The food was okay. The veggies are crisp and we’ll seasoned but the meat is lacking a bit of flavor. Overall it’s an okay taco place.

We found this place when we moved to the neighborhood. My favorite is the brisket taco. They serve breakfast tacos all day which is excellent. They told us its not a chain, which is nice. They also have a veggie taco for the vegetarians. Friendly and fast service!

Overall, delicious. I had 3 tacos and enjoyed all of them on corn, with fresh ingredients. I would say the buffalo & bleu one was a bit unique tasting on the buffalo front, not my favorite. But there are enough other tasty alternatives and breakfast tacos. The guac and queso dip were great with housemade chips. Service was excellent and the décor fun and inviting. I hope to return.

We have eaten here twice in the last two weeks and while the food was good, we have yet to receive a correct order. We support local business as best we can, but if they are not able to provide the items we requested, it makes it tough to go back. The breakfast tacos are good and the ingredients are fresh. A great place that could become a memorial legend if it tried a little bit harder.

Mas Taco at 1:45 on a Saturday, and there’s a steady stream of people through the door and a line at the register. Why? Because the food and the prices are just that good. The chili rubbed pulled pork is flavorful and moist, and the brisket is smoked in-house… BONUS: They serve the ENTIRE menu ALL day, EVERY day. Yes, you can have breakfast tacos for dinner and lunch/dinner tacos for breakfast. The highlights of our lunch:

Nice mom and pop restaurant/hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered the shrimp taco and brisket taco. Decent size portions, but there hot sauce isn’t as spicy as I’d like for it to be. Everything is fresh and made upon ordering. A reasonable price is always a plus in my book! Next mission is to order and try out the breakfast taco.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone the service was horrible the young lady was on the phone as I placed the order 4 Tacos she only gave me two. Got home and the tacos taste so salty and overcook it was the worst tacos I’ve had in 2015!!!

This place is ridiculously good. The tacos have a very Austin feel to them. These are not traditional tacos and nachos, but it is definitely worth a trip out to try them for yourself. I haven’t tried the breakfast tacos yet, but I have tried each of their regular menu tacos. If this is your first time out there you have to get the Chimichurri Steak Fajita taco; it is hands down the best thing on their menu. The service could stand to greatly improve, but their tacos make up for shitty attitudes.

Very good place for quick eats. Fish tacos are excellent. Nachos and guac are a bit underwhelming.

Has potential but it hasn’t met that potential. I got the fried eggplant veggie taco and my fiancé got chorizo, egg, and cheese tacos; we got them to go. My taco was slopped together and despite the fact that it was supposed to include avocado, there was on a teeny tiny sliver of a single piece; basically, the avocado was nonexistent. The person making my taco didn’t even bother to fully wrap my taco in foil before throwing it in the bag. I enjoyed the fried eggplant and generally think the ingredients for the taco were unique compared to this place’s obvious competitor and inspiration(Torchy’s). However it lacked much needed flavor. The same is true of their salsas. The food was just bland. Overall the ingredients were fresh and I’ll give them another try, but this place needs employees who care about their products and presentation and to add some flavor to their food before they’ll be in the same category to even compete with Torchy’s.

Well it is okay. I’m spoiled there is a taco truck on Hwy 6 near my job that is great! I visited Mas due to I was told the tacos are very good and I enjoy good tacos. I visited about 12:30ish on a Thursday and parking was not the greatest. I was able to find a spot but it was tight. As other reviews indicate it is a walk up and order restaurant and they bring the food to your table. To compare apples to apples I ordered what I order for my taco truck three fajita beef tacos with lettuce and cilantro, sauce on the side. I did throw in a fountain drink. The cashier said $ 14.90, I almost choked! These same tacos are $ 5 for all three on at the taco truck! I paid it because I wanted to taste a $ 5 taco. The tacos came out pretty quick and the cashier was very friendly. However, I’m going to stick with my taco truck. The tacos are not bad and the beef is pretty good. But did I taste $ 10 difference? No! The lettuce and cilantro was light. The sauce served with them is very good. It is your call with visiting, just be prepared to spend $ 4-$ 5 on a taco!

Breakfast tacos all day?! Yay! Came here for lunch and thought I’d try one breakfast and one lunch taco: — Chili Rubbed Pork, Egg, Cheese Taco: solid breakfast taco — Hickory Smoked Brisket: this one was delicious; probably my favorite between the two with the smokiness, pickles, cabbage slaw and other great ingredients Both came with a little red salsa container that complemented the tacos. Cute place, great flavors and reasonably priced. Could be good for groups(looks like you can move some of the tables around) and quick service.

Great tacos! I love this place. Today, my favorite cook(Mirta) is here and cooks everything with love. I believe she did some else in her prior career but, I’m glad she is a cook at this place so, selfish me, I know. She always has a smile on face and makes me feel welcome. Sam has a great asset(the cook) and a great product. I wish him success because I love this place. This place reminds of being in California and on vacation. The place is decorated like a beach side taco café. There chili rubbed pork, potatoes, eggs and cheese and the shrimp tacos are my favorite.

Good tacos! Not Torchy good but close. I absolutely loved the buffalo chicken taco /the buffalo sauce. I do believe its the most perfect buffalo wing sauce I have ever tried. Also tried pulled pork and brisket as well. It was all good. I expect all their Tacos to be good. Restaurant is clean. You may see people with«Sams Burgers» shirts on and this is because the owner owns Sams Burgers next door.(FYI) Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would go back. Only complaint is the chips and salsa. Another Mexican restaurant trying to kill the free chips and salsa custom. I really hate the pay more get less concept. Only way around it is to order the nachos and pretend the chips were free.

The location is a bit unexpected since the plaza is relatively small. I would suggest you to drive slow. The place is warm, I wouldn’t recommend you to come here with a sweater or cardigan, they really need some AC in this place. They have one vegetarian taco on the menu called the veggie taco(surprise). I think it has like shredded cabbages, eggplants, corn, and beans?(Unsure about the beans). They’re really nice about letting you chose if you wanted the eggplant fried or grilled. Since I got it grilled it just tasted really bland even though I drenched it in the sauce that they gave me. I wouldn’t say the overall taco was distasteful, it just needed a lot of condiments. Buddha, just skip the chips. The chips tasted awful. I’ve been here twice and I got both the chips with quac and this time with queso. I’m not sure why the chips tasted stale both times I’ve been there, but it’s hard to chew. I like the quac dipping more than the queso but both are incomparable to any Mexican places I’ve been to. My boyfriend got the fried shrimp taco and he really liked it. It’s not meant to serve vegetarians so don’t come expecting anything amazing. I think the option is there so that we’re not left out.(Appreciate the effort). I wouldn’t come here for tacos, I’d come here to keep people company as they eat theirs lol. Torchy’s still has my heart.

Okay so I wanted to try something new and I love doing so that this time I read Unilocalers! Reviews. Boy oh boy. Sometimes I don’t know if any of you out there actually mean what you say. Hmmm. Aside from the point. This joint was staked out for about 5 minutes before I got out of the car to head in. There were people just hanging out and about outside and I wasn’t sure if they worked there or not. Apparently they did because she opened the door for us, in which I was confused because I had no idea who she was. I did say ‘Thank you!’ Because it was nice gesture. :) We were still staring at the menu, because it was our first time. I felt rushed by the cashier who was hanging out as previously mentioned. Who didn’t look like she worked there at all. Apparently, the owners have cameras, but lack of organization for key points to success and professionalism. It also looked like the ladies in the kitchen were already cleaning up for the day and not ready to serve anyone. Felt like we were an inconvenience since they closed later in the evening and it was only 4pm. Okay so we ordered the Nachos with chimchurri steak fajita and a chimichurri steak fajita taco. The presentation was beautiful and looked amazing. The food and flavor were overall good BUT the meat could be a bit more tender. It was rubbery and slightly tough to chew. I was not okay with that. Atmosphere was short. I could definitely say that it was trying hard but not hard enough at decorating but I can say this that all the space in the restaurant was nice, because it was just us two. Felt super tropical in Mas Taco but a feel of seafood décor. Lol. I can’t deny the flavors were yummy, but maybe better grade meat? Also more professional staff would help. I liked the relaxed feel, but a little too laxed. I will be back for another go around in the future for a better tasting meat. Happy Eats!

We came for a quick lunch during the week. If you’re a fan of street tacos, as I am, you’ll enjoy this restaurant. Nachos with Chimichurri Steak Fajita: 3⁄5 — large portion of chips, but not enough toppings for all the chips. The beef is flavored nicely. Battered shrimp taco: 4⁄5 — the sriricha crema is a nice addition to the fried shrimp I liked that they layer the corn tortilla(if you choose corn vs. flour) so you’re actually able to pick up the taco. I don’t like restaurants that just throw on the toppings and you end up having to eat it with a fork because it gets too messy. They do it right here. We will definitely come back. Service was fast and friendly. Seating is limited, so come early.

This was my 1st time eating here. I was referred this place by one of my Unilocaler lunch co workers. I stopped in a while back to check it out and look at their menu. First you walk up to the counter and place your order and you are given a number. Then someone will bring your order to your table. It seems that they are made as you order. I had the ranch chicken taco with bacon and a jalapeño ranch dressing, it reminds me of the one that Chuy’s serves. I also had the shrimp taco and it comes with a sauce that i cant remember. They both have an option for corn or flour tortillas, I had the corn tortillas. They were very tasty and filling. I was filled after eating the two but i could have eaten one more if I wanted to. There wasn’t a long wait from the time I ordered and until I received my order. They have fountain drinks to quench your thirst. I am looking forward to returning to try out one of their breakfast tacos!

Hey how come this place doesn’t have 700 reviews yet like the one down the street? It looks like one of two things may have happened here, perhaps both; A) Since this appears to have only been open a few months, perhaps by the time I visited last week they worked out some kinks. B) Some of the reviewers here are obviously not qualified to judge a taco. Let’s focus on B) I am qualified. By using Brazos County Health Department reports I spent over 5 years eating at, photographing and documenting(and reviewing) every known taco ever served in College Station, Bryan and surrounding areas. Currently working on completing Waco. Ordered(2) tacos here at around 8 am, the Hickory Smoked Brisket, Egg & Cheese and the Chili Rubbed Pork Egg & Cheese. Service was quite friendly and sincere(a gem of a cashier that made me feel welcome) and the tacos were BADASS! I told her that when she asked. In fact what I didn’t know at the time is that the smoked brisket was in fact premium BBQ which I could still taste 4 hours later. That’s bbq. So,(2) tacos at about $ 8 was filling but I was so curious I went back and ordered two more. The Beef Fajita and the Fried Shrimp. Conclusion. No one can eat 4 of these. I struggled to finish 3.5. Second order was simple wonderful as well. The shrimp had an Asian tempura type batter that tasted like a Japanese /Chinese fusion on a Korean truck style taco. I’ve tasted this same batter someone in Houston(Chinatown) about 10+ years ago. Glad to know it still exists and where to find it. Ask for the red«Adobo» sauce to go with beef, and be careful it’s HOT! It appears as if they have two main types of sauces which are correct to match the recipes, and a rare red which blew my wife away on accident as she wasn’t expecting that heat punch. In summary I love this place and plan on coming back tomorrow. The owner Sam was apparently told by the cashier that I said the tacos were«Bad Ass» and I know what I am talking about ~ He came out and talked to me for a while which was really fun. Unilocal has this listed under the wrong category as «Mexican». This is not Mexican food nor has there ever been Mexican food like this. The foods I tried were Tex-Mex BBQ Fusion and Tex Mex Asian Fusion, for which there are no categories. So I will suggest that the categories be updated to reflect; Tex-Mex, BBQ, Asian Fusion as that is the best way to describe it. — The Taco Monster of the Brazos Valley
