Service was terrible, I waited over 30 minutes for my food and it was wrong. Then they argued with me about what I ordered, I will not be back.

Ok, so I’m giving to the FOODONLY because it’s great authentic Salvadorian food. I love that they have the maracuya drink which is passion fruit, also in love with the authentic Horchata they make. the pupusas are great! They have this dish that is shredded beef in tomato sauce, served with plantains, refried beans, veggies and hand made tortillas. The dishes they serve are typically hefty portions. I swear one dish could be enough for two people. Now the customer service part, I would give it just. This place is usually busy, but Customer service does need improvement with managing their time because they take forever to finally get to you to order your drinks. So you do have to be somewhat patient. After that you order your food and sometimes it does also take some time to receive your food as well. But the food is still good and won’t be cold by the time it gets to you. Other than that, if you can be patient enough, it is worth the wait for the food.

Food was decent the service needs improvement. I waited 30 minutes to get my food and it was not busy. Waitress disappeared and had to flag someone else to help me pay my bill

This place has such horrible service, trust me it’s not worth the food. By the time you get your food(an hour or more later) your appetite will be gone. It took about 45minutes to get 6 chicken tamales to go even though I called ahead to place the order. They said it would be 10minutes, obviously a lie. The place was not even that busy & The girl who took my money then later forgot what I was waiting for. Ridiculous! As soon as you walk in they are rude. The host at the door didn’t even acknowledge us until he finished his conversation with another employee. I’ve given them 3 tries with months in between each visit and the experience is always the same. The employees have bad attitudes and never apologize. This is my last time here & I DONOTRECOMMEND. Oh and I forgot to add that the tamales had gone bad or something because they were extremely sour I ended up having to throw all, but one, away.

Visited Los Pipiles with a co-worker and it was very good! I ordered Pupusa revuelta con chicharron, tamale de pollo, and a side of rice. I also had an agua fresca to drink, Maracuya. Similar to passion fruit. The servers and host were very friendly. I hope to visit again and bring more friends.

I think I love Salvadorian food! This is authentic. Large portions. My sister, niece and I stopped here before going to a play. My sister said it’s que rico!!! I was able to sample the different fresh drinks and I love the strawberry one. The service was excellent and timely. Amazing!!!

We decided to go here, because it had the best review for the area for Salvadorian food. The main thing I was looking forward to was their pupusas as many claimed it to be very good here. Yes, their pupusas are good, but not good enough for me to wait for 2.5 hours. I don’t get how it took that long to serve a few tamales, pupusas and some other shareable dishes. By the time the food came out, we were no longer hungry but tired and ready to go home. Pros: — The servers were nice. — Pupusas & pickled cabbage were good. Cons: — Servers were nice, but weren’t attentive. — The wait for our food was horribly too long. — It was pretty muggy and warm inside the restaurant. — Their Salvadorian Tamales were a bit over cooked. Sorry Piples, it just wasn’t worth it.

Great, great Salvadoran food at a very, very reasonable price. The servers tend to become easily flustered and overwhelmed, especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Be prepared to encounter a massive crowd during the weekend. Consequently, the food takes up to an hour to come out. Mind you, everything is freshly, hand made on site, so it’s definitely worth the wait. When I’m in a hurry or super hungry, I’ll phone in the order ahead and have them prep everything in to go boxes. They serve Mexican food, but why would you waste your appetite on Mexican food while being at a Salvodoran restaurant??? Therefore, I’ve tried many of their Salvadoran dishes and never their Mexican offerings. I have yet to come across a bad dish.

I come at least once a month, I would come more often because the food is good and the environment is pleasant. The only down side is that they will take a long time to get your food to the table, I mean I understand if is a big group or if the place is pretty busy, but when it comes to serve a party of 2?! Got dragged here again. This place once again took almost 1 ½ half hours to get the food ready for a party of six. It’s not that many people. The staff are incompetent. Crowd is a bit trashy

I think this is the best Salvadoran restaurant with the best atmosphere & best food for the best price in Houston. I’ve definitely been to lots of Pupuserias & Salvadoran restaurants in Houston & I’m not saying that those places aren’t good because they are, its just that this place is better. Its usually pretty busy when we come so yes, there is a wait but what do you expect? It’s a good restaurant & they make your food fresh, that’s why it takes so long. I’ve never had any problem with the service either, everyone has always been really attentive & nice. I ordered the bean & cheese Pupusas & Guacamole Our table ordered Pastelitos de Carne(Meat Pies), Yucca y Chicharron & Empanadas de Leche.(Plantain with custard inside). My boyfriend ordered the Carne Asada & my brother ordered a plate with a little bit of everything on it: a Chicken & Veggie Tamale, Yucca, Refried Beans w/Crema, Plantains, Curtido & a Bean & Cheese Pupusa. Of course I tasted a little bit of everyone’s food & it was ALL delicious! The Pupusas had a lot of cheese unlike some places that are real skimpy with it. The Carne Asada was really tender & had a great flavor & of course the Curtido & red sauce you put on the Pupusas was amazing. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we were already making plans to come back. Everything tasted like it was straight from El Salvador! They also have different juices like Tamarindo & Maracuya(Passionfruit) & they have Horchata. Definitely come try this place, I guarantee you won’t wanna go anywhere else after eating here.

The food is great, but the wait time to get your food is ridiculous. They also have very reasonable prices. The fruit salad drink is pretty delicious!

I ordered the combination plate and it was a bountiful amount of food. The plate lasted me about 3 days! Portions = awesome!!! I’d never eaten Salvadorian food before but after this I’m sure to try more. Service is on the slower side and the waitresses are not as attentive as I’m accustomed to. It was a weekday afternoon maybe 2 other parties there? But oh well. Beautiful interior and good food. Will definitely be back!

Love this place. I always end up going with my bf’s family because they love it too(they feel the taste is authentic and prices are reasonable) and I don’t have to order in my butchered Spanish. The pupusas are always delicious. I get the chicharron, and it’s always very flavorful… kinda greasy, but you’re not coming here for diet food. They also have a mariscada(did I spell that right? Seafood soup?) That is to die for. Cream based seafood soup with tons of clams, shrimp, oysters! very filling. The fruit punch is also delicious, and I hear the entrée plates are also good. I’m definitely coming back for my Salvadoran food fix.

Food is good but service is slow. Has pretty much all the Salvadorian dishes you would want and more. Still it’s probably best to order ahead to go or come when you have plenty of time to waste. There have been several times that I have had to wait over an hour for food. Still the food is good and the reason why I keep coming.
