I’ve had issues with this place before, but today was a new low. I sat outside to eat breakfast. Covered my food and went in to get more coffee. There was no Half and Half and the carafe was gone(assume someone was filling it), so I asked for some and waited. Nothing. Went back outside to wait, and the birds were eating my breakfast. Moved that out of the way. Waited. Went back inside to get Half and Half, still nothing. Finally just left. There were at least 4 people working out front(who knows how many in the back). Very disappointed, especially since I have not had any issues at several other locations in Houston.

Omg how can you be out of eggs Benedict and caramel? I wasn’t happy about that. The food was great and the service was not horrible but it wasn’t great. The ambience is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect! Great for breakfast and devotionals with a friend like I did today!

Pretty good, but as my friend pointed out, you wouldn’t expect their eclairs to be halved, which is not the«real way»! I will go back and try other things.

Cute little place. We came her after dinner for dessert. Everything I had was good: fruit tart, coconut cake and chocolate cake. Chocolate cake was the best. The coconut cake was mild and not rich.

I love La Madieline, we have been to a few of their locations around Houston. They serve good French food and everyone raves over the tomato soup! The décor is a bit like stepping into France with the dark wooden rafters and some locations have a stone fireplace. I would give them four stars if they would install baby changing tables for families. Twice my wife and I have struggled to change our son in the restrooms. A big turn off for us, considering most restaurants in Europe offer this convenience.

Unbelievably poor service. This is the third time in one month we went for breakfast. Each time wrong order. Apparently there is a huge language barrier for the person taking the order. Even repeating it correctly, once served, it’s wrong. Forget trying to replace the croissant with a muffin. Impossible! Save your ticket because you need proof that the order was messed up, otherwise there is denial! Complain to the manager and one gets the deer stare in the headlights! Go to the store on Kirby if you don’t want to start your day wrong, otherwise you will need more than Tums!

Favorite place to grab my pre-spin snack. Service is so friendly and they have the best fruit tart. They are also located a short walk away from my spin studio making it way too easy to stop by here before class.

La Madeleine is such a strange chain. Who would have thought that faux French food would become so popular, especially in a cosmopolitan city like Houston, where the real thing can be easily had, although not at the speed one has become accustomed to from the likes of McDonalds. I hadn’t been to a La Madeleine in years, perhaps even a decade, when I was asked to meet there for a business talk. Eschewing the tempting baked goods, I opted for a made-to-order omelette which was OK. The coffee is mediocre at best — this isn’t real«French» brewed coffee by any means, so why label it as such?

The portions given at this restaurant were very small compared to the other franchises portions. The taste of the tomato basil pesto pasta was also slight my less definitive than the other stores and took away from the experience. The croissant was horribly stale and tasted more than two days old. The service tried to make everything more expensive and was very insistent when not necessary.

Awful awful awful service, the manager/s should be so embarrassed of how terrible and unprofessional their staff is. Next time I want to wait 30 minutes after having called in I’ll go somewhere else!

I like that you can get a small meal here. I am glad to see it is now classified as an American food restaurant. That’s good because if you expect something of French quality you will be sorely disappointed. Case in point: the quiche Lorraine. The filling is like eating scrambled eggs. I want a nice egg custard in my quiche. My DH ate the bean soup – just so so. If you are not expecting much it’s OK.

I absolutely love this place. I come here almost every day for lunch. They have the best grilled chicken and best oatmeal cookies!!!

I meant this to be the update but for some reason it posted the previous review. I was incredibly impressed that the upper-level management contacted me regarding this issue at the restaurant and put forth every effort to rectify it. This shows their incredible level of professionalism and concern for their patrons. To me that shows what I always imagine this restaurant to be like. I will definitely go back based on that! I’m giving a five-star because of the professionalism of the upper management. In regards to my first experience that prompted this review that is still one star.

This Lamadeline just doesn’t have everything that the others do :(but it still has some of the best like the tomato basil soup and the almond croissants

I feel like this place used to be better. The chain as a whole doesn’t have very good service and some meals are better than others. However, their fruit tarts are one of my favorite things. So good!

The lines can get really long and sometimes is not worth the wait but today I was lucky and got there just in time to beat the crowds. I got a chicken cesar sandwich but it took a while for it to come out. When it did arrive, I had to ask for more lettuce. Normally I have never had a problem but maybe because they were so busy my order was overlooked and then rushed.

It’s hard to find a highly rated restaurant in this part of Houston. I ran over 3 miles, walked another mile and was really hungry. I figured I may as well give this place a try. Not disappointed. This place is cozy, cute, and the service is great. I walked in grabbed a menu and ordered at the first counter. I ordered a spinach and strawberry salad, chicken crêpe, fruit tart, and Cabernet. I was handed my salad and a number, then proceeded to the register. There I was give my drink and the tart. I grabbed my tray and found a seat. Close to the fountain drinks is a bread bar. Get some sliced freaked baked bread and some butter or marmalade to smear on it. This I loved! I was then served my crêpe which was freshly cooked. The salad tastes good, nothing out of the ordinary, my wine was delicious, the bread with marmalade amazing, and the crêpe was great. A great blend of chicken, broccoli, pesto, tomatoes and creamy sauce. Honestly I am not sure why this place has low ratings I was really satisfied. To top it off the service is great. They have a lady who busses the tables, keeps everything clean, and is really attentive. She notified a customer who left his keys and returned them to him. What more can you ask? I really liked the atmosphere I could see myself coming here to study, read, do some research, or just relax. H

Not the best La Mad, the potato gallette was overcooked, dried out — same as the chicken and rosemary quiche. Staff were inattentive and standoffish and it was just an all round average experience. First the Sugar Land one and now this one, La Madeline seems better in theory methinks!

I was disappointed in this La Madeleine. The dining area at this location is tiny and smells… off, like old dishwater. Parking is even worse, and if you don’t see a spot on the first pass, you basically have to exit the lot and circle back around on the(very busy) streets. My potato galette was actually tough, as if it had been sitting under the warmer since the morning. The Caesar had about three or four total croutons, even though it was ordered as a main. Maybe bread prices are up? I did enjoy the French onion soup. Normally, La Madeleine is great for lunch with coworkers, and you can try to eat lighter by going for a soup/salad combo, but this location falls short of the mark. Luckily I felt that the pricing was fair. The menu would be great if the execution were there. I still like the rustic feel of the interior, but the rest I’ll pass on. The French would be embarrassed about a place like this.

La Madeline’s? Oui oui oui! Hope that didn’t make me sound like the nursery rhyme little pig. Or maybe that is exactly what I should sound like when I am in here because I always feel like a little piggie when I leave there! I fell in love with La Madeline’s in New Orleans. I was living in Florida then and we didn’t have one. I was so excited when I moved to Houston and realized that it was here. While I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants I am a HUGE fan of this one. La Madeline’s is consistently good no matter the location. Their soups are delicious, their mushroom gravy that gets ladled over dishes, their flaky croissants are all so yummy.
