Copied and pasted from my review of Uptown Park Dental: I was looking for a new dentist after moving from Clear Lake to the Heights. After some googling, I found this place and decided to give them a try. One of the first things wrong with this place is that no one greets you as you walk in. They can see you and know you walked in, but they’re too busy talking amongst themselves or doing something on the computers to even look up and acknowledge you. Second problem with this dentist office is the loooong wait. I’ve been here for cleanings twice. The first time I waited about 20 minutes before getting called back. The second time it wasn’t quite as long, but if you think the waiting is over just because you get called back, do not be fooled. Both cleanings had me waiting at LEAST20 minutes in the chair(after the assistant came through) to see the actual dentist. Also, they apparently only do real cleanings ONCE a year. Everywhere else I’ve gone in my life, you get two cleanings(with polish) per year. At my second cleaning, they told me that I have to make sure and let them know that I want a full cleaning ahead of time because otherwise they just scrape for plaque. What the heck? So during my 2nd visit there, I was told I had a cavity. DAMMIT. First cavity in over ten years. I was bummed. I was then told that because of the location of the cavity, they needed to use an inlay vs a traditional filling, which naturally costs more. I paid about an extra $ 100 for the inlay because they told me it was the best option and would last much longer. Flash forward 6 months, the inlay comes OUT. So much for long lasting. I called, and they got me in very quickly. Dr. Moore put a sealant on it and said that should do it. The next morning, it came out again. I wasn’t having any sensitivity, so I put off going in for a little over a week. When I did go in, I was told they would have to do the traditional filling now since the inlay wasn’t holding up. GREAT. So I essentially just flushed $ 100 down the drain. The cavity was refilled and it’s been a couple months at this point and I’m still experiencing some sensitivity when I bite down on certain foods(might I remind you I had NO sensitivity when the filling was out completely). I have never experienced this before and it’s enough to make me never go back. Why would I?(I should add though, that once you’re signed in and all the staff that you do talk to are all very nice and helpful.) Long waits(they overbook by a LOT so the dentist is constantly leaving you to go work on someone else) and, in my experience, the dental work performed was shoddy, at best. Next dentist I go to will probably have to fix the filling I’m so unhappy with.

NEVER going back there! I have had a filling in just about every tooth in my mouth so i’ve been going to dentists for a long time. I have been going here for a few years and everytime I tell myself not to go back and after today I will not. These people don’t even say Hi to you, don’t tell you their names, don’t address you by your name, don’t tell you what is going on, they just leave you with cords hanging out of your mouth for 10 minutes so they can talk about where they’re going to happy hour. I just had a crown put in and not once did they say anything to me… not a thing! Dr. Moore is ok, but certainly not wonderful. And their office couldn’t be more boring, blank walls, yawn. I’m going back to my childhood dentist Dr. Allen on Fondren and Westheimer, what a mistake it was to leave him!

Nice office. Friendly staff. Paige is a GREAT hygienist. Dr. Moore is a nice guy and it is all but guaranteed that he will tell you your teeth are amazing. They offer free teeth whitening to new patients. It’s a pretty good deal considering they make the trays and everything.

My previous dentist recently retired and I was extremely distraught about having to find a new Dr(after 20 years!!) to trust with my pearly whites! A co-worker of mine recommended Dr Moore of Uptown Dental. I made an appointment for the following week(my life long dentist had at least a 2 month waiting list). The office is very nice and everyone is super friendly!(The scrubs are adorable) Not only was Dr Moore extremely sweet and I was treated wonderfully, but they also provide free teeth whitening to new patients! Go to Dr Moore and tell them Amie referred you! He’s great! Support great local businesses!!!
