My contractor helped me purchased apprx $ 600 worth of plants, shrubs and flowers here, quality is good but I didn’t like the fact that they asked my contractor if he wanted them to charge me
More $ so he can get a kickback and bring them
More business… I wasn’t present and that’s the kind of shady business practice, Really?!
Having a picture of Christ in front of your business apparently doesn’t = ethical business practice

Cheap prices but BAD BAD BAD BAD customer service and so typical of some Asian owned places where they are so very rude to the African American customers.
I read the reviews and went there today to find a lemon tree. The parking lot is super small and the place is large so I tried to find the lemon tree on my own first. Then I walked back to the front where there was an older Asian man near the counter and a woman behind the register. When I asked him where the lemon trees were he pointed in the direction of them. He was speaking in Vietnamese to a fellow Asian who just standing there and I guess I disturbed them with my attempt to get customer service.
I walked to find the tree and then walked back to the front to ask him literally if he could help. He then walked back there and pointed it out. The tree was in the middle of an aisle and I would have never found it on my own. I said thank you for helping and he walked off in a huff speaking something in his language under his breath. Bad service!!!

Vietnamese run nursery with tons of exotic fruit trees, flowers, Vietnamese herbs, and so much more. You name it, they have it. I wished they had small carts to push around as your buying but since the pathways are too narrow I can see why they don’t. Great place to check out if your looking for something outside of the norm. Prices are great in comparison to Home Depot and Houston garden nursery. I bought various Vietnamese herbs, blackberry bush, and a tomato plant all for under 20.

Good varieties of plants at reasonable prices. It certainly not as organized as home depot but well worth the visit.

This place is not your sterile Home Depot, Lowes, or Garden Center; and it’s certainly not like Buchanan’s fawning-​over-​customer-​service; but it does have an incredible variety of healthy plants and ceramic pots at excellent prices. It’s a maze of narrow pathways, and I didn’t see any carts, so I just brought stuff up to the cashier area, put it in a pile and told the guy I would check out later. He was cool with that. There are also these random cats that just lounge around. Love it.

If you are looking for exotic tropical plants, you will most assuredly find it here. Actually they have absolutely anything you might want: bonsai, annuals, perennials, houseplants. But visiting this place is such a miserable experience, I discourage anyone from going to this place. There is no rhyme or reason to the way plants are arranged, its just a bunch of stuff situated wherever there’s room. There is some signage and pricing information but it is in a foreign language, perhaps Thai, nothing I recognized or understood. Parking is a monumental problem, and so is getting around the nursery, customer service, checkout, ad nauseum. I don’t think the workers are rude on purpose, it’s simply that they’re not trained or prepared to handle more that 5 – 10 people at a time and on weekends the place can be a madhouse, very frustrating for all parties involved. Parking is ridiculous, I had to park ½ block away, in a private residential area, and feared that whole time that I might be towed away. Pretty bad experience, there is NO plant that justifies this hassle.

It has a great variety of plants. We bought a camellia, a fragrant olive, and a clementine tree. I also found air plants and silver drop eucalyptus there. Very interesting.
The price is quite low, much cheaper than the home depot. The three trees and some air plants only cost us 60 bucks.
Will definitely come back!

This is the most amazing and beautiful nursery I’ve ever been to. They have a fantastic selection of exotic plants I haven’t seen anywhere else in Houston. The prices and quality of these plants are unmatchable. The hospitality was wonderful! I’m in love with this place! Can’t wait to go back!

If you are looking for exotic fruit trees then this is it.
I was looking for Asian pears and kumquats and sure enough, they had several varieties, and the prices were very reasonable. The parking is a bit tricky because it is limited by space. But if you know what you are looking for and willing to help yourself then you will be rewarded by your visit.

If I could give this business a 0 I would. My husband and I went here yesterday looking for some potted plants (trees and herbs) and were completely at a loss. The guy at the counter either could not answer my questions or would not. I tried to ask him for help and received absolutely zero help. Since we had driven out of our way to come to this nursery we decided to look around anyway. None of the plants are labelled with anything more than just a sticker tag and were disorganized. It was hard to even walk around. Half of the plants looked sickly and there was also some plants and artifacts arranged haphazardly or knocked over. I have never been more disappointed with a business.

Look for the big Jesus sign on the feeder road and there you are. I would use your gps though to help you out, it is easy to miss. They don’t have a lot of room in the parking lot, but it wasn’t busy when we went so it wasn’t an issue. If you know plants or are willing to look up plant info on your cell phones then this is a good place to you. They do have a few people at the front, but this is very much a diy kind of place. They have a great selection of items though and very reasonable prices. If you want a fruit tree in particular the selection was huge compared to anywhere else I have gone. They do have lots of other stuff too, but that is why I went so that’s what I paid the most attention to. We picked up two fruit trees, plant seeds, and soil and was happy with all our purchases. If you do need help lifting a product to bring it to the front to pay, just go to the front and ask for help. I will be back in a few months to pick up a few more plants and trees.

I bought a small bonsai plant and it was so helathy, I’ve had it for a couple of months and it is going strong. This is not your Home Depot kind of nursery, the tropical and unusual is what ‘s at this place. The plants are well taken care of and wow, the variety. Too bad there were plants and trees I never heard of which is a challenge for me; I do know a lot of plants, but not here. I definetly will become a regular at this wonderful place.

This awesome, huge nursery is kind of hidden from the road. We only happened to notice it driving up Harwin and briefly seeing a bunch of green and pretty colors through a gap in the wooden fence. A quick lookup in the Unilocal app identified it as a nursery with good reviews so in we went.
At first, the poster of a religious figure at the entrance made me hesitate whether this was a nursery or not. It doesn’t have a bunch of visitors. The parking lot fit maybe only 10 cars or so.
I found the biggest variety of Asian fruit trees by far of any nursery here. They also have beautiful flowers, bonsais, and even Asian vegetables growing in pots. I don’t know the names of a bunch of the Asian fruits and vegetables. Some fruit trees found were mango, pipaa, papaya, guava, peaches, fuyu persimmon, lime, orange, grapefruit, dragon eye, pomegranate, avocado, apple, loquat, fig, jujube, lychee, etc… Not only do they have all those fruits, there are even different varieties of each fruit tree! Other interesting plants include sugar cane, eggplant, «red flowering quince,» «Buddha’s Hand,» «Buddha’s Hat,» and beautiful desert roses.
The prices are very cheap. A one-​gallon rosemary pot was only $ 4.99. The fruit trees are so cheap that even my Dad considered buying some (and he’s the second most frugal person I know).
The identity tags of the pots could be a little better. Cornelius Nursery pots always have clear and detailed tags inside the pots identifying name, scientific name, best growing conditions, etc…
The plants are healthy and grown well with good technique according to my parents. The nursery is pretty big and packs a lot of plants on their property. I’ve noticed that Asians seem to like turtle figurines; they also have a bunch of turtle figurines for sale.
I took off a star because some of the walkways are a little narrow and uneven. Even clumsy people like me can still maneuver around fine. The walkways are just not the smooth, wide, concrete walkways you find at Cornelius.
JRN Nursery 2 is located along Harwin /​Westpark Tollway about 0.25 miles east of Kirkwood.

I was hunting for Night Blooming Cereus and Rangoon Creeper for a while but balked at the online pricing plus the expensive shipping. When one of the other local nurseries didn’t return my emails or calls, I cancelled my trip their way and happened to tell my Aunt’s friend about the plants I was looking for. She then suggested stopping by JRN on the way to her house. She told me how it was unique and that I might find something there… and find it, I did !
Parking was a little crazy and getting there was tricky if you didn’t go to that part of town a lot (fortunately for me, I did) but we were greeted with sweet smelling calamansi and double bloomed sambac jasmines. Yes, the kind they use in tea. I was floored by the prices as they were $ 4-​$ 5 less than Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Houston Garden Centers when they do have them.
As we entered the green house, I was so happy to find all sorts of succulents that I never thought I’d find here in Houston. I found 5 different colors of my Night blooming cereus instead of just the white and in walking around, I found various other fruit trees like Chico, Caimito, Balimbing (star fruit), Longgan, Sereguelas, Mangos, Avocados, Custard Apple, Guyabano, Tambis (sugar apple), dragon fruit and even my Cacao tree… yessss the very Cacao tree that we make chocolates out of, THAT ONE.
I will definitely go back and take my other garden crazy friends with me. Their selection is very good and their prices so cheap. I can live with the crazy parking anytime.

You know those gorgeous yellow flowers that you see everywhere during Vietnamese New year’s? Typically here in the states, they are fake trees/​flowers, but they have live trees here! My mom was so excited. Pretty unique nursery, definitely worth checking out. They have a sweet little gray kitty that roams the property too :)
I came away with a bonsai and some small figurines (old man fishing, house and bridge) and my mom left happy after seeing lots of plants that reminded her of the motherland. Next time my aunts/​uncles/​elders visit, I’m taking them here for sure!

My favorite nursery for plants and trees. I only buy plants from local growers. Because the climate in Houston is very humid. If I bought a rosemary plant from a grocery store, which came from Florida, It probably will not live very long in my house.
Also, they carry freshest sods in the summer and fresh cut Christmas trees in the winter.

Do you like to garden? Are you into planting tropical fruits? Do you have an Asian fetish? This place is no Houston Garden Center. It’s a nursery full of exotic plants, trees, flowers, and herbs. I had no idea this is where my parents and brothers had been going to get their Asian plants for the past few years. Dude, this place is awesome!
Mangosteen, dragonfruit, Venus fly traps, various orchids, kaffir lime trees, persimmon trees, blah blah any tropical fruit or flower or plant you can think of, this place has. I was amazed! And the prices are get out of here cheap. Beautiful, big orchids were $ 12 – 18 where I had been accustomed to paying $ 30 at Whole Foods for the past couple of years.
The staff is mostly Vietnamese and Latinos but they all understood my English, so don’t be scurred to come check this place out. Parking is kinda cray cray, but oh so worth it.
I’m so excited to have my own yard and plant my own fancy fruit garden. So much fun!!!

It’s a bit tricky to find this place. It’s on the southside of Westpark, and there is a divided median, so you need to be heading eastbound. There isn’t much parking, and there is no nearby street parking. OK. I’ve set the scenario. There is so much stuff here, put on your grubby shoes and enjoy. There are all kinds of unusual and «exotic» plants and particularly fruit trees that I’ve not seen in any other nurseries. Now, don’t expect wagons or carts, or even anyone to help. It’s strictly do-​it-​yourself. The minimum credit card charge is $ 10. I love just looking around. It’s sort of like a scavenger hunt. They, also, have a limited supply of pottery that’s out of the ordinary. Someone told me their orchids were cheap and good buys, but I found the same price at Kroger’s. If I go back, it will be for the fruit trees, not orchids.
