M Dominican Hair Salon

I arrived as a walkin 10:45 ish had about a 30 minute wait not bad considering it was MLK day. I got my hair washed then the conditioner was put on I was placed under the dryer for about ²⁰⁄₃₀ minutes. After washing out the conditioner my hair was roller set and I was placed under the dryer for about an hour. After my hair was dry the blowout and straigning process started. I was pleased with my service and will consider returning. The only negative is there were some annoying little kids of customers running around and making touch noise.

I probably won’t go back because I hate 290 and it was really pricey for a Dominican salon but overall it was okay. The set up reminded me of the Dominican Beauty Salon on W. Little York in Katy and they also filter the water they use on your hair.
Pros:
— Myra was super gentle when detangling my 4C hair
— She even scratched my scalp before washing it (I’d just taken out a sew in and there was some dandruff)
— She detangled my hair while still in the bowl with conditioner
— They roll and completely dry your hair before blow drying
Cons:
— This place is expensive! $ 50 for a wash & blow-​dry, $ 10 for a trim, $ 8 for deep condition
— She didn’t get my hair as straight as possible with the blow-​dryer, granted it was straight but I know it could have been straighter.
— She followed up the blow-​dry with a flat iron and I let her because I wanted my hair to be straighter. I realize they do it to fight the Houston humidity but I still hate it.
— its hot in there. I realize there are dryers and blow dryers but there were literally only like 3 customers in there.
— She cut off more hair than we initially agreed on

I had a great experience — deep condition, roller set, blow out, trim and pin curls. Good customer service generally and it seemed pretty efficient. I assume the day I went was busier than normal (New Year’s Eve) but they were the very accommodating and I got done in less than 3 hours despite a bit of a wait.

My daughter has been here numerous times and loves the blowouts. Mayra is fantastic. Really fast, and wayyyy cheaper than the other up-​and-​coming dominican salon that’s out in Katy. Location is okay… but I’m not a fan of the North side. Wish you guys were closer in the loop; we’d be there every weekend!

Very timely! I was accommodated as soon as I walked in. Lydia did my blowout and deep condition. She was very nice and gentle and also showed me how to recreate a style she did on my type 4A hair. I we definitely be coming back! I trust them with my natural hair.

I went into this salon today and received the best blowout ever by Mayra. This was my first Dominican blowout, but I was treated very kindly and received professional service. My hair looks fabulous!!! I will definitely return.

My daughters first professional hair straightening. I have to say this was a very pleasant experience. Ana did her hair and she works fast, we where there for 3 hours but my daughter hair as you can see has really long full hair. She was the only one there on a Sunday but we where there at 9:30am and left about 12:30 pm which really isn’t bad considering that sitting under the dryer is an hour alone. They recommend the deep conditioning and she also got a trim. All in all we are pleased. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My experience today at M– Dominican Salon was wonderful. Ana was great and my hair stylist for today, Janet was great also… This salon is great customer service, friendly, professional and great hair stylist. I will recommend this salon to family and friends… The Dominican Blowout had my hair looking and feeling beautiful, in fact all clients that left the shop look beautiful… The best salon ever!!!

First timer. My daughter is mixed and I have never straightened her hair. We had a wonderful experience today. Thank you! I will be taking her once a month for a blow out now!!!

I was looking for a Dominican salon in my neighborhood and I came across this place and I decided to try it out in good faith. It’s in a shopping mall on bingle not hard to find at all. No bells and whistles but they get the job done. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
My hair is close to 4A texture and it was silky straight when Josline did it. She did a good job.
My second visit on the other hand wasn’t as good. I opted for the pin curls rather than the bone straight look and I felt too much product was sprayed on my hair it felt harsh.
Next time for a quick and easy pop in, I will stick with the bone straight– less heat less product.
Overall experience was good.

Very pleasant experience overall ! My stylist was great. Everyone was very polite and professional. I’ll definitely visit again. I was in and out in about 1.5 hours. =)

Went back to m dominican for a Saturday 9 am appointment. When I got there no one was there. I value my time and so this was kind of a deal breaker for me. I had no issues with my hair service the last time I went-​my hair was gorgeous. If you go here my recommendation would be to go ½ hours after they open or not close to their last appointment of the day.

Awesome experience… I will definitely go back. My feels and looks great!!!
