Love the variety of Asian grocery. Bad customer services(CASHIERS, SEAFOOD workers). One more thing, It would be nice if floor manager to inspect items that are expired and especially fruits, i have spotted fruit flies every where on and around the fruit crates. Unsanitary– Cho HK co day du do, nhung Cashiers va nhan vien o Seafood khong duoc hai long lam. Do an va trai cay, quan ly nen danh thi gio di kiem tra, vi toi thay co ruoi bay vo ve tren thuc an nhat la trai cay, mat ve sinh!

Guess I am a creature of habit but this is my go to place every time I am in town. They have everything Asian and live seafood. They are locally owned and operated right in houston so as the saying goes via Amex. Support the local.

This is one of my least favorite supermarkets I’ve ever been to. I only come here for the convenience because of the surrounding bakeries. Everything is disorganized and obnoxiously crowded. The quality of the food doesn’t correlate with their price. I would avoid if possible!

I love this asian marker in Houston. They have cute snacks in mini sizes. The prices in the asian market is a lot cheaper then VA. Come grocery shop here.

Hong Kong used to be the go-to place for all things Vietnamese. They call themselves a mall, not a super market. While impressed with all the nitty-gritty I can get here, Viet food, CD, books, cosmetics, clothes, fabrics, I choose not to come here because of the foul smell. The quality of their products is also declining. I hope that management will get their act together because this is quite a Vietnamese institution in Houston.

During my last trip here as I was going through the produce section(also note there is a funny smell that lingers in this area, if you’ve ever been here you know what I’m talking about) and I notice that the vegetables aren’t as fresh as other Asian grocery store(just name any other one that comes to mind). I guess I didn’t really mind so I picked out what I thought were fresher vegetables. I strolled along toward the meat/seafood section. I turned left down the first aisle to get something(I can’t remember) and a huge RAT run across to the other side of the aisle. That thing was huge(size of a small cat)!!! I slowly put down my basket of things and walked out very calm. If there is one thing I know is that if there is one rat running around there are more just hiding somewhere in this grocery store they call home/heaven. I mean I’ve seen rats behind Pizza Hut in trash can bins, hell some people keep them as pets. This is the first time I’ve seen one in a grocery store. Eek! Methinks not!

Hey, call me crazy, but a weird smell makes me feel like I am in a foreign country when shopping at Hong Kong Food Market. This place is awesomely weird and I like it. It is very large and offers more than just groceries. It save me 1500 on a plane ticket to go to China, and I can get all I ever dreamt off in one little place. Dragon fruit, fresh shark — with fins and all. Why buy those dried shark’s fin for a zillion dollars when you can get fresh shark with fin for 1.99 per pound. Have you ever tried Shark fin’s soup? I did and it is to die for. So now I buy it in the can and put fresh shark’s fin and my 10 year son LOVES it.

This place is interesting. It’s worth going to, just to walk around and take in the culture, if you’re like me and not used to being in a town with an actual«Chinatown» district. I will say, as an uncultured white girl, I found the grocery store to have a weird smell to it.

I’m a bit surprised that no one has done a review on the Hong Kong Supermarket. This one is okay I suppose. They do have a variety of groceries but the veggies aren’t always fresh. I don’t go to this one a whole lot but the whole thing about the vegetables is the part that sticks out the most in my mind…
