it’s that time of the year again where I begrudgingly admit that I’m as blind as a bat and need to get a new prescription for my contacts. I made an appointment with Master Eye Associates through ZocDoc based on the reviews I saw there and how close it is to where I work. Immediately after I made my appointment online, I got a call from their office asking me to confirm my insurance information. Once I arrived to the office, I just let them know that I had filled out my information prior to arriving on ZocDoc and I just waited until it was my turn to be seen. The girls in the front were really friendly and professional and I was seen in no time. Dr. Nguyen was awesome. He was really personable and kept a great conversation during the consult going. He knew exactly what I needed and we went straight into the exam and the contact fitting. I was out of the office pretty quickly with my prescription in hand. Asides from one snafu where I got overcharged accidentally(but the office called to let me know that they had overcharged me and were going to refund me) — I had a pleasant and hiccup-less experience here. If I end up staying in Houston longer than I expect to and well into next year, he may just be seeing me again for my annual eye exam.

So the place is nestled next to Vision works and Target in a shopping plaza. A little tricky to find because the sign isnt really visible til you get close. One con is that it took an hour and a half for my visit. I made an appointment at 10:30am and was out by noon which didnt include picking out glasses. They also take turn seeing patients and sending you back to the waiting room. I guess the last place I went to blocked out that hour of your appt time just for you so it took less time and no waiting. but everyone worjs differently. I give 4 stars because the doctor was professional, friendly, very nice, and explained everything in detail.
