Out of all the cheap airport Chinese joints in the world this has to be one of the worst. To start things off the prices are astronomical for what you get. $ 9.99 for one entrée and rice or noodles yikes. Making matters worse the entrée selection was skimpy, just a couple of chicken options, some veggies and that’s it. In terms of taste there barely was any. The chicken fried rice was completely bland and the Phoenix Chicken and Teryaki Chicken were both rubbery and unappealing. I could only muster to finish half of my food. 30 minutes after eating I began to feel sick to my stomach and low and behold shortly after everything I had eaten decided to reappear . Between the high prices and subpar food, Hunan is worth skipping unless you want to feel crummy about the time it’s time to board your next flight.

Green beans undercooked. Shrimp in fried rice tastes horrible. The noodles were okay but salty and same with the ribs. This doesn’t taste like Chinese food.

Order the Phoenix Chicken. It’s always fresh, hot, and delicious. I get sad if I don’t connect in hobby due to not being able to eat at Hunan. Best Chinese food in all of the airports I have been through and I am in atleast 4 different ones a week:/ I get excited when I land at hobby to connect because I know Hunan and it’s delicious Phoenix Chicken awaits:)

Phoenix Chicken. Order the Phoenix Chicken. The fried rice looks better than it tastes. Salad is great and light. Overall for an airport– I was pretty happy.

Damn this is terrible Chinese food. Panda Express is like 10x better. Everything was mushy and not appetizing at all

Quick tips: Skip Hunan and get your Chinese fix elsewhere. They are Pappas owned so i thought it would be decent, but turned out to be overpriced low quality food. One entrée and side is around $ 10 and two entrée is about $ 13. I would say go to pappasitos instead across the food hall. Food: The Kung Pao Chicken is deep fried and mostly coating and little chicken. The lo mein lacks flavor. If you have to eat here, ask for Sriracha sauce to spice it up. The Phoenix chicken is a sweet and spicy deep fried chicken, but still requires you to wonder where exactly the chicken is under the batter and sesame seeds… Ambiance: Normal airport cafeteria line.

$ 24 for two single entrée dinners– Phoenix chicken and Kung Poa chicken. Neither was good but we ate it because we were so hungry. I’d recommend trying something else in the terminal if you’re hungry.

I got 1 entrée with fried rice and«whatever» chicken which is super sweet. The fried rice was dry. They don’t have options for vegetables like other Chinese fast food places. I paid $ 10 for that meal, and it was totally not worth the price.

The staff is pleasant. That’s it. That is literally the only good thing I can say about this place. $ 20 for an entrée with soda. Lo me in noodles shredded and bland. Rice was bland as well. The two chicken entrees I tried were Kung pao and sea same chicken. The kung pao had tons of carrots and peanuts in it. Not my favorite but the chicken was edible. The seasame chicken I should have known better. All the entrees were down to the last stale, hard scoop. Fresh food would have been nice. The chicken was old and hard to eat. I gave up and threw 2⁄3 of it away. Only ate the 1⁄3 cuz it was 4pm and I hadn’t eaten all day. I was offered spring rolls, which I declined, because they took were old, tattered and kind of falling apart. The tips of them were burnt black. Who the heck is cooking this nasty food?!?

This food was the worst food I’ve ever had at an airport. I paid $ 17 to get a 2 entrée lunch and a water. The kung pow chicken and the other type of chicken I got was completely dry on the inside and didn’t taste anything like what it looked like. The fried rice was plain and had no taste. I wouldn’t recommend this place to an enemy, especially for the price. Go to one of the other million places.

I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews before ordering! For fast food, it was actually very good. Staff was friendly too! Would recommend the schewzun noodles. It comes with snow peas, great combo. It was mildly spicy.

Good way too spicy, and although they had two types of noodles and two types of rice, I was disappointed that the noodles seemed like linguine noodles and not Chinese noodles at all. Houston has a great Chinatown nearby and I am surprised that they can’t get good noodles. Not again, but I am glad I tried it.

For what it is, a fast food Chinese place in the airport, I think it hit the spot. I had the Asian salad with most of the extra veggies and the Kung pao chicken on top. Loved it! Mostly healthy with a little bit of sin, thanks to my asian fried chicken craving. They have a ton of veggies to add to the salad. Baby corn, beets, water chestnuts, bamboo, wontons, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, mandarins, pinapple, cheese, just to name a few. Generous portions and a fortune cookie made me one happy girl. Cici helped me and she was awesome. Way better service than I expected from here. They gave me a sample of the sesame chicken try. I like Kung pao better. Try it out and decide for yourself.

While waiting for our flight to DC, my parents were craving Chinese food and decided to go to Hunan. They ordered Spring Rolls and Teriyaki Chicken with Rice. The homemade spring rolls came in a pair, had a thick wrapper like the ones of egg rolls, and were served with sweet and sour sauce. The teriyaki chicken consisted of cubed white meat sauteed with onions and bell peppers in a teriyaki sauce. It was edible but not as good as Panda Express, Big Bowl, P.F. Chang’s, or the like.

We had lo mein and Phoenix chicken. The chicken was good but I though the lo mein was terrible. My wife thought the lo mein was just«ok». We then had fortune cookies which were some of the blandest I’ve had. It was also 10 bucks for one entrée which for fast food Chinese I find outrageous.

Ugh mistake. Turn around. Do not. Do. Not. Go. Here. It is so not Chinese food that it makes Panda Express look like Chinese food. Nasty nasty nasty.

Been sick all night after eating the wrap. Missed an important day of meeting people here in Houston for a new job. This place should be SHUTDOWN.

Lotsa meat, cheese and cholesterol choices at this airport. Thankfully, Hunan’s(near gate 41) got our veggie options in check! Choose your flavors: beets, broccoli, water chestnut, baby corn, bamboo shoots, mushroom, cucumber, red onions… Heck gimme all of it if you can wrap it! Monkey doubted, but Vanessa’s got skills. She loaded up, wrapped, cut and it didn’t fall apart when I picked it up. Not all the veggies were crunchy fresh. It’s an airport, so you know some is boiled or canned. The usual meats, noodles & fried rice are also offered here if you’re into it. Sautéed green beans, too! I didn’t read the previous reviews before eating here, nor did I get sick. Still hungry? Go grab an apple and/or banana. Thems grow on trees. We all got choices… SEA! HAWKS!!!

I like Panda Express. I really do. But this is not Panda Express. All food at the Hobby food court is overpriced, but this is at least $ 3 – 4 more than a mall food court. Sauces and ingredients are dull and watery, which creates boring food. Steer clear. But thumbs up to the staff that keep the dining room shining. It’s a very clean place to eat some really terrible food.

The worst fast food Chinese I recall having ever. My kids did not eat their Beef and onion and pepper steak. He fried rice is horrible. There are great food choices at hobby just not here.

The food wasn’t anything spectacular but it hit the spot for being the only Chinese-like food in the airport. I had the hunan chicken and pepper steak. Both were palatable and made my stomach happy. The shrimp fried rice though… yeah that thing had been sitting under the lamp for awhile because it was mushy. Oh btw, just a quick suggestion, if you’re going to call it shrimp fried rice, you might want to add shrimp in it. Would I come back next time I’m in Houston? I doubt it. I’ll go for one of the Pappa Bros restaurants, pizza or Wendy’s. Maybe if they played the Gong Show in the back and made you catch your food in containers, it’d be worth the price of admission but this place gets 2 stars and some change from me. Too expensive for the food you get and not enough good times unless you count those trips to the bathroom afterwards.

It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not good. My Asian wrap didn’t make me violently ill like some of my fellow reviewers with stomachs made out of something other than cast iron, but that’s about all I’ll say to defend this place. If you’re in the airport and really want Chinese food then by all means go for it. But it has to be a pretty strong hankering.

Please don’t come here, I made the mistake of eating here during my layover, that night my food poisoning was so bad it induced a seizure. Food wasn’t good either and expensive as hell. Health department come visit this place!

Noodles were Overcooked, too much oil, and looked more like spaghetti noodles than anything else. About the only thing that tasted good was the Kung Pow Chicken. I do NOT recommend this place.

Holy crap ! I should have read the reviews and went with my gut feeling. Something was telling me don’t order this food even though there was some time to kill waiting for the next flight and watching the Academy Awards Red Carpet on the TV monitors. This food is not edible and for $ 10 bucks I should have donated money to Charity and saved the Calories. The Fried Rice was dry and I can not even tell you what the other items were suppose to be. Really read the reviews, this place is not good.
