I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years and I’ve left happy every time. Marina is really sweet and I’ve had at least three different beauticians. My Spanish may not be the best and neither is there English but when it comes to hair they know how to get the job done. Don’t judge a book by its cover it’s not the fanciest place but the quality is good

Wonderful place! They do a great job and have nice service. I have super kinky hair, but they always do a great job at giving me the perfect blowout. It is sometimes hard to communicate with them, but they always have about 2 staff members there that can help. Walk ins are acceptable as well. :)

Awesome service by Maria Rosanna(Stylist) and the rest of the salon’s administrative staff! Just FYI — not everybody that works here is Dominican; there mixed nationalities. I came in for a relaxer, roller-set, and blow-dry. Rosanna was great, caring, professional, down-to-earth, understanding, and communicative. She set expectations and the wait time was fair(not long at all). She was with me every step of the way asking me about my hair preferences. The ONLY reason why I give it 4 stars(and not 5) is b/c of their high prices. Coming from NY, it’s way too expensive but of course kinda expected in Houston. They’d make more money and have even MORE regular customers if they drop the prices. The salon reads«Anai’s Beauty Salon» outside in display(but it’s Marina’s).

DON’T do it! 1 dryer, 2 hours just to get under it. I sat and waited for my hair to be rolled, it was partially dry because she took so long, here comes the spray bottle! I had to tell her not to wet my hair anymore because it was going to be soaked and I don’t want to be under the dryer for an hour. Too late!!!# my hair is fre@kin soaked!!! Tried not to look mad but I am not to successful at that. Being from N. Y has nothing to do with my disappointment, I’ve been to Dominicans hair salons in several states outside of N.Y. G. A, T. N, N.J. They really need to get it together here at Marinas. INvest in ur Business or this place will never be successful. Welp N. Y Dominican salon next time. I’ll review hopefully it will be good.

I really wish I had done better Unilocal research before I went here. My experience was mediocre. My hair is natural, shoulder length and thick. They told me $ 40. I was tired and didn’t feel like doing it myself after removing my extensions so whatever. I’m normally accustomed to paying $ 25 back home but it is what it is. One girl washed my hair twice and left conditioner in for about 3 minutes. Only 3 mins. Then another lady named Margarita came and sprayed my hair with the nozzle once over my hairline and began towel drying me. She then asked me to have a seat at her station. I had to stop her like ma’am there is still conditioner in my head. No way. They don’t speak good English and the one who normally translates for them stepped out for a few. She didn’t understand what I was saying and took me back to the bowl for another shampoo. Smh. & she was on crutches. When I sat down I noticed her parting my hair in sections to blow dry not roller set. This was odd. Most shops I’ve been to do that first and then round brush the blowout. I asked why she didn’t use rollers and she said my hair was too short. Smh I have an above the shoulder line length bob. & if the prices vary by length why am I being charged this much? I didn’t want to be a burden so I just went with the flow. Once she finished burning my scalp she pulled out the flat irons. What’s the point of me coming here for a blowout? I could’ve washed and flat ironed my hair at home. I’ve never used flat irons at a Dominican salon. The blowout gets it straight enough so there’s really no need. They also use to much product. She sprayed and oiled like every section. My edges were still frizzy but like I said I was disappointed with the results by then so I just took the L. I made a suggestion about my concerns when I paid but I don’t plan on returning. & I honestly hate to seem like a pest. At least my hair was clean and I could feel my scalp. Gotta find something positive out of it right?

I finally found a place to get my hair done that is not outside the beltway. Marina’s is not a fancy salon but it was clean and they had all the tools. i even saw Mary Kay for sale on the shelves. My stylist, Margarita, did a great job on my hair. She was no nonsense and worked fast. Suffice to say your hair WILL be straight by the time you leave. I was the first person there as a walk-in and they opened right on time. The location says Anai’s beauty salon but apparently they have changed owners. The owner took my name and number to let me know when they have specials which I always attribute to good customer service. I will definitely be going back!

**Under New Management** This location is less than 10 miles away from me. I still drive to Katy to get my hair done by my favorite hair stylist(check my review for DBS to find out more) but I’m glad I can count on a second hair stylist that’s closer. Margarita is my hair stylist here and she does a good job. I like how you can call and make an appointment or walk-in. I recommend calling ahead if you don’t want to wait. I recently got a color done and it came out great. The price for color is higher than DBS but it was worth it. They do need to work on the appearance of the hair salon. It needs plenty updating. I’m glad I stumbled across their ad on Craigslist. I can see this salon doing very well in the future.
