I called this salon and was told to come in for a consultation. Once I got there, Kathy told me to take a seat. After I sat for a few minutes, she spoke to another stylist then asked if I have natural hair. I told her yes, then she said I wouldn’t be able to be serviced today. I went to another Dominican salon and received the best blowout ever. I will never patronize Lucy’s, but I am thankful you turned me down because I have found a clean salon with professional stylists to give me fabulous Dominican blowouts from now on!!!

I came here a year ago, and the service was fine. Since then I’ve been natural and I scheduled an appointment. I got there I was basically told FLATOUT that she(not the owner) could not see me BECAUSE I am natural! WTF?! I mean what’s the point of a blowout if you cannot do NATURAL hair?! HORRIBLEHORRIBLE service!

I agree with the previous reviewer. I visited this salon on day because I really wanted a blow out and did not want to drive across town to my usual salon. Needless to say, some stylists are worth the time and effort it takes to make it into their chair. In Lucy’s case, I wish I would have not visited the salon at all. I’m not sure if she just has not cultivated good customer service skills, but she was absolutely rude and not concerned about her clients during my visit. I’m accustomed to stylists automatically giving me a towel and ear cuffs while sitting under the dryer. Lucy disappeared while I sat there with my ears burning and I had to practically go get these items for myself. Further, when I questioned her about the $ 70 charge for a simple blowout, she snapped at me and said her website«clearly states $ 45+» for blowouts. I will never visit her salon again — not due to the price, but rather the treatment I experienced there.

Service was a bit on the slow side, but what do you expect when it is the only Dominican salon located on the north side of town. My experience there was great. I initially went in there for a wash & set, but with the salon being full of clients, my stylist did the wash & blow dry on my hair. The stylist who did my wash & blow dry was Tyciana. She was very sweet & did an excellent job on my hair; came out soft and full of body. Just as great as the wash & set. If you’re a type of person who hates to wait then this is not the place for you, but the results are very much worth it though.

The very first time that I went to this salon, they welcomed my sister & I with open arms. They were very friendly & helpful. They gave advice on maintaining my hair & tried to get to know me as a person and not just as another paying client. Before I went here, I had been going to another Dominican hair salon but it was too far from my home. So when I heard about this place, I was excited to try them out. I am happy to say that I will definitely be returning & I’ve already scheduled another appointment with them. Even on a Saturday afternoon when there was a packed house, I was able to get in & out in a good amount of time. This salon is ideal for women who want to grow their hair out without using chemicals like perm anymore. I used to get perms every month & a half but now I just get Dominican blow-outs once a month and my hair looks awesome! The blow-out actually gets my hair as straight as a perm would without all of the damage of a perm. The prices are moderate & not too expensive.
