Food is 4 stars. Service is a half star(they at least acknowledged us when we walked in) it’s beyond slow. I would only come back if I had a few hours to burn and no other plans that day.

Food is good, but service is horribly slow. Came on a Sunday at 12:30, barely anyone in the restaurant, yet it was still really slow to get our food.

Food is great but the service… oh my! It’s always slow and the wait for food is long… I’ve been at both the old and new location… So if you have time and don’t mind waiting for 15 minutes for just a drink order than enjoy

Macondo is a cute little place in downtown. I used to always go to their other location, but they just moved recently down the street to another location. Not sure why. My favorite menu on the item are the Colombian Empanadas. The stuffing is beef/potato with a corn something on the outside. As you can see, I’m clearly not an expert with the ingredients. But it tastes soooo good! You squirt some lime into it and add some of the green salsa on top. I’m obsessed. The order comes in 3 pieces. I usually share this and since everyone I take loves it so much we make sure to split the third piece! They keep me coming back because of their empanadas. The maduros(sweet plantains) are yummy. I tried tacos once and they were alright. My favorite is «La Isla» — marinated thin skirt steak on a bed of rice with lentils/veggies in it(now it’s just rice — they seem to change the base rice so often I get confused). Comes with maduros or tostones and red pickled onions on top the beef. Pretty good! There’s also a shredded beef appetizer, the Ropa Vieja, that is pretty good. Arroz con pollo is average. If you’re Colombian, I’ve heard the Bandeja Paisa is pretty good. Overall, I like this place. The new location is bigger than the old place and the décor is cute. GETTHEEMPANADAS! You won’t regret it. Add a squirt of lime and green salsa to each bite and you will love it. Come here for brunch on the weekends. During the week they close early. I don’t understand their schedule. Call them and ask just to make sure if you’re going at an odd time. It also seems like they keep bumping up the prices. I’ve been coming on/off for the past 2 years and the menu prices just keep going up(kinda annoying).

Absolute RIPOFF! I decided to order Togo from here to satisfy my craving for Colombian food. I looked at their menu online and ordered 4 bandeja paisa which were priced at $ 8. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order the total came out to $ 59, now I’m no mathematician but I’m pretty sure that’s not $ 8 a plate, so when I asked about the price difference I was told i was looking at an old menu. Whatever I hate confrontation and I was starving so I just left. The food was horrible, watery beans and bland rice… definitely not authentic Colombian food. The portions are super tiny, it can halfway feed one person. No wonder there was one person in the restaurant at 12:30 during lunch downtown. YALLSUCK! get it together. I will not be coming back, ever and will definitely tell my frienda about this place.

I am so excited that Macondo Latino Bistro has re-opened. They are right around the corner from their old location
