I’m new to Houston so I’ve been trying random places. I’m glad I stumbled upon this place. The humus was delicious and the mushroom pizza was so good. My mom and I had two different alcoholic beverages and were very pleased. Fast service, great food, fantastic drinks!

Food was delicious! I had the Greek omelette which had a side of potatoes and a salad. The service was very good, my water and coffee continued to be filled. I am here on business and I plan to come back for dinner while I’m here this week.

I went there for the first time and I’m really impressed, they have plenty of dishes to offer so you’ll get confused what to order first. They have a mix of American and Mediterranean food. Acceptable prices, and the service was good.

Parking is awful due to construction, but there’s complimentary valet, so not too bad. Service was slow when the restaurant wasn’t that busy. One of the wait staff said he’d refill my water, but that never happened throughout the entire meal. They forgot to get a lemonade for one of us. Their service was off during our visit. The food: the kids’ meals were okay. The quesadilla was extremely tiny and was not enough to fill up one of the kids. The cheeseburger with fries and chicken fingers with fries were large portions however. In terms of the adult menu, I got the organic quinoa salad, which was good. I did wish there was more leafy greens in it; there was too much quinoa. The roasted red pepper hummus was nothing to praise either. My cousins ordered the Greek salad and the gyro. The salad was okay and the gyro was pretty good according to my cousins. One good point was the fluffiness of the pita bread, nice, light, and warm. Probably not another visit by me anytime soon…

We love the jalapeño hummus with extra cucumbers — so fresh! The southwestern Caesar salad with crab cakes is another favorite. Consistently great food and always pleasant service. I loved every employee over the years. The brunch is also a Houston Tradition. Thanx Hungrys!

Oh, dear — we had some pretty horrible food delivered to us today. I’ve dined in and ordered out for years, so maybe the regular cooks are sick. The lemon pasta was over cooked and the sun-dried tomatoes were thrown in as an afterthought. Garlic salt really made it worse. The Tuscan grilled chicken … hmmmm. The chicken was Tyson grade(processed) and the sauce had a distinctive curry taste(it was served with rice and lentils). It was horribly oversalted and after two bites, I knew it had to be thrown away. I hate throwing out food, but it was THAT bad. The side salad arrived with no dressing. Although plentiful, it looked like expired bagged greens, the kind you see at the grocery store. I’ll stop now, but put in one last word… YUCK.

I came here for my birthday. We had a big party around 25 – 30 people. Usually for a party that size they would require you for a minimum and a preset menu, but this place didnt. I made my reservation through Unilocal and they just called to confirmed. Quick and simple. Food and drinks were decent, but the service could use some work. Our waiter was pretty slow.

I was pleasantly surprised after receiving our meals. I ordered the tortilla soup and it was by far the best. The flavor was great and had the perfect spiciness. Our party was satisfied with their meals as well! They had salads, sandwiches and quesadilla. They had no complaints about taste. I also discovered I like hummus and topped it with pitta bread! I would eat here again.

This place is good to host a big dinner party. I came here for my friend day on a Saturday afternoon. There were 25 of us and surprising only one waiter for our party. Therefore, the service was slow but I feel the waiter pain. Steak and eggs(3⁄5) and flight of mimosa(5⁄5) Overall, it’s a chill and friendly place with complimentary valet.

Came her for a bday part for 20 ppl. The service was slow idk why they had one person serving us. The food was okay wasn’t fabulous for the price. Just Norma food like salad, brunch and sandwiches. They are a bit over priced for the food. Mimosa was good I got the mimosa fight 3 for $ 10 better deal than 1 mimosa which cost $ 6 a glass. They had complimentary valet… def was hard to find a parking

So it’s busy season which means work on Saturdays(ugh), and having to drive downtown on my weekend(double ugh)…the only bright spot of this life until April is food, and it better be right. I’m put in charge of coordinating lunch on this working Saturday downtown from our area on the 38th floor. I try Hungry’s because they deliver, and leaving to get something and come back when you’re paying(employer’s paying) $ 30 per park is not a great idea. Hungry’s does have an awesome website from which to select each person’s order, and you can make some order customization from the site, although not all options for every entrée is available. I was able to still get what I needed ordered however, and I think their site is better than most. The delivery driver followed instructions given and call me on my mobile to come down and get the food once he arrived. It would have all been fantastic and this point if we had everything we ordered, but we were missing an entire order(Quinoa Salad w/salmon) and this is a problem, I called the restaurant and«Marco» came to the phone and said, «What do you want us to do? Send it?» Why yes… yes, that is exactly what we want. In about 20 minutes we had the order, and the one person left out could eat lunch. Not the end of the world, but certainly not a good start. On the food… I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, no bun, subbing the fries for a greek salad. Except that it was on a bun causing the cheese and sauce to be all over buns I ultimately threw out instead of the meat where I wanted it. The dish itself was delicious, but it would have been MUCH better had they actually given it to me the way I ordered it. No one else seemed to have any problems with their order once we received everything. I’m sure we will order from there again because they do deliver, but I will be calling once I submit the order to ensure everything is in order the first time.

This is a bustling little café in the rice village area. It’s very well lit and family friendly but noisy. Wait staff were attentive and kept my water glass full. I ordered the southern crispy chicken with eggs. The Anaheim chills cream sauce on top was delicious and made the dish! The potatoes were well seasoned and the eggs were made just right. I liked my dish a lot. My friend was not a huge fan of her soup and salad though.

I’ve read reviews on Hungry’s for the longest time, and a friend suggested we try it out for dinner. I can see why they are regulars here. The food and service was fantastic. It’s a small restaurant in the Rice Village. Be ready to valet your car because it’s the only way to park on property. It’s complimentary so it’s not a big deal. It’s nice to be waited on like that from time to time. Make sure you bring your nice clean vehicle so you don’t feel out of place lol. The restaurant was not too crowded at around 6:30 for dinner. We were immediately seated by their really professional and friendly staff. The menu consists of a little bit of everything to satisfy most cravings. They have everything from all American dishes to Mediterranean and other dishes in between. I went in thinking I would order one of their burgers, but I ended up ordering the southern chicken fried chicken. I’m so glad I did because it was amazing. The breading was different than the traditional chicken fried anything you would ordered. It had a reddish color to it and it was seasoned perfectly. It came served over garlic mashed potatoes and topped with a delicious poblano sauce instead of regular gravy. I believe there was brocolli and cauliflower too, but that was just an afterthought compared to all the other deliciousness on the plate. Everyone ordered different things and we are known to pass plates around to taste and see what we might order next time. My wife got the gyro plate, my daughter got a cheeseburger, and my son ordered the philly steak baguette. Every one of those items were awesome. One of my friends ordered the mama’s meatloaf and it was better than my mom’s meatloaf. Luckily she’s not on Unilocal,so I can say that without fearing repercussions. I wanted to try the bread pudding, but our bellies told us otherwise. As much as a loved everything, I subtracted one star because of one mishap. My daughters burger had a hair basically baked into the bread. After she found it, she was done eating. The manager came and apologized like crazy and assured us the staff is properly covered and no one in the kitchen even had that colored hair. The bread is brought in from an outside vendor. With all the great reviews and Zagat awards given to this place, I believe him. He did comp that and asked if she wanted a fresh burger on the house. Her appetite was ruined, so she said it was ok. We still enjoyed the meal and had a great time regardless. I’m sure it was an isolated incident. We will definitely back to try other stuff and want to try the brunch as well.

This place is so nostalgic for me. I went to Hungry’s during every vacation/break in college — Thanksgiving break, winter break, spring break, and summer break. Yup, every single break and every single year. Though it’s been a while since I last dined, I was craving Hungry’s(mostly that delicious wedge salad and the yummy jalapeño dressing) when I came home for the holidays this year. Sadly, it just wasn’t the same. The Baja Chicken Wrap with the wedge salad always did it for me. And to be honest, it still does. However, when I saw the price increased from approximately $ 9 to $ 12 over the past few years, I was shocked. Trust me, I love that flavorful Baja Chicken Wrap as much as the next person(especially when dipped in the jalapeño dressing), but $ 12 seems a bit steep to me for a wrap and a side salad. And that $ 3 price increase accounts for way more than inflation. Am I right?! The food itself was just as I remember it and the service was fine as well. However, for that price there are many better options in Houston and it’s definitely not something I would go out of my way for. As my sister’s friend said right before we went, overrated and overpriced.

We had a big group come to this place to eat. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The place was clean and the servers were very attentive to all our needs. Our friends in Houston come here often. The next time we are here, we will be coming as well.

My friend is trying to lose weight and basically watching what he eats. Meal prepping kinda takes away the fun out if dining out. But sometimes it’s okay to simi cheat but not go crazy. This is the restaurant for that. Most of the menu is kinda healthy.(Kinda) Okay so it’s located in Rice Village Arcade over on Rice Blvd. near Greenbriar. They have complementary valet because of the small lot. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. The restaurant is pretty laid back. Nothing too fancy.(Don’t let the valet fool you for being upscale) The service here is pretty great and the staff seems to be very informative on the items. While I was seated I did see several delivery drivers picking up orders. They also do catering. Check them out. Oh and the shrimp tacos are EVERYTHING.

I absolutely love the spicy shrimp tacos they have. So my coworker and I went in on a Thursday morning(10.50am?), we couldn’t decide what to eat so we decided to try this one out since we passed by this place. My coworker wanted to try new places with burgers and pizza and I wanted tacos. We didn’t expect this place has alllll of them. So coming here was a great idea. I ordered shrimp taco, both of them ordered teriyaki pizza and smokehouse hickory burger. The pizza came in squares lol not what I expected. I tried a piece and it was great! Not like it’s superb but it’s good. The burger was a let down to my coworker. He said that it didn’t come with bacons but it came with ham.(He’d take the bacons over ham anytime.) I didn’t try it so I can’t really be a judge of that. I did try the fries that comes with the burger. It was pretty good. I think it was perfectly salted in a way it didn’t get too salty nor it being too bland. I ordered shrimp tacos for $ 13 and it comes with black beans. There are three tacos with a small bowl of black bean in the middle. the taco come with lettuce cucumber spicy shrimp and stuff I think. I absolutely love it! :) this is a must try if you come here I think(I love seafood). They offer lunch too starting from 11−3pm I think. But it is all kale salad or quinoa, so I didn’t get them lol. The only thing is I think the service is a little slow. We came out of the restaurant about 12pm. Recommended! :)

The food is out of this world, everything we had, with the exception of the rice and pita bread was divine. Gyro was full of flavor, great mix of meat, bread, sauce, onions, the skewers(beef & chicken) were so moist you didn’t need a knife; the beef was a little overcooked for my liking but still tasty. The spinach dip was soooo good. Rice was bland. Like lacking any soul at all. Even a little salt would have perked that bad boy up. Pita seemed store bought, meh. Service was fair, took awhile for our guy to fill drinks(they sat empty most of the meal) and to check on us, even though the place was pretty bare for a Friday evening. If I’m in the area again I would go back, not worth making a special trip for.

I. Love. Hungry’s!!! I can’t believe I’ve never been here until my coworkers took me here. They were surprised that I’ve never been either especially since it’s so close to work. I’ve been here twice– once around lunch time and another a little before dinner time– both on weekdays, neither times too crowded. My favorites in order– 1. Baja Chicken Wrap(I think that’s what it was called(it’s been a while)) 2. Kale Salad 3. Margherita Pizza 4. Hummus and Pita Everything. Was. Amazing. And the portions are huge! I could eat one half for lunch, and save the other half for dinner. I can’t wait to return for happy hour!

Such a great brunch spot! Went a few months ago and when you arrive the parking lot is intimidatingly small but they had valet for no charge, tip only. There was a short wait time when we got there at 11:15, but the staff was friendly and accommodating to our group of 4. Crab Benedict– loved it! The crab cakes were a good portion and not an overwhelming amount of hollandaise sauce. The only downfall was the bread it came on was a little chewy which made it tough to cut and then messy when biting into it. My friend got a vegetarian omelette which they enjoyed and the waffle came with a healthy dose of strawberries and sauce on top, yum! They also had a Philly cheesesteak type item which was also very flavorful and good but again the same chewy bread. Would definitely go there again!

Went here for Sunday brunch on Easter weekend with 9 people & was really disappointed. The parking lot was full so we found street parking easily, not that big of a deal. It’s an airy & bright décor with loads of light from the windows. The staff were ok, not particularly attentive or welcoming. There seemed to be a separate Easter brunch special but it was not offered to us as an option. Half the table odered the eggs benedict, all of our eggs were overcooked so we had to send the back & they were returned 10 minutes later but ½ eggs were still over done. We were hungry so we just ate it anyways. The raspberry mimosa was unremarkable as well. The brunch really fell flat for me, I might go back to try there regular menu since that seems to have good reviews.

This was THE place that my roommates and I would always go to back in my college days… mainly because it was always open later than most places. Back then(5 – 6 years ago) Rice Village didn’t have as many dining options compared to now. The food has always been tasty and the prices were good. It’s not mind blowing food but the option is large from burgers to pastas so there’s something for everyone! I like the ambience and staff have always been very friendly! It’s not mind blowing, but it’s still a good place to check out. :)

Hungry’s is very under-appreciated in my opinion. A lot of people think it’s overpriced, but I disagree; I think the food is great and way better priced than a lot of restaurants people rave about! I’ve been here for lunch and for dinner and it’s never very crowded. The inside is nice, but not anything special so I prefer sitting on the patio. If you get nothing else, order the hummus trio platter. I don’t know what it is, but I’m so addicted to Hungry’s hummus! All three are amazing and suited to different tastes, but I love them all. It’s really creamy and fresh tasting, and they serve it with really fresh buttery pita slices as well as a bunch of vegetables. I’ve come here before and just ordered drinks and the hummus platter and been completely satisfied. Definitely my favorite hummus in Houston. But as far as actual food goes, you can’t go wrong with any of the salads. They’re large and fresh and worth the price. My favorite dish, though, is the chicken and avocado pita. It’s so good and simple while still tasting delicious. My only complaint is the service — the waiter I’ve coincidentally had every time I’ve been is super friendly but not very diligent, so I always had to ask him specifically for more water or for the check. Other than that, though, I love going to Hungry’s for a nice lunch or well priced sit-down dinner!

Warning… Parking is limited, but after 5 pm, valet parking is available. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. The poblano chicken is an entrée that is not listed on the menu, but can be ordered. Chicken breasts on top of garlic mashed potatoes and covered with a delicious sauce. Besides parking, this place is a winner.

We will keep this simple and short. Because there is no reason to waste time when a gem is waiting on you to din in! Fresh, local, delicious, and so reasonably priced. The Penne Rustico with grilled shrimp was $ 15 and if it was socially exceptable. And my stomach could magically instantly grow I would have licked the plate clean and maybe ordered another plate :) But really out of 6 of us we all loved our food! The burgers, past, and gyros are delightful! Only thing I don’t enjoy is the hummus. I’m middle eastern so to me, it taste canned but that’s such a small thing to me since I’m always eating hummus at home, I just don’t order it here.

I work in the Medical center… one day at work I’m feeling super hungry so I start Unilocaling restaurants in the area that deliver. Read reviews for Hungry’s and decided to give it a go. A few Unilocalers recommended the salmon wedge salad… and it just so happens that I LOVE salads… so I ordered it. Food is delivered and my hunger is peaking! I open the Hungry’s bag and pull out my clamshell container… What an epic disappointment… expecting a carefully constructed and professional looking salad but instead got a single wedge of iceberg lettuce with a few strips of salmon… I’m sorry, this shouldn’t even be considered a «salad»…I could make a better salad than this when I was ten years old! I was so offended by this display of culinary carelessness that I called the restaurant… over the phone I was explained that this is exactly what the«wedge salad» is…1/3 wedge of a head of lettuce w salmon on the side… speechless… This is seriously a menu item? Hungry’s…I’m gonna need you to try harder… WILLNOTBEORDERINGFROMHEREAGAIN!!!

I’ve only gone to Hungry’s twice and have had excellent experiences both times. While the service has been nearly-perfect, minute mistakes are more than compensated for by excellence in other areas. I’ve only ever eaten outside on their patio. However be wary of falling leaves in the fall. We had 3 leaves fall from nearby trees onto our plates during our lunch. Be just as wary of falling french fries.(Yes.) Our busboy dropped a french fry on my shoulder when he was handing us our plates. He was obviously new because he also left all the dirty plates from our appetizers in the center of the table. Besides these small caveats, our experience was impeccable. I really loved the seasonal Fire Roasted Beet salad with crab cakes. It was a twist on a kale and quinoa salad and was absolutely delicious. The lemon zest vinaigrette and beets produced a fabulous flavor when mixed with the kale. It was an amazing dish that I will get again and would recommend to any lover-of-greens. My friend had the Penne Rustica and absolutely loved it. The portions are big enough to be full and take left-overs home! The one thing I don’t enjoy about going to Hungry’s is having to valet. It is necessary as their parking lot is so small. I look forward to not having to valet when the new location opens. It’s just next door to the current location, and judging off the concept picture, it will be beautiful! However, the lot has been under construction for over a year now, and I would not expect it to open until late next year. The only option to valet is parking your car far-off in the Village. I do not recommend it because it may take you 20min to find a spot at any time of day. Hungry’s is very busy at any time of day. Expect a reasonable wait time, if you’re really hungry, order a starter! I’m a fan of their hummus, spinach & artichoke dip, and their black bean soup. Note: the spinach & artichoke dip also comes with pico on the side, which contrasts well with the creaminess of the dip.
