Terrible service. The two female employees that were there had barricaded the door by 9:25 p.m. online and on the window it stated that they close at 10 p.m. the door was still unlocked and I opened it and ask them if they would serve us and they completely ignored me they turned away another man that was in a blue car as well as another truck with four other potential customers. I asked them their names and the one hesitantly said their names were Jocelyn and Angela the employee with the gauged ears that was a little more heavy set was especially rude. they had to turn down at least seven customers in the five or six minutes we waited and try to see if they would serve as ice cream I’ve been a customer of the location over on Holcombe and Buffalo Speedway for over15 years but after such a terrible experience with such rude employees this evening I think I’ll get my business to coldstone or some other company it’s such an absolute disappointment to see that there are people like this that will just do whatever they want and be lazy when I’m sure that the management would rather them be making them money and pleasing the customers

Arrived at the store at 9:30pm on a Sunday to find the two employees in the store had already barricaded the door and decided to close down. The store hours were very clear that the closing time was 10pm. I tapped on the window and the employees did not respond. After a few taps they looked at me but continued to pack up. There were four other customers wanting to get in as well. I would be surprised to learn that the owners were okay with losing out on this business.

When I came in the ice cream was all melted and my toppings tasted off. The heath bar was soft and soggy. Also they didn’t have any to go containers. I couldn’t even finish the ice cream I purchased. I’m not sure what’s going on here but I’ll make sure to skip this specific marble slab.

I guess it’s good for kids, the size is large. About $ 4 for kids cup w one topping. I’m not a big icecream fan, I love FROYO… but kids happy so that’s what it’s all about!

I recently visited Marble Slab Creamery for the first time with a lot of anticipation. You see, my initial attraction was the fact that they’re one of the few independent stores that make a Baked Alaska. Their website claimed that this item could be prepared on demand and all they needed was 15 minutes advance notice. Sadly I was disappointed because on a rainy Thursday evening when I visited, they couldn’t deliver. A server volunteered to call the owners especially to make this for me but with how busy it was and the time and reluctance it took for them to make that offer I decided to postpone my order to another visit. I ordered a scoop of ice-cream and tried to make myself feel better. The ice-cream was alright; it didn’t blow my mind. It did make me reconsider returning for the Baked Alaska. Do I give them another chance? Probably but they’re too out of my way.

Chocolate Chip cookies as big as your face, for a buck each… but they taste like they’ve been deep fried!

Okay, spoke with a gentleman by the name of Eugene and he offered a replacement cake. On one hand I am tickled pink and on the other I am just disappointed. This was a special occasion and I can’t go back in time to fix it. I was able to vocalize the frustration I felt in ordering and and not being understood. I am four starring this review because at least I did get a call back and Eugene really seems to want to fix this.

Gosh, I don’t know. Walked in twice on two totally different occasions and was ignored both times… I was the only customer. Employees all in deep conversations with each other… both times I walked out with out buying anything. I gave it two shots… I just like to be greeted and made to feel non-intrusive. Call me a baby.

I’d heard of Coldstone Creamery before moving to TX– we had those in Chicago, although I’d only ever been there once.(Chicago weather means short, short window of ice cream being appealing each year, IMO). My ability to mix chunks of birthday cake into birthday cake flavored ice cream made it fairly memorable, although I was a bit incredulous about the whole«mixing my ice cream on the counter with a spatula» thing. I mean, I worked in an ice cream shop for three years during highschool, and as some say in Chicago: «that don’t be clean». But whatever– Marble Slab(a less appealing name than ‘Cold Stone’), allowed me to bring my dogs into the shop, which meant Jim and I could actually stand and browse flavors at the same time. They were out of cake batter ice cream(Khaaaaaan!), so I put together the dubious combination of peppermint ice cream(mmm), oreos(mmm), and peanut butter cups(?!) Jim got another flavor I desperately want to try– cinnamon(we had that at my old job– and it was my favorite with some chocolate jimmies on top). Ice cream was… fine. Nothing overly special, apart from some of the cool flavors. This shopping center is desolate. Maybe it needs a Washateria to help bring in the crowds. ;) Barring something local and interesting, I’m voting for the vacant building next to the Shlotsky’s to either be an Olive Garden(hmm space too small), an Applebee’s(meh, but I their side order sampler makes me nostalgic), a Chipotle(for Jim), or a really big Jamba Juice.

We remain baffled as to which came first, Marble Slab, or Cold Stone. We don’t have either back East, and so both are new to us. This location is in a vast, sprawling plaza next to Post Oak just south of the junction with the corner of I-610 where it shifts from north/south to east/west. A significant amount of the plaza is vacant which gives it a very surreal atmosphere. Maybe I’m behind the times, but I feel like ice cream has gotten very expensive to buy this way, one scoop at a time. So I probably shouldn’t complain about the prices, because I think I do that everywhere, at this point. I must confess to being a bit confused by this whole cold slab, marble stone idea with the mix ins. It works so much better with soft serve without ending up with a dessert that’s already half melted. But if you’re near this location they are very friendly, the store is neat and clean, and the service was quick. I had the cinnamon ice cream and it really tasted like cinnamon. Hard to beat that, I guess.
