Dr. Kwan is THE BEST! I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else. If you want a doc that takes time with you, treats you like a person, is warm and wonderful and SO SMART, then look no further!

Dr. Kwan has been my doctor for 24 years, and my entire family goes to her as well. As the other reviewer has attested, she is an excellent doctor. Her exams are very thorough. She takes time to listen to your concerns and visits with her are never rushed. She sincerely cares about her patients.
I prefer the fact that she does not take insurance, because it gives me transparency into my healthcare costs. Her rates are affordable, and they have not risen like so many other healthcare costs have over the years.
I wish there were more doctors like Dr. Kwan!

If you want high quality care for your vision, then Dr. Kwan is an excellent fit. While she does not take insurance, the visits are affordable and well worth the out of pocket expense for three main reasons:
1. She takes a lot of time to examine your eyes and runs a full gamut of tests every exam which takes more than the 10-​min exam at most HMO and copaid exams. And she does this every time I have seen her in my over 20 years as my trusted doctor for my eyes.
2. She provides keen and insightful education about treatment options and how I should handle my glasses, contacts, and eventually LASIK choices. If it were not for her, I think I would have gotten worse care, worse prescription information, and worse results for my eyes. My eyes are so important in the work I do, that any less education and I would have probably done something bad to hurt my eyes. Her thorough walk through of options and pitfalls throughout the years has proven invaluable.
3. She really cares and loves the work she does. I cannot express how she is model for her profession (among the best eye doctors) simply due to the fact that she loves what she does. She cares for her patients and their eyes on a yearly basis and for any other major issues.
So if you want a superb optometrist to take care of your eyes, I would try her.

Dr. Kwan is gracious and professional. She makes you feel welcome to her practice. I have been getting great eye care there for 10 years!
