This store has terrible customer service, cashiers were very rude to me I asked to talk to the manager and she was busy talking on the phone while helping me. The cashier was talking with a co — worker while checking my groceries out and messed up my order and blatantly messed up and accused me of trying to get a discount on turkey without full purchase when I’ve already purchased 128 $ worth of groceries. Overall I wouldn’t return.

Came by here to see what this location had to offer. It’s owned by HEB. As you can see by the pictures that I was able to take and publish. I was in the produce section when I was intercepted by a manager named Julie. She was very nice when she asked me to stop taking pictures. I asked her why not? She said because it was a privately owned and they don’t allow pictures to be taken. Huh? A grocery store that doesn’t allow you to take pictures of their products? I told her that I was giving a personal review of my shopping experience in the store. She said she understood but no pictures. She was kind but she tailed me throughout the store. She also asked me to provide her a name of who I was blogging for so that she could notify her corporate office. She pulled out a paper and pen. I told her no worries and walked off. She thanked me for not taking anymore pictures. Very bizarre. A grocery store that’s open to the public yet their policy is no pictures. Really? Never had that problem at HEB nor Central Market.

I’ve never heard of this store before, but its connection to HEB drew me to come check it out. Customer service aside, the stores layout, prices, variety of products, and quality of goods made for a great shopping experience. As others have pointed out, the customer service isn’t all that great, but the prices more than made up for what the workers lacked in this department. I encourage you to bring your own bags as one reviewer has noted they don’t bag your groceries. So if they’re going to encourage you to bag your own groceries, you might as well use your own bags and bag them right rather than use their cheap plastic bags. Also the 20 items or less line was much faster, but I would imagine that regular lines would be much slower. Overall, the store solid. I do forsee that it will become very busy in near future though.

I never knew HEB had a value food store, but knowing HEB is behind it, I gave it a try you can count on a good deal here. Shelves are well stocked, prices are excellent, people. Are friendly. Have been back and will continue going there. I love every form of HEB — from Central Mkt, all the way to Joe V’s!

Good value. Lacks service. Don’t come if you are in a rush. You have to sack your own bags. Cash and debit only. Lines usually move slow. However you can save$$.

Just because you’re a discount store doesn’t mean you should treat customers like garbage. I practically had my purchases thrown at me, was ignored when I asked the cashier if she had scanned my paper towels(when I got home I saw the receipt and guess what?), and felt like I was being punished just by being inside this store. Not sure where your hiring pool is from but you should get some better employees than the rude, dirty crew you have there. Yes, they are dirty, clothes wrinkled, hair messy, chewing gum, the worst store HEB has. And you sold me expired crawfish ettouffe from the freezer. I will not be returning.

JoeV’s is where I get most of my groceries from. They do not have all of my all natural or organic products that I eat, but they have a lot of stuff I buy. It’s a warehouse design grocery store that is from HEB. The prices are absolutely great. The store is clean & well organized. They are completely better than Walmart in my opinion. I have had a basket full of groceries thinking I was well over $ 100, but my bill ended up being less than $ 80. Due to their prices being low, they do not accept credit cards(you have to use debit). Finally, you have to bag your own groceries.

Joe V ‘s is something. Indeed it is. Yet I do have a sole purpose for going to Joe V’s. Joe V’s is part of the HEB grocery chain. Think of it as a cleaner discount grocer meets a warehouse grocer. Joe V’s is the offspring. HEB brand type items like Hill Country Fair and others along with very few name brands are sold here in bulk with a few singular items. I saw this while browsing the store but can’t say much about these type items because they are not what I shop here for. What I can say is that the foods didn’t look stale and past all hope of freshness. So, I suppose all is well in that aspect. The store was organized and it was easy enough to maneuver around and find exactly what we came here for. The employees were friendly and the line at the register moved along nicely. My one and only purpose for coming to this and another Joe V’s location is to buy soda made with sugar. A nice, big case of the sugary good stuff that equals out to around a dollar apiece for each soda. I’m not a soda fiend or even close to one but on the occasions I drink a soda, I only drink those with sugar. I’m picky that way and to me the taste is unequalled. The case of soda lasts for a good amount of time and it works for me. I don’t know all the exact criteria that makes Joe V’s a smart shop. Maybe the bulk buying? I can’t say. Nonetheless, it is smart of them to carry cases of «sugar soda». It fulfills my needs and makes Joe V’s okay by me.
