this is the best ice cream I have ever had. I can’t see why they’re rated so low. the only bad thing is that it is a little pricey, but this was justified after we couldn’t stop talking about how it was the best ice cream we’ve ever had. they mix the ice cream with your toppings by hand in front of you, from which ever flavored you choose and which ever toppings you choose. absolutely amazing.

I feel bad for this Marble Slab location — with employees like the ones I experienced, I am not sure how much longer they will have with their customers. I went there once, after being hooked on marble slab(never had it before Jan 2015) and was expecting the same kind of positive and friendly experience. I ordered the small birthday cake, and before I could tell the server my mix-ins he put it in the up and handed it to me. So I looked at him as asked about mix ins, he then took the ice cream out and dumped it on the board. I requested cookie dough, waffle crisps and caramel which he repeated but then, he placed in waffle crisps, oreo cookies and before he put in the caramel, I stopped him and reminded him that I requested cookie dough. He sullenly looked at me and dumped the ice cream out. He then quickly made the correct order, rung me up and disappeared in the back of the room. I was really not impressed by his demeanor, if you do not want to deal with people, then get another job. Two stars because the ice cream was good, I did not ask for fruit, so I can’t comment on it. Now I go to every other Marble Slab(Wesleyan and past S Gessner) instead of going to this location.

I just left there, I won’t go back! I ordered a waffle bowl with sweet cream, almonds and pineapple. The pineapple is spoiled– had this craving for icecream, go pay $ 16 for two bowls and they give me spoiled pineapple! NOTCOOLMARBLESLAB! Second time this happens!

best coconut and cinnamon icecream. just a little over priced for the waffle cones … but I was still in heaven.

This is an unfortunate Marble Slab location. I read the bad reviews about this but took a chance anyway, having a car load of kids and not wanting to keep them waiting while I search for a better place. True to the other reviewers’ experiences, we were given good ice cream with stale cones and even staler toppings, by an almost comically sour-faced little man. After charging me for six ice creams and serving us five of them, grumpy guy wanted more money for the missing unit. Even after I provided my receipt for six, he continued to visually scan the children for, I presume, an ice cream hidden in their clothes. This guy is definitely in the wrong line of work. No one to blame but me for this occasion though, I was warned!

I ate here and I got some blueberries with my sundae and the blueberries looked like raisins. They were expired. I didn’t notice until I tried one. I told the manager and she told her employee to change them out. She didn’t even apologize. Not coming back here again.

Went there again last weekend, the shorter Hispanic guy – same sour face. What’s the deal man? I had some Groupon coupon and this location is included, and yet when I came there he said they don’t take Groupon. I plan to complaint to the headquarter and to Groupon. Good ice cream though, that’s the only reason I even bother to come back.

Every time I come here I end up leaving thinking I could have fed 5 people at Yogurtland(or similar) for what I paid– with better ingredients, and more friendly staff. Yes, I know it’s ‘real’ ice cream vs frozen yogurt but I just leave with a light wallet and a belly ache after. 14 dollars for 2 specialty concoctions? Pffft. Also the people here are always so surly; I have never ever seen any of them smile. Meh.

In a short stint in Houston, I visited friends who lived near Houston Hobby Airport. If my friend had not pointed it out that Southwest Airlines flies to Houston Hobby, then I might have not have considered it. And as such, I got my wish and got to stay with my friends and their clingy dog. One of the stops I made while playing tourist is coming to Marble Slab Creamery after a hard workout at the 24 Hour Fitness that was basically around the corner on San Fiepe Blvd. The store setup was basically what most, if not all, ice cream parlors have come to be known as. The weather was already warm as he’ll, so I just needed to cool off a bit with some ice cream goodness. The service could be a bit better, but after all, it was just ice cream. Can just get a pass on the disgruntled attitudes and the blah atmosphere that can be overcome with good ice cream. While I wouldnt be caught dead inside this place, since I am a Cold Stone Creamery whore, it wasnt so bad that I was here just to sample flavors ie chocolate and it’s hybrids and enjoy the differences between Cold Stone and everyone else. I did the basic chocolate, so it was good for me without having to fool around with complexity and weird flavor combinations. The chocolate cone I got was average, so nothing really to scream a happy tear for, but it was ok and flavorful. Just like chocolate, nothing more or less. So, Marble Slab Creamery is cool for what it is. Good stuff in here. If you just need that sugar rush, come here and get your fix on! Recommended for ice cream and chocolate lovers, but for me, the preference would have been Cold Stone, but open to other ice cream shops just to get the variety I probably need. Plus, prices are cheaper here and other ice cream parlors versus Cold Stone Creamery. I fail to realize this. Support local! B

Sweet Cream and Rum topped with Reeses, Butterfinger and Chocolate Sprinkles in a chocolate waffle bowl! YUM!!! After visiting on a busy Friday night I am sold. There was one person working that night and he was very patient with me being so indecisive. He let me taste the variety of flavors from Pistachio to Birthday Cake. The Slab has soooo many different toppings to choose from like coconut, almonds, even white chocolate syrup. i will most definitely be back on a summer day. They also have patio seating here.
