Dr. Blake and her P.A. Ms. Swett have been terrific. We traveled from out hometown about 4 hours but it was worth it. My husband had been suffering for about a year with horrible migraines-ER visits every month. He finally felt someone care and listened for the first time, instead of throwing more meds down his throat, after a 10 minute visit. His migraines are more manageable, he is back to work, and is learning to live different.

Dr. Blake and her PA, Dionysia Swett, are beyond amazing. I have been to a few neuros through out my life and none of them have helped me with my headaches. I have suffered for over a decade. First visit with Dr. Blake and she let me know I was suffering from Occipital Neuralgia(ON). She immediately set me up with the nerve blocks. If you live far away, go to them anyways. They are so unbelievably worth it!!! As long as insurance will allow it, I will never see another neuro again!

I’ve had headaches since I was a teen, and last year I decided I had suffered long enough. After being referred to a headache clinic that had dismal reviews across the internet(including several people who were recommended surgery as a first course of action!!!) I started combing the web for a better headache doc. Consistently, Dr. Pamela Blake was recommended as an alternative, and I even found out some of my friends saw her for headaches as well. So in April of 2012 I called her up… and was scheduled for a September appointment. Oof. I learned that Dr. Blake doesn’t have a lot of openings for new patients, but when I arrived I found out why. Between her awesome PA, Dionysia Swett, and Dr. Blake, I spent a solid hour and a half talking about my symptoms and being examined, and I felt like I was really being heard. After being told for half my life I have migraines, Dr. Blake told me no, I probably wasn’t having migraines. What I did have was occipital neuralgia, which happens when a certain muscle in my neck is too tight and pulls everything over to the other side of my head behind my eye(and sometimes, when it’s bad – the other way, all the way down to my elbow). She prescribed a course of muscle relaxers to help relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders as a preventative, as well as a headache pill that I could take that wouldn’t make me sweaty and nauseous like the other meds I was taking. All subsequent visits have been with Dio, who is great. I keep a detailed log of my headaches, and we go over them each visit, making tweaks to my medication if needed. Going to Dr. Blake has pretty much revolutionized my life, as I am mostly headache-free, and now that I know exactly what causes my headaches, I can avoid the most common triggers and not be buzzing with ten dozen Excedrin like I did before. Dr. Blake is so sought after I regularly meet folks in the waiting room who have flown in from cities like Chicago or LA. Although that long stretch of time before your first appointment may seem daunting, get on the list. If you’re looking for relief from your headaches, look no further.

Dr. Blake is awesome. After being all over the country seeking out treatment for a 3 year old constant headache(NDPH) we finally found Dr. Blake. As a person, she is sweet and caring. She does not rush you and is happy to explain things. Her staff is competent and helpful. If you need a neurologist, Dr. Blake comes highly recommended by us. This is the 6th one my husband has seen in 3 years.
