This is my first time writing a review, but I just had to when I ate at this restaurant. I am a Vietnamese person and I’ve tasted a lot of phở and noodle houses, but this restaurant deserves recognition. I ordered the Hu Tieu Mi Sate while my friend ordered the Com Thit Nuong, and they were both amazing to eat. My food was spicy, but that made me love it all the more! The service here was really nice too! The waiters were friendly and helpful when I asked about the restaurant. They told me their specialty was the Hu Tieu I ordered and I understand why since it was so amazing! This place is where you go if you want to eat noodles. The restaurant was also very clean and had a friendly environment, so it should be fine if you have children. All in all, this place was really good and I’ll definitely head back again! XD

Prices have gone up. Service is still good. Small phở is $ 6.75. Very little meats and tripe was overpowering. The broth lacked of spices and house chili sauce has too much vinegar/sourness. It was not as palatable. Sadly, we have to find new phở place.

While trying to find more interesting breakfast options in the Chinatown area, my mom, hubby, and I came across Lien Hoa on a Saturday morning. Conveniently located in a relatively new strip mall on Wilcrest off of Bellaire(the same strip mall that has Vibe Lounge), Lien Hoa has plenty of parking in the front. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, but the service is still a little novice and slow for a Saturday morning. We started off with some Café Sua Da(Vietnamese coffee) and Nuoc Mia(freshly-pressed sugar cane juice), which we all really enjoyed.(I always love it when there’s a hint of citrusy kumquat in the sugar cane juice!). As for food, we all ordered the Hu Tieu Bo Sa Te, which is a tasty flat rice noodle dish with tender slices of beef soaked in a yummy peanuty sate sauce. The only complaint I have about it is that it’s a little small in portion, but that might just be because I’m a fattie at heart and wish that I had more to devour. While this dish doesn’t make me want to go back for more every week, it’s a nice alternative to your typical phở and bun options at other restaurants.

If you like Hu Tieu or Mi, you should try out this new place in Bellaire area. I had the Hu Tieu Sate Bo and it was so tasty. It’s not spicy at all… I also had Mi Vit Tiem and it’s much better than any other place in Bellaire area.
