Went here once and it was good. Went to take my husband here at 10:05 on a Saturday when they were supposedly open. However door was still locked. Then a gentlemen opened the door and told us they wouldn’t be opened until 10:30 or so. Consistency is key, and you should always be opened when you say you are.

Just walked out manny’s café after having two bites of my gyro. It all started by ordering two gyro combo’s with with a Greek side salad instead of fries and a *TINY* hummus appetizer. As my boyfriend and I are ordering(presumably) manny himself was screaming/barking orders to his elderly bus boy. Humiliating the poor guy in front of the restaurant. We order not knowing the price because ZERO prices are posted on the written menu on the wall… Our total being $ 33 we were both confused as to how two gyros and side salads and humus was possibly $ 33. Well manny doesn’t give you itemized bills either so being totally in the dark as how our bill came to be so much we asked for an itemize bill. Manny starts screaming at us yelling how this isn’t mc Donald’s and the days of eating at mc Donald’s prices are over. He takes $ 33 dollars out of his register and slams it on the table. At this point I just get up and walk out take the $ 33 he slammed on the table. Hopped in my car and drove two min down the road to ET craft burger and had a burger, fries, and two beers for $ 25. Bye manny. Won’t ever be back. Copperfield/cypress residents. Don’t support this guy. He’s abusive. A scam. And dishonest. What kind of guy screams at his customers just because we asked to see some prices? Why don’t you have prices posted manny? Where’s my itemized bill manny? Seems fishy! Oh and that random little menu you pulled out of no where by the silverware. Try putting it up by the register if you want to avoid awkward situations that provoke people to write nasty reviews about you. Much love.

I love gyros and fries. Fries is made when order so hot and fresh. Doesn’t look great from the outside and hard to see. But it’s right behind Carl’s Jr. Food is great

I was craving a gyro and delighted to find this little place just down the street from home. We walked in an were greeted warmly by the owner, who chatted with us the entire visit and made us feel very welcome. We ordered gyros– one traditional and one chicken. I had the traditional and it was SO tasty! Chock full of so much meat that I actually had to pull about half of it off and share. Perfectly seasoned and well-balanced flavors. Definitely going back and trying the fire fries next time!

Food was overall pretty good. Very pricey over $ 10 a plate but portions are large and you will definitely take a to go box. Hummus starter wasn’t worth it. Store hummus is better. Both gyro plate and club are great choices. Service was very poor. What appeared to be the owner is very disrespectful to his employees. There was a very hardworking veteran cleaning up and he did not treat him very nicely at all. I think we’ll pass going back.

Located Manny’s from the high rating on Unilocal while visiting Houston. Upon entering, the owner explained the menu and asked me what I was looking for and recommended the gyro. We engaged in conversation and we ended up taking about how to make home made hummus(the fresh way) step by step. I was meeting with an employee for lunch and we stayed about 90 minutes, in which we(owner) and myself continued talking. Great guy! Two thumbs up for food and personality.

Manny’s is a clean place with good food. The owner is very personable and friendly. Just had a gyro, but his Tzatziki sauce was excellent. Best of all locally owned and run. We need to support businesses like this one or we are doomed to Applebee’s and mc Donald’s. My family and I will be return customers.

The service wasn’t the best. I felt left out. I noticed they have regulars and they greet them with such warmth, but when my boyfriend and I went in. we felt like we were taking up their time and space. Their gyro and baklava weren’t the best… I’ve had better. Didn’t feel welcome at all. Won’t be coming back.

BEST greek place in cypress! almost as good as NIko Niko. My favorite is the gyro platter. It is refreshing to have a local owned ethnic food place on the fast food wasteland of highway 6 :)

If you’re in the mood for a gyro this is for sure a good stop for Greek on this side of town. This is a nice small neighborhood café and don’t expect to be waited on here. The few times I have come Manny has been here and overall the staff is very friendly. So I give them a star for service. You will for sure to be greeted and taken care of promptly. You can expect to stand in line and maybe wait a bit. You will place your order and pay at the counter. You also will get your own drink from the fountain so no waiter here. They could give the tea and drink fountain area a bit more attention and have it wiped down more often considering that the customers are getting their own drinks and some parents seem to think its ok for kids to help themselves. Your food will be delivered to your table when it is ready. I do like that you can see towards the open kitchen and take a peek while they make your food. I have now come here a few times for the Gyro both dine in and to go. They don’t hold back on the portion of meat used for the gyro so if you like meaty you won’t be disappointed. Oh and the pitta used for the gyro is always warm and fluffy. I even tried the baklava on my last visit and considering I don’t care for sweets it wasn’t bad and would order it again. So this is for sure, my to go spot for a gyro.

I ordered a gyro combo and spanakopita. The spanakopita filling had a very nice light dill flavor and the phyllo was tender and crisp. The gyro was probably one of the best I’ve had since moving back to Texas. The reason I can’t give Manny’s any higher than 3 stars is I was really disturbed by the way the owner was talking to the staff. He was chewing them out LOUDLY, threatening their jobs, just generally being really demeaning. If his grievance is they’re not doing their jobs, I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t try hard either if my boss barked at me like that where customers can hear. It’s a shame, because the food is great, but I don’t want to support a business that treats its staff like that.

I am huge fan of Manny’s Café — everything says LOVE! I am a regular at Manny’s since it opened… I have their cappuccino, dolmades, spread combo and the pasta toscana — YUM! My daughter and hubby are fans of the gyros and fire fries. Just a great family place with a good sense of food.

Really good gyros. Having come from Chicago I’ve missed having gyros down in Houston. Meat was good, just the right amount of tomatoes and onions. To top it all of, the sauce was great, and they mix it in so your not trying to spread it yourself and missing a lot. Smart man to put the onions and tomatoes on the bottom. Great gyro, and I will definitely be coming back!

When you need a greek fix– the food is awesome with big servings. Just a little pricey– gyro and fries with drink and half order of hummus for lunch $ 18 ouch– but when you need it…

What an adorable place. As soon as you walk into Manny’s you know that you are in the presence of people who have great taste. This café is cute from the decorations, to the menu, to the framed photos of employees and patrons on cute little shelves. The menu is pretty easy to tweak a bit, after all, it’s local and they can do things how you ask. I got the gyro platter with the greek salad — no pita. I was totally amazed by the service and the food. The gyro meat itself was moist, seasoned perfectly and in OVER abundance. I brought home so much of it. The tzatziki sauce was delicious. The side salad was also huge. I wasn’t able to finish it either. But it was also very fresh and tasty. I love this place. We went during the day time for lunch and there were quite a few people in there, but not overly crowded. It felt like a bunch of regulars. I even saw Manny himself and it made me love the place even more. He’s the most authentic guy, exuding happiness. If I wasn’t on a diet, I would have lost control over the dessert case. They also had a wide variety of coffees and delicious looking drinks. Do yourself a favor and check Manny’s out. I can’t imagine that you would be anything but grateful after leaving!

Summary– Pretty darn good greek food with great service/personality included. Food– 4 Stars We ordered a big chunk of the menu. Tzatziki was good, a very creamy version. Needed to come with more Pita. Dolmades were just OK. Spanakopita was decent. Gyro Platters were very good although it’s not housemade Gyro meat. Horiatiki salad was very good, really great dressing. Manny’s Fire Fries were excellent. Service– 4 Stars When we were there it got very busy and slow for the people that came in after us. Manny is hilarious and provides a nice running commentary. You order at counter and they bring the food out. Value– 4 Stars Good food prices seem about right. Atmosphere– 3 Stars Kinda your average take out joint inside. It’s very clean.

We are first timers today. I think the friendly guy who greeted us was Manny. The food tasted fresh and made to order. I was craving Greek food and wanted to find something in the area. We ordered. 2 appetizers and 2 sandwich combos(w/fries and a drink) $ 38. I ordered a Philly sirloin cheesesteak inside a pita. The beef was moist and flavorful! The onions, bell peppers and mushrooms inside my sandwich were cooked perfectly. The serving size surprisingly was generous. The fries seemed like they were frozen store bought. but cooked nice and were not greasy but lacked any seasoning/salt.(they give more fries at Niko Nikos. I love the ones from Niko Nikos which are seasoned and taste freshly cut). My hubby got the gyro cheesesteak and said that the bite of my food was moist compared to his(the beef had more flavor). I really enjoyed the Greek meatballs served with yummy tzatziki sauce for dipping. I didn’t not care for the pastry spinach feta appetizer I ordered. It was airy but I was expecting more feta and moisture inside the pastry. Will back to try other foods!

It’s a great fix for when I’m not in the mood to go into town. My all time favorite comfort food is greek food and I absolutely love gyros so I’m glad that it’s 10 minutes away from my house. Food is great but kinda on the pricey side for being in the suburbs. I think if it was a little cheaper then I would give more stars. But maybe that’s just me. I do however like the fact that it is close to home and if I’m ever in the mood for greek food, I know that there is a greek restaurant down the street. Food overall is great and I love that it’s close to home.

I’m so glad I checked this place out after reading all these great reviews about this café! When I first walked in with my bf. I saw an old lady that some people have mentioned in their reviews. She didn’t seem friendly and definitely didn’t greet us with a smile. Anyways, I went on ahead and ordered an Iced latte, Spanakopita, Gyro Club, and the Mannys Philly cheese Gyro. When I told the old lady I wanted the Gyro club she asked if its just for the two of us. I said, no it’s for myself she judged me so hard with her eyes and attitude. I didn’t mind the eyes and attitude too much until I said I was also ordering the Philly Gyro. I smiled and had to tell her, «no worries I’m sure we won’t finish and will be taking home whatever we don’t finish». Gyro Club– IT’S A BIGMEAL. This plate feeds 2 people! No wonder, the old lady judged me for ordering it for myself! I couldn’t even finish this plate. Rating was a 4⁄5. Manny Philly Gyro– The boyfriend loved it! The pita bread is sooo soft with lots of meat. It was cheeesy and mixed with lots of goodness with caramelized onions and mushrooms. Rating was a 5/5, it was amazing! Spanakopita– I read the description and thought it would be filled with spinach and creamy feta. I couldn’t taste the feta. All I could taste is the spinach and flaky crust. It was an okay appetizer dish. I wouldn’t order this again, but it was worth to try it for the first time. I felt as if I was eating a pastry filled with just spinach. It tasted bland to me. Rating for this was 2⁄5. I knocked a star because the old lady forgot that I ordered an Ice latte and I didn’t get a friendly vibe from her. I got my latte after my whole meal was finished. I think it was Manny himself when I asked about my latte and he apologized. On the way out, my bf tipped and the old lady finally smiled and told us to have a great day. I hope she would smile more. She looks grumpy without a smile on her face. Overall, I enjoyed my first time experience at Manny’s. I would definitely return!
