What the heck has happened to the Lube? My go to mashed taters and corn place. My chopped steak with grilled onions guilty pleasure. This location used to be packed for lunch and dinner. We pulled up at 5:30 and there were about 4 tables with anyone. The drive through was doing a booming business. But literally no one was inside. My food was luke warm. The place looked like it hadn’t seen any kind of face lift since 1975. And it smelled funny. Ya know a little like spoiled milk. The Luby’s selection was still the basics. Roasted chicken, some seafood patty thing, fried cod, chopped steak, all sorts of veggies and those freakin’ awesome Luby’s desserts. But it just felt as though stuff wasn’t clean and Quentin Tarantino was going to start filming some Pulp Fiction sequel at any moment. I love me some Lube food. But I think I will find another location. This one is sad.

The ribeye steam special is a go! My family and I came after Sunday Mass and highly enjoyed it. The dinning room was practically empty, but the it added a feeling of intimacy, which was nice. The food was very flavorful, which I didn’t expect. Everyone enjoyed their meal and our server, Nancy, was a gem. But the people serving at the food line left a lot to be desired, one of the ladies even rolled her eyes when I asked her for sides.

Fantastic Value Restaurant & Great Food! They have thought of everything when it comes to presentation and variety of food for a cafeteria like set up. You can even drive up and pick up food! You won’t be disappointed!

It’s cafeteria food at its finest. You can’t go in expecting gourmet cuisine. If you want a good meal at a decent price, this is a good place to stop. I don’t eat here often but the fact that they sent me a $ 6 Luann platter coupon did sway my decision for lunch. :) Total price with a soda was $ 8.97.

This this was my first time ever eating at Luby’s so I was an open palette. I admit I had absolutely no expectations. I walk in and the place was immaculate– clean and organized. The staff wasn’t super friendly and welcoming but they weren’t mean either. I opted for the ‘all you can eat’ option. Word of advice: if you are NOT really really hungry do NOT get this option; If you are one that doesn’t like to throw away food especially. I got a salad, entrée, 3 sides drink and dessert. The price was great but I wasn’t as hungry as I thought I was. All in all it is a good alternative for American traditional comfort food.

it’s a favorite for old people bc the food is soft: easier for people with dentures to chew. my grandparents love it. LuAnn platter: ½ portion protein, 2 sides, 1 roll for $ 7.99 Cafeteria style so there’s a good selection of meats, veggies, starches, desserts.

Waited in the drive thru lane for 5 or 10 minutes. Had to call to get someone to come help us. Then they were out of my favorite meal and the lady was less than thrilled to be helping us. Poor service! Then it took forever for them to bring us our food. How long does it take to spoon food into a to go box?

Decent. The seafood pattie is one big wad of breading. It was more of a giant fish flavored biscuit. The cabbage is good. The salads are good. The rice was meh. The baked pork chop was quite tough and quite lean. There wasn’t no fat on that bad boy at all. The coconut pie filling wasn’t sweet except in the whipped topping. That pie crust made me wonder about whether or not it was made by Mrs. Winner’s. The waiter was good. Overall the food is fair. Not bad for the price. You won’t go hungry. We’ll check out the other Luby’s around town. I’m sure the seafood pattie will taste better in one of the other Luby’s restaurants. If it looks like it does at this Luby’s, I’m going for the chicken with mushrooms or the baked liver. Both of those are delicious at Luby’s. I’ve never been to a Luby’s that didn’t have good chicken and tasty baked/broiled liver. At least I’m hopeful. We’ll go back to this one if we’re in that part of town again.

I have eaten a lot worse. But, it wasn’t bad for cafeteria food I suppose. I had the chicken fried chicken, white gravy, corn and Mac. Nothing to love and nothing to hate. Really a 2.5 star. But I will give them the extra half due to the lack of decimal points in the rating system. Disappointment doesn’t exist here, but I don’t think satisfaction does either. It’s a solid Meh.

I loved Luby’s since a little kid. I have very fond memories of eating here with my sister and grand parents every Sunday. The food is good and still the same and consistent cafeteria style homemade food. I love this Luby’s because it’s still the classic original style Luby’s. The one I also eat at is the one on Westheimer in the Alief area. This place will always be a 5 to me and the staff and workers are nice and friendly :)

The veggies and bread tend to be greasy. If you are a vegetarian it will be hard to get vegetables that don’t have bacon added to them. The wheat roll seemed greasy and too airy. The place is not cheap. I only went because I had a coupon for a Lu Ann platter for $ 6. But if you want a variety of food along with choices in vegetables and are in a rush, I believe Luby’s is the place to go. The waiter Alfonso offered great customer service. He was very attentive.

Despite the circa. 1985 drive though, Luby’s is a great place to go for lunch or dinner … unfortunately my meal and dessert cost me $ 13 per trip … if it was a bit cheaper I would definitely eat here a few times a week.

Bad! The chicken fried steak I got didn’t even have meat inside, it was mainly fried crust. And myy mom got sick from the fish.

Ahh luby’s, it is what it is. I had the need for some cafeteria food, dont ask me why I just did. This is the place you remember coming to with your grandma. The food is not spicy and its not some fancy place to go, but it works. Had baked chicken and fried okra along with some green beans mixed with bacon. It was good I had no problems with it, my waiter was nice and keep my water full. Price was nice will be back.

By far the worst Luby’s in the state of Texas. I mean, why is there a wait, when everyone know the food is already prepared. That’s all, not worth commenting further,

The food has never been great at Luby’s…it is what it is. It’s cafeteria food and except for a few standouts,(the square fish and the mac and cheese) everything is pretty bland and tasteless. I went there recently and I think I remembered why I don’t go. It’s simply not worth the price. I paid over $ 12.00 for a piece of fish, two sides and a drink. If the food was better it would be no big deal, but $ 2.29 for a glass of tea? Come on. If you’ve never been to Luby’s I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you just really miss your old high school cafeteria.

WHY?! I guess it was the commercials. but for some odd reason. Luby’s it was for dinner. I guess the only mediocre thing i can say about the place is, the service is attentive. But thats about it. I walked out feeling like a sucker. it took us longer to get there than it did to get, sit, eat, and pay. Country Fried«Batter» oops. i mean«Steak» tasted and looked like Shhh. on a plate. The place. it reminded me of eating Sunday Lunch with my grandmother at her retirement home.lol. the review is strictly my personal opinion. Apologies if Luby’s is your«cup-of-tea» … excuse me while i go purge
