Best kolaches in Houston! Ham and cheese are the best. Spinach is the second best and even better with mustard.

With so many options available downtown, this has been a staple in rotation for years. Now with added ingredients such as bbq and steak, they just bought themselves an additonal year before my re-evaluation. Always a short line with available staff willing to recommend pastry.

Friendly service. So-so food. I’m not a kolache connoisseur but I feel like the one’s that were recommended to me lacked significant flavor :\

Ok. I neglected to check in due to my rushing to get in for an online order… that I didn’t realize I placed for a different location. oops! But the lady who I talked to call the other place so they wouldn’t charge me! Lifesaver… so then I placed that order with them and I have to say thank you again! Now it had been years. I mean a decade at least since I have had a kolache factory delight! Er ma gerd… love the sausage & gravy, the spinach and the fruit ones. all of them! I had to refrain from eating more. since I had bought them to share with my officemates! lol I went through traffic, high water, $ 5⁄5 minute parking and rain to get these and they were worth it! :-)

I’m not a health nut but I do try to make wise choices when it comes to food. We have had these little treats at the office on numerous occasions, usually delivered by a vendor. I have to say, maybe they are best when they are still hot, because once they have sat in the break room for a spell they really turn out nasty. The inferior cheese coagulates and they get rubbery and chewy. Not a Kolache fan so take my review with a grain of salt…

Friendly service with a great selection of kolaches. I decided to go with the sausage and egg one as well as the sausage and gravy. Yum. Hit the spot and a good alternative to the traditional fast food places. Tasted fresh!

Kolaches are magical husks of awesome enveloping magic creatures, so much so, that it pains Hagrid in a deeply disconcerting way(like the voices crying out in terror that one time I destroyed Alderaan on a double-dog dare) every time one of the magical creatures is slaughtered, assembled into a ranchero kolache, and then eaten gleefully(or scarfed down right meow, depending on your style.) Centrally located to most white collar ballers of downtown underneath Two Shell Plaza in the tunnels where Death Eaters congregate for some eatin’, just a stone’s throw from the super-packed McDonalds every morning where the winding line chokes the tunnels as every accountant in Houston waits for his McGriddle, I am smart like a fox and duck into the empty Factory for some quick and friendly service instead of waiting in line. Because only suckers wait in line for breakfast. Workers are friendly. We talk about the Factory twitter feed. Workers work quick. That is why there is no line. What is up with McDonalds and their lazypants lollygagging on the fryolator? Kolaches are delish, especially when hungover. The ranchero could have my babies as far as I am concerned. Except the only complaint is that the kolaches seem smaller than at every other Factory. Portion control? I will have none of that!

Very busy location with no seating area. Basically go order and take it to your office kind of deal… Kolaches are good just like at any other of their locations… Rancheros are by far their best :)!!!

I love me a good kolache. These are a little more mainstream than some of the traditional Polish places, but they are still delicious. My fave is the Ranchero. I work in the building above this location, so I come here often. Consistency is pretty good. There have been a few duds(dough either over or undercooked), but whatevs. The main reason I’m giving this place 5 stars is the staff. It’s like they actually enjoy their jobs or something lol… bizarre. They are always so friendly.

I was never a kolache fan, til about a week ago. I found them to have a weird smell to them.(I know I know, but they did!). Anywho, a couple days later my boss brought some into work, and the pizza/mushroom ones were an absolute yes for me! I’ve been back a couple times now, but I never try any new ones. i’m sticking to the pizza ones. I go to the Gessner @ I-10 location. They’re are always smiling and provide fast service… plus the kolaches are seriously cute with their round shape :)

I’m a new fan of Kolache Factory and I’ve found myself stopping in here more and more on my trips downtown. The biggest differences at this location are that there’s no soda fountain, they are not open on weekends(like most if not all downtown businesses in the tunnels), and they appear to be geared more towards to-go orders than most other KF locations. They do, however, offer mostly the same menu as other KF stores in Houston and there is a seating area around the corner from the store that appears to be shared between about four or five restaurants in the vicinity.

Kolache Factory is located in the Underground. After an early morning jog in Downtown, I ran over to the building at 777 Walker and proceeded straight down the escalators to try some kolaches. My college friend told me that these Polish treats are great in Houston. Until my January trip here, I had no clue what a kolache was, and had never heard of the word. I tried 3 kinds of kolaches. I liked the original Polish Hot and the Texas BBQ kinds out of the 3(the other was sausage, egg, & jalapeño). Yum! What a great way to start the day. Kolache Factory is a take out place. It’s East Coast equivalent would be a donut place. I hear that out of the Kolache places in Houston, Kolache Factory is one of the worst. I couldn’t tell b/c I thoroughly enjoyed my kolaches.

(This is a review for all Kolache Factories, not just this location.) Kolache Factory doesn’t just serve your standard pigs-in-a-blanket kolache. They have all sorts of delicious flavors. Some of my favorites: BBQ Beef Potato, egg, and cheese Creamed spinach Monthly specials– chicken enchilada, Thanksgiving turkey Jalapeño and cheese Egg and cheese Fruit kolaches I get three for a meal(about $ 2 each) and leave stuffed. This location also has half off all kolaches after 1:30pm. All Kolache Factory locations open early in the morning but close early afternoon so no kolaches for dinner.
