Mathnasium of Kingwood

BE Aware, it’s a scam… wholesale math schooling with 1 kid teaching all others. We have 2 in 8^th & 11^th Grade that needed help in Math and joined Mathnasium on Kingwood dr at $ 100 fees & $ 300 for 8 hours each month. but after 3 month with deteriorating grades all the way down to failure! we realized Mathnasium hires unqualified kids as cheap/​free labor & encourage them to keep & use their Cellphones during teaching to look up or learn themselves what they need to teach our kids. Before an exam (last week) my son kept asking the so-​called teacher to help him without response; the kid instructor was on his cell phone the entire hour & my Son failed his next test, where he used to make better grades before this scam called Mathnasium. My child was not aggressive enough to tell the «kid Teacher» to stop texting & to answer his questions and was ignored for the entire hour while his teacher was busy Texting without any supervision. After his declining Math grades since joining Mathnasium and after calling and discussing the issue with the director/​owner of this miserable franchise Ms. Barbara; I realize they’re strictly after our Money but have Zero Care or interest in teaching. They have no care whatsoever if our children learn from their substandard unsupervised employees; as she strongly defended the use of cellphones by their ignorant teachers as a tool to look up answers the student might ask!!? I’m not sure if that’s her ignorance or arrogance? I understand she’s operating to make profits; however, a fair exchange is always the long term winning formula. This pretentious math Un-​School Director Barbara’s answer defending the use of cell phones as a tool for her teachers to look up answers shows her poor judgment in hiring, supervising and extreme level of incompetence. Don’t waste your Kids Time & Money taking them to that miserable, mismanaged, for profits ONLY Mathnasium. a Private tutor is cheaper & most importantly knowledgeable without needing Google. This is a shameful form of business designed to play on parents emotions & care for their kids. It should be regulated, monitored & reported. At about $ 40 an hour + $ 100 registration scam, for mostly alone time or with a teenaged teacher busy on cell phone running the entire business with several kids needing his/​her help. My son used to make better grades before this scam called Mathnasium. Mathnasium = Shame
