The purpose of this review is for all Buyers Beware! There are many dental clinics to choose from in the greater Clear Lake area. I choose this location about a year ago because I had not had my teeth cleaned in a few years. My first impression was excellent professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I decided I was happy with them and scheduled my upcoming visit that landed in January. I went in for a routine cleaning everything was at expected little wait time and straight to the cleaning process. After the assistant did all the work Kathryn would come in and examine my teeth. Everything checked out as expected I have never had any cavities, gum disease etc. I take my teeth seriously. She asked me if I had any issues. I told her my bottom retainer which I had put in after my braces were removed 17 years ago, had some bulky cement that didn’t really make me uncomfortable, but it always felt odd on my tongue. I asked her if there was something she could do otherwise not to worry about it. To my surprise she said of course I can, Ill try to grind it down. It was the right side of my retainer so once she was done it felt much better. Well two days later after the cleaning the left side of my retainer came off. I called them and set up an appt and they received me the next day. I asked them if there was going to be an additional charge for this. I figured not since this was directly related to the original work that was done 2 days prior. I then receive a bill in the mail 2 weeks later. I proceeded to call the office and the assistant stated she doesn’t deal with billing even though the phone number to call is directly at the top of the invoice. I left a message with her since the office manager had not come in yet. I received a call the next day around 12pm or so. Great customer service right. The female I spoke to stated she was the office manager and her tone was extremely defensive, hostile and generally annoyed that she had to make this call. I explained the issue and her response was my dental coverage doesn’t cover orthodontic work. Ok I said but this was a direct result from what Kathryn had done days prior leading up to the retainer coming loose. She started using technical mumbo jumbo that was honestly very patronizing like I was an Idiot and couldn’t dare question the Dental Hygienist. Not to mention she told me about 3 times she was also a dental hygienist.(Good for you)…She attempted to bargain with me as if she was doing me a favor by covering %50 of the cost to cover Kathryn’s time and materials are you kidding me! Choose wisely and ask questions if you decide to do any business with this clinic before you get any work done.
