good), Hank’s is a hole-in-the-wall, family owned place. It’s kind of small, though; 12 tables, narrow isle to the register from the door, cramped when at capacity. It may be tiny, but let me tell you, this restaurant really knows how to pack a punch with food. Hank’s has been CONSISTENT with their crawfish for years. We’re talking 6+ years. It’s just as good today as it was when I first tried it out 6 years ago. Everything you need to know; –Crawfish, blue crabs, jumbo shrimp, clams, and mussels all boiled to perfection. Flavor choices are mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy, or N.O. spicy. Either of these you can do with or without garlic. I usually opt for the spicy garlic, and when they say spicy, they mean spicy. My nose runs, my forehead has beads of sweat, my lips swell and I definitely can NOT breath through just my nose. It’s the only way I like my crawfish. If you don’t like spicy food, stick with the mild! If you like spicy food, the medium is comfortable. If you’re insane, you can get the extra spicy. And if you want to die, get the N.O. spicy. –They have fried food too. Platters with shrimp, or oysters, or fish, that usually come with fries, but you can sub for other sides for an extra charge. –Their poboys are ridiculously good. I’ve been to N.O. a couple of times, and ACME is my go to place for oysters and poboys, and Hanks’ sausage patty poboy tastes EXACTLY the same as the one at ACME. Can’t go wrong with the shrimp or oyster poboy, either. –Good appetizers; vietnamese eggs rolls, cajun fries, alligator bites, boudin balls. –Get a Mitchelada, seriously. It goes so well with crawfish. Doesn’t help when your mouth is on fire, but it tastes really good. They have a variety of beers to choose from. –Also, they have that green drink that’s really popular on bourbon street. I forget the name of it… something grenade? Grenade something? I don’t know. But it’s really yummy. –Another reason Hank’s shines is for their service. Everyone here is really nice. Lisa, the manager, is very humble and sweet. Don’t try to take advantage of that, though, because she doesn’t deal with nonsense. Sylvia, one of the waitresses, is always so polite. She called me «ma’am». I felt old. And she’s always on top of her game. Everyone works very hard, there’s no slacking off here. So, if it’s busy, cut them some slack. They deserve it. Also, don’t forget to tip! The enjoyment and satisfaction on your face doesn’t pay their bills. –Restrooms are clean, and for the ladies, you have a full length mirror to make sure you still look good after acting like a pig with the crawfish. –Also, they’ve got a kids menu. I can’t vouch for the other locations, but hot damn(literally), you can’t beat Hank’s when it comes to crawfish.

Usually hanks crawfish location is awesome. Other places has better happy hour but this is probably the first location ever. Been here since the beginning and I used to love it. The michelada are still great. The foods are okay though. I’ll update the rating if it gets better

The atmosphere was mediocre. It was dark. I went about 3:00 P. M and all the TVs were on blasting depressing news stories. It was around the time that I a celebrity had died so that’s all that you could hear. It was very depressing. The crawfish were medium sized. I got the mild which they were pretty spicy. The garlic butter sauce was horrible. it was more Garlic than anything else. it was such a strong flavor got sausage and rice was mediocre as well

Went here with my best friend on a Saturday. We happened to be the only ones there because most people were picking up take-out orders. The waitress took our drink orders and gave us time too look over the menu. We each got a pound of crawfish and my daughter got a chicken nugget kids meal. Our waitress checked on us multiple times and made sure our food was out promptly. My daughter’s chicken nuggets and fries were fresh and hot. Our crawfish was hot and very well seasoned. I really enjoyed the crawfish and should have ordered more than one pound. Next time I will also try the spicy level. My best friend and I will be back next time and will order more food. I want too try their Mardi Gras pasta and fried Oreos. Mmmmm! Lol.

Love the peel and eat shrimp. Love the seasonings here also. Oysters are huge and great! They have a very good happy hr menu. Low prices on drinks oysters and peel and eat shrimp. Ends at 7. One thing I don’t like is that it takes a long time to get the attention on the wait staff. I’ve had to go upto the front to pay myself. The portions here are extremely generous. The quality is great and the prices are very fair… 5 stars!

2 Stars is the best I can do. Food: Just OK. I had a catfish po-boy with fries. I think that they cook the fries in the same oil as the fish-tasted that way. Sandwich was very bland. The cook stood in the window the whole time I was there texting on his phone. I guess his assistants did the cooking. The rest of the employees just milled around the floor and the bar, very undisciplined and unprofessional restaurant management to allow this. I know that this isn’t a high priced restaurant — but come on! Probably won’t return.

Love their crawfish seasoning! Be warned, it’s very spicy(even for mild, so I’ve heard). I get the spicy, garlic butter. The only thing I don’t like is that the crawfish meat sticks to the shell, I’ve had fresher, better cooked crawfish. If you like crawfish with a LOT of flavor, I recommend this place!

Not thrilled to get on the highway again back to Dallas after meetings in Houston and happened upon Hanks… Lobsters may be the KING’s of crustaceans, but I think Crawfish are cuter and super tasty when soaked in spices & garlic. Hank’s does a nice job with the little critters. You’ll need a body bib and plentyOnapkins handy.

Who knew so much happiness came in a small shelled creature. But is does and that happiness is amplified at Hank’s. I was let in on the secret a few weeks ago and am in debt. There’s quite a few reasons why. –the spice. burn, lots of burn, but such a good burn. When you visit, get the spicy version of the crawfish. The mild just doesn’t have the same kind of taste. There are two levels higher than the spicy version, mad respect to those brave souls who venture to that level –selection…from the wings(get the lemon pepper), to the snow crab legs, it’s tough to order something that doesn’t bring tears to the eyes. Yes, tears of joy in addition to tears caused by rubbing your eyes with hot pepper fingers. –crawfish size… massive crawfish find their way to your bowl. We ordered 3 lbs and were happy people by the time we left. The sauce from here is so good, we got it to go. Please, take the advice and bring it with you. It goes on anything. The place isn’t very large, so expect a few minutes wait on the weekends. Use the wait to devise your game plan. There’s way too much delicious at Hank’s to go in without one.
