The food here is amazingly good, if you have never had mongolian hot pot before you would even be more hooked after trying this. The soup is heavenly. we always get the half original and half spicy broth. the house special sauce is the best. we have not yet to order from the all you can eat menu because it seems to be less choices than the regular menu, since our favorites are the fishballwith roe, jap pumpkin, kobe beef and such… which are only on the regular menu. Service itself has always been great every single time from a small family of 4 to a big group of 12. The manager, Dan, was always super nice and helpful. Overall, this place is def among one of our most favorite places to eat in town.

I came to the hot pot place during winter break and it was packed to the brim. There were definitely large groups of people waiting to be seated, so I suggest to not come to this place during the holiday weekends because it’ll seriously get packed and you may have to wait awhile. My friends and I got the All-You-Can-Eat for $ 22 where you can order many items and many servings of those items in three rounds and honestly, we barely got ourselves past two. Of course, we had to pay for the sauces but it’s like chump change, so I don’t understand the whole general grumpiness about the sauces in the other reviews. It’s fifty cents and the serving sizes of the sauces are fairly large. We split the pot in half with one side having a mild soup and the other side having a spicy soup. Both tasted great — I always prefer the spicier option myself and their spicy soup base really brought the heat. We also ordered some Mongolian lamb skewers which were incredibly juicy and tender. In terms of service, the restaurant seems to be understaffed — I didn’t see any employees sitting down or casually roaming around. These are young adults just running from place to place tirelessly trying to manage so many tables and carry so many items as well. However, they do get the job done and we never had trouble communicating our orders to the waiters. Damn, seriously, this place gets packed, but for good reasons — the portions are good, the soup bases are delicious, and all in all the ambience of the place just gives makes it so much more communal and lively with good company.

Worst experience ever at little sheep! My friends and I went to here after picked up friends at Houston. We ordered small amount each time(we don’t want to waste food). But when we tried to order some more beef after the 3rd round, one of the waiter somehow rejected my order. DUDE it is a buffet, and I should have right to eat as much as I can eat. That’s freaking nonsense to call this restaurant a buffet when u stop serving food after the 3rd round! I used to be a big fan of little sheep hot pot, but now this place just ruined my childhood memory(I grew up in China and my city is full of little sheep hot pot)

I’ve tried a few hot pots, and Little Sheep does a good job of it. The variety of offerings and the price isn’t bad for the amount of food you can order. The location Bellaire is nice. It’s very well decorated, there’s plenty of space and you can see the food prep area and see what’s going on. The booths are nice and comfortable, and there’s high backs in them so you don’t have to stare at people while dining(or make a huge mess on your table). The one grouse I have about the dining ambiance is that it has pretty bad acoustics, so it can get loud. Both times I’ve been here staff has been polite and attentive, which can be a rarity for restaurants on this stretch. Food here was great; I love the seafood and vegetable options available. You can order half portions off a la carte, rather than full amount; the half portions were more than enough for both my husband and I. Not sure how this location has such low reviews compared to Westheimer. For me, this locatoin is much better, as it’s bigger and feels a lot cleaner. There’s plenty of parking outside and we’ve never experienced any waits. Can’t quite understand the heat about charging for sauces; .50 cents won’t break the bank, and you get a pretty hearty portion of it. We ordered 3 in our last visit and had plenty to spare after dining.

Since the last time I dined at little sheep(maybe a year ago?) they’ve now started offering an all day all you can eat option for 21.99 per person. Do it. Somehow we missed it while we were being seated… was super disappointed bc they charge for even sauces now! Service is pretty paltry– with everyone ordering like crazy, getting seated with full waters and the correct items is a challenge. They misordered several items on my final bill that had to be fixed. Overall though, I may consider just doing hot pot at home for a fraction of the cost. But nothing beats spicy, hot lamb soup on the 3 cold days in Houston!

Don’t bother going to this location. They’ll try to rip you off on the quantity you ordered and short you on the items you want. I would rather go take a further drive to the Westheimer location which had much better service and is usually generous with their food portions such as the lamb and beef slices. The chef’s special sauce comes out in a tiny cup that barely serves 2 – 3 people while the Westheimer location portion of the sauce can serve at least 4 – 5. There was a lot of «cost savings» going on which made the experience somewhat unpleasant but the food was still pretty decent. But if you’re going to charge $ 22−23/person, I expect not to get screwed over when I’m at a table of 5 people. Never coming back after 2 tries at this place!

I wish there is a zero star. We ate here today. The service was terrible. They took away the sauce table. That us not good. We came here for the sauce. It is ok even we have to pay for it. We will never come back here again and will Not recommend this place to friends and family.

we use to frequent this location. they used to be really good; fully staffed, always stocked up on their sauce bar, broth and quality were superb. but after visiting this evening with my family, it saddens me to say that we might not come back to this place. 3 reasons: first, there were not enough waiters running the tables. before, there would be a waiter for every-lets say 3 tables. and now there are only 3 waiters-for the entire place. next, THEREISNOMORESAUCEBAR! they charge $.50 for condiments! what kind of hotpot joint does not supply sauce?! lastly, the broth isn’t what it use to be. the broth use to be a lot more intense, and now it’s pretty bland

This place used to be good but now they just suck. No more free sauces and service is really slow. The food was just average.

Saw my Realtor friends posting about this hotpot restaurant. Came by to the Bellaire location to check it out. The ambience were so awesome! Every décor on the wall was detailed to the theme and the amazing wood craved barn door display was candy to my eyes! Lol Food was presented in very nice plates and bowls, hot pot soup base was excellent with just enough spice to make your lips swell up! Just a bit of time to understand the ‘all you can eat’ buffet rules and we were ready to try it out. Condiments are billed separately but that’s ok. Not a biggy. Fish was fresh and we like everything we ordered . Just one suggestion — if they have a couple more variety of soup base, would be awesome! Value for money and excellent service. Will definitely come again.

Delicious hotpot. Went here with family for the first time. We were seated in a nice private room which was awesome!!! The broth is good. There are many items to choose from to put into your broth. The dumplings were good. Perfect for cold and rainy days. The meat skewers were also good. There’s a weird funky smell in the restaurant(so i was extremely happy when we had our own room) but i couldn’t figure out what it was. Maybe i was just having an off day… But the food was good!

This used to be my go to place just because of the free condiment bar but since that was taken away there is nothing else that can rival the other location. The service here is mostly a miss with me getting into it with some stoic middle aged lady that tried to control how I am to eat my hot pot. If I want it boiling hot, let me keep my pointometer at 20 and if I’m tired of getting evaported broth in my face let me keep it at 6, stop coming by and shaking your head everytime you want to touch it ok? The only good thing I can remember about here besides the former free condiment bar is there is plenty of parking and it’s not because this place gets that busy. There is a valid reason for that. Save yourself some time, enjoyment experience and headaches and take yourself 20 minutes down the road to Westheimer and try that location. Everything there is just about the opposite of here from the service, to the parking to the amount of customers here. Yes, that last part isn’t such a good thing but you know the other location is doing something right if it’s alwways busy right? Live, prosper and Unilocal on.

We came here on Thursday night, the place was near empty, and that means plenty parking space. The all you can see hot pot is always good here(although I’m always disappointed that they charge extra for the sauce) The service is barely ok, even though there were maybe 6 tables in the entire place, we had to wave our waiter down every single time even when we wanted the bill.

Pretty terrible updated experience. We found a bug in the soup. So we immediately stopped eating. We called the manager out and he confirmed it was a bug but explained it as just part of the vegetables not being washed correctly. That’s not really a valid excuse. Then he tried to offer a new broth… we did not want to touch anything else at this point. Then he offered 20% off the total bill. Which is quite ridiculous with most of the food still uncooked on the table. He did come back with a 50% discount. To me that was still not even at this point but I went ahead and paid so I could just leave the restaurant as soon as possible. I was totally disgusted and about to vomit. I’ve eaten at many hole in the walls in my days but never had a pretty decent sized bug come out in full form before. Never again.

I came here for dinner for a table of 3. We were seated quickly and we were given the paper to order what we wanted for the hot pot. I thought this place was supposed to be all you can eat hot pot but it’s not. You can order up to 3 times before you have to pay additional. Mongolian Kimchi(2⁄5): It looked like the Korean cabbage kimchi served in Chinese restaurants but it tasted different. I didn’t enjoy it too much. Potato salad?(3⁄5): It was crunchy and lightly spiced. It wasn’t very good or very bad. Neutral. Hot pot soup base(3⁄5): We ordered the half and half soup base. I thought the soup base was a little off. The spicy soup side had a lot of spicy pepper with no taste. Very bland. The non-spicy side had a milky color with cloves of garlic and ginger, and other stuff. Meats(5⁄5): They have a wide variety of meats. For some reason, I didn’t enjoy the chicken too much. You can’t go wrong with beef with hotpot. Vegetables(5⁄5): They have a wide selection of vegetables and they are served fresh. I really liked their tofu, bok-choy, mushrooms, and cabbage. Sauces(5⁄5): The spicy sauce and the non-spicy sauces for hot pot were really good. The sauce with garlic, green onions, and bean-like paste was really good. By the end of the meal, we were overstuffed and it was definitely a lot of food for 3 people. My only complaint about this place would be flagging down a waitress. If you needed something you had to look around for your waitress. Overall, the food was good but I would only return with a bigger group!

Note: Don’t wear nice clothes if you don’t want to smell like Mongolian hot pot spices hours after you’ve finished eating… I came here for dinner with my family on new years eve and I definitely reeked of spices for the entire night post-dinner. My parents came here expecting the $ 22 all you can eat hot pot, but were informed that the other location off of Westheimer was the«buffet» style hot pot. This location is where you order a set meal for two, four people, etc… And then order additional meats, sides, appetizers, and/or vegetables. The ordering process is very similar to ordering sushi, you will receive a paper menu which lists all the combinations of soups(e.g., half spicy, half not spicy, beef broth etc…) and the set menu items. We ordered the set menu which included sliced beef, vegetables, root vegetables, and noodles just to name a few; additionally, we ordered side items like lobster, seafood, and other types of vegetables(napa cabbage, spinach, and«A-choy»). This was a ton of food! We went to the sauce station and got some«Chinese BBQ sauce» which is indeed, «sa-cha jerng»(traditional Chinese hot pot sauce). Mix it with some soy sauce and customize it with scallions, ginger, sesame seed oil, and chili sauce for a nice kick. The beef skewers as appetizer were extremely tender and wonderfully seasoned. Would highly recommend ordering them. THe soup broth is filled with herbs, garlic, chilis, goji berries, and sweet dates. Seems like that’s what makes the soup base taste so Malaysian! yum! There’s no real«art» or «skill» to eating hot pot… Just take the raw ingredients and boil them in the soup until they’re cooked. :) voila! Easy peasy.

Funny story. I once came here with 7 people and 3 people checked off things to order. No one checked off the ½ order option. So after they finished bringing all the food out, there was almost an ENTIRE tray of food for each person. Was it fun eating and laughing at how we could have probably ordered for the entire restaurant? Did I enjoy having leftovers for days? Check and check. However, I was a little upset that the waiters didn’t confirm if we really wanted full orders or ask us if we wanted to change some orders to half orders before they brought out the food. Instead, they complained that they had to bring out so much food like negative nancies. Some people just don’t think, ya know? Anyways, Mongolian Hot Pot has an all you can eat location on westheimer for about $ 22/person, I believe. So if you go, and can keep the budget around $ 15/person, you can still be really full and save that extra money for dessert somewhere in chinatown! PS. I love love love the sauce station and here is what my family likes to order:

It was my first time here with my parents and I’d like to point out that service is not all that great. We walked in and waited to be seated it seemed pretty hectic. It took a while to be seated too and I felt like there was no hostess to be found. There were more people coming in behind us waiting to be seated and it shouldn’t have taken that long. We got seated in a booth, and not even 10 minutes in, a family of 6 or 7 comes in needing the banquet room, but from the looks of it, it was occupied. So two waiters were running all over the place looking for a table for that family and they end up coming to the booth I was sitting at and they kept apologizing and asking if we could move to another table. At that time, my mom was pretty frustrated and hungry, she didn’t want to move, so the waiters found other seats cause to be honest there were literally other available seats open. Moving on, we ordered the deluxe combo for 2 since our waiter suggested that it was enough. We ordered the yin yang broth which had a spicy side and original. Overall, the hot pot experience was okay, except for the service. Their menu has a lot of ingredients that you could order from and it varies by prices depending on what it is. I think it is a bit pricey in my opinion. I do like the fact that they let you take home whatever is leftover if you can’t finish your hot pot.

If you never had hot pot, go to Little Sheep. If you had hot pot before, go to Little Sheep. As a part of a franchise that extends from China to California and recently Texas, Little Sheep will deliver the ultimate hot pot experience to you! What is a hot pot? You get a pot of hot broth(Spicy or non-spicy) and raw materials to cook in the broth. Raw materials can range from meats, seafood, vegetables, and other goods. While you can order a la carte, I highly recommend ordering the two-person deluxe for $ 26, which comes with a huge load of vegetables and two choices of meat(Beef, pork, lamb, fish). Trust me, you will get the bang of the buck with this combo because you and your friend will be guaranteed to be full after that deluxe! But if you are not, LIttle Sheep also has many great delicious sides including Mongolian meat pie and potstickers. This restaurant offers a solid experience in terms of cleanliness and food quality. There is even a multitude of dipping sauces for you to blend to fit your personal taste. I never had a disappointing experience after taking two groups there!

Growing up as a kid, my family lovedd eating hot pot, especially during winter times. Like drinking hot chocolate on a cold Christmas night, hot pot was the Asian way of staying warm during the winter season. I personally have never liked hot pot, mainly because my family just boils the food in an extremely bland broth and dips everything into soy sauce. I’ve never really enjoyed it until I tried this Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant. If you didn’t know how hot pot works, you basically order a load of raw food, which you would proceed to cook, by yourself, in a giant pot of boiling soup. Mongolian Hot Pot basically has two flavors to choose from: original or spicy. I’m not a big fan of spicy foods, but the first time I dipped something into this spicy soup broth and took a bite, I fell in love. Even though I would start sweating profusely, I could not stop my hands from shoving the food into my mouth. The flavor is so intense that there was no need for sauces. Caution: I usually remove half of the chili peppers from the spicy broth at the beginning because the spiciness tend to get more intense as you let it boil and marinate into the broth over time… Some of my favorite items are beef tendons, Napa cabbage, sweet corn, enoki mushrooms, etc. The WIDEPOTATONOODLES are a must! They are clear, flat noodles that are extremely chewy. You also haavee to get the FISHTOFU, a new item they recently added. Don’t know how to explain, but I definitely guarantee that you won’t regret ordering it. The downside from this location is that they don’t have certain items that the other location carries, such as deep fried dough sticks, FRIED fish tofu, beer beef, etc. I would give this place 6STARS if they did because those are at the top of my favorite items for hot pot. Upside to this location is that the sauces are free and self served. So you have the option to concoct your own special sauce.
