I need to update my review. For a while ther this store was seeming more and more like a convenient store. They still don’t compare to sprouts as far as healthy items but selection is getting better. The items they do have ex: almond milk and gluten free cereal, GF bread are less money than sprouts or HEB sells them. They also have some items you can’t find at the other stores. I was really impressed with my sales clerk last visit she was very nice and loved her customers. Normally I can go there and not speak to a person the entire time. From shopping to checkout. They carry on conversations between themselves but this particular visit got an A+‘rating from me

Perhaps I’m just spoiled of the Kroger on 1960& Eldridge. Completely not by my choice I found myself at this Kroger to pick up a few items. Upon pulling up into the parking lot, my first thought were, «okay this doesn’t look like a Kroger’s I want to be at as the parking lot is already too small and cramped.» So I continued. I get out and walked in and my first impression was, «OMG why am I here, this place is allot smaller than the 1960 location and a bit dingy and cramped.» So I continued. Attention immediately came to my nose as the smell of fried chicken completely overwhelmed me. I approach the deli area and someone asked me, «Sir my I interest you in some fresh chicken.» Not being hungry, I said«No, I’m just looking,»(reluctantly). So I continued.(It looked so so so so so so good.) First item on the list, Hansen’s soda with pure cane sugar and no HFCS. «Argh! The don’t carry it.» So I continued. Second item on the list, whole organic chicken to rotisserie later in the week. Much too expensive there. So I continued. Third Item on the list, FRE alcohol removed wine. Searched high… search low… search in wines… search in bears…15 minutes later… found 2 bottles on the very bottom shelve next to the grenadine. This may be petty to you, but to me… I was not a happy shopper. Again, I may just be spoiled from the larger store on 1960 that is much better organized with better prices and a cleaner fresher store. But for me…“Meh. I’ve experienced better. I will return to try that amazing looking fried chicken they cook there. It looked and smelled impressive. Eat Well and Prosper.

This Kroger has gone downhill over the past two years. The produce is not fresh and the aisles are filthy. I know they remodeled the store last year, but that didn’t help. The Kroger on Grant and Louetta nearby is so much nicer.

We go here out of convenience to our house but most of the time we drive to HEB. Their produce always seems old and sad. The people who shop here also seem a bit haggard. But it’s a grocery store and if it’s close to your house-who cares? Oh and people might kill you in the parking lot… everyones driving around like they are on a mission to stockpile food for a hurricane.

I don’t like the way some of the aisles are set up, you have the floral department right behind the cash registers, so basically you have to walk around it to be able to get to anything, the aisles aren’t assessable from all angles, so you have some hallways. Its a little weird. We have found that they have good clearance items if you go really early on Sunday. The gas station is actually cheaper than the one closer to our house, but not as cheap as the Kroger farther down Jones randomly. If you live in this area its a good place to go, but if you need to make a quick stop then keep going. We go at night most of the time and they close all the doors except one on one side, literally there is only 1 door you can go through, cant even go through both sides. They are 24 hour, so it is very convenient, but sometimes not worth it.

This Kroger has a very nice feel to it… it is spacious, well lighted, and is kept very clean and well stocked. Since it is a larger store(maybe too large) it has a huge selection in all departments. The staff there were welcoming(with a smile), asked if they could help us, and especially helpful at checkout. I especially like the self checkout option and was especially nice was that the person that supervises the four checkout stands came to us to check our ID(we bought wine) which I haven’t seen at other stores that have these types of checkouts. Bottom line… if I lived in this area it would be my preferred grocery store.
