I was supposed to pick up my rental car Wednesday April 13, 2016. However, when I arrived at the Hertz in Magnolia, they had no cars available to rent because the 3 they had available all needed to be serviced. The worst part about that, the Hertz is literally in the same building as an auto repair shop… After sitting there for over an hour, I was told that I would have to come back tomorrow. I finally picked up my rental car Thursday evening. The seats are extremely stained and the windshield was smeared so badly I had difficulty driving. There was no windshield washer fluid to clean the windows. When I got home I had to Windex them. I have never been in a rental car that disgusting. I will never go back to Hertz again. Worst rental experience I have had to date.

I picked up a car here a few months ago while my own car was in the shop. I used the online reservation service to «reserve» a vehicle. What I found out is that the most crucial concepts of the reservation were complete failures. Both the time and price I reserved meant absolutely nothing to this place. After booking the reservation for 11AM that day, I called in to ask a couple of follow-up questions. The woman who answered the phone had a rude attitude, and a difficult to understand accent. The conversation went something like this: Hertz: «Hello.» Me: «Hi, I just reserved a car online with your location, and I wanted to ask a quick few questions.» Hertz: «Okay, first of all, we don’t have any cars right now.» Me: «Really? Why did your online system allow me to ‘reserve’ a vehicle with you then?» Hertz: «It doesn’t matter what you did online, I’m telling you that we don’t have any cars.» Me: «Uh, okay, when will you have cars available?» Hertz: «Call me after 3 to see if I do.» Me: «Uh…okay…» Hertz: «Bye» Me: «Bye» I wasted most of my day waiting for this car, and had to cancel some plans because of it. No, I’m not a moron, I checked other car rental companies. None of their systems said they had something available. I called back at 3 to see what was going on. The woman said they had a car for me now. «Great!» I thought. I took the Metro bus there, which took me a bit of time(about 30 minutes). When I got there, I greeted the woman who told me to sit down and wait. She messed around on the computer. A man walks in directly to the counter, and she completely ignores me and deals with this guy. Of course he was more nicely dressed than me, as I’m a college student getting around on Metro. I don’t know if this had anything to do with it, but it was very insulting. After about 30 minutes of waiting for the guy to be finished, I go up to the counter, and was told the car I wanted was not available, and I would need to go with a car in a higher class. I asked if I would be charged extra for this, and she says something along the lines of «of course». At this point, I was so late for where I was supposed to be, I just agreed to it, and moved on. I returned the car the next day. It went smoothly, but hardly a concession for the problems I had before. Stay away from this place if you can. If you do need to use their services due to availability and locations, just be aware and be prepared to deal with terrible service.

Picked up the car at with the Hertz Gold Service, walked many miles later within the Rental Car center, I saw my allocated car. Nothing fancy but to my dismay as I entered, there were some paperwork of the last renter. «They didn’t clean the car before turning it around to the next person?» Anyhow, it was late and I was just trying to get to the hotel. Passing a toll booth and paying my fare, the automatic window doesn’t close, it was somewhat stuck and there I was driving on a hwy speeding away from the toll booth… I had to struggle with the open/close button and then the window finally closed. Not the best rental to-date, have had better experiences with other Hertz outlets.
