I’d take the«A» out of the«A-OK» rating. They’re just ok. I’ve been a member for over five years. The really good massage therapists seem to eventually leave and move on. I’ve had decent massages the past few years, but only a few that really know how to work the muscles properly — some are just hard-rubbing cream smearers. The front reception area has an odd vibe and most of the front desk people seem to have that attitude that makes you feel unwelcome or ‘Don’t bother me now’ or ‘What do you want?’ They seem to hate their job.

How about go learn how to speak and treat clients over the phone Mrs. General Manager Katie Kesserling! Customer service 101! I have been a member at massage envy for a little over a year, although it is kind of like the«fast food» style massage facility but I don’t mind the monthly membership since I can use it anytime and any city in states. After a few months I decided to use one of my many sessions accumulated. I called river oaks to make an appointment. They put me on for a 90 minutes massage and I happily canceled a Saturday afternoon appointment with a client! In about 45 minutes I get a call that my appointment is canceled because two people were booking it at the same time and their system made an error! 1– why do I have to get canceled? 2– please accommodate me with either an equal or less credit to compensate me for my time and your mistake(refer to customer service 101!) Not only I wasn’t accommodated nor compensated I was also spoken to in a very aggressive tone and when I mentioned that I will right this review, I heard a loud tone telling me gaw’heah, then click!, while in no time during the conversation I disrespected or raised my voice! I guess we all get what we pay for! Cheap places can’t afford professionals they afford general managers well like«Katie». Don’t worry I am not holding this against you! Because obviously you just don’t know what being professional means nor you have had the training! So enjoy your mouthful title at massage envy, cause you won’t last a day at a high end spa!

Surely this is one of the worst run businesses in the Houston area. It’s extremely difficult to get time for a massage with them. For weekends, plan on booking several weeks out. Once you get there, there is no guarantee they will actually accommodate your scheduled appointment. My last weekend appointment was somehow«lost.» Maybe the over-booked, like the airlines? They offered another time late the same night, an appointment that mysteriously«disappeared» while I was discussing the matter. You will not get your money back when they mess up. I think the business model is to get people to sign up and make it so hard to schedule appointments that you give up, thereby paying them to do nothing each month. Think long and hard before you join. Maybe it’s just the River Oaks location. Their automation and staff training are both simply horrible.
