I have been with dr. mary karen matt for 7 years. She turned a disaster of a mouth into a beautiful smile to behold. Her work is outstanding and timely. I was recently fitted for a partial on a friday and two weeks later it was put in my mouth with dr. Matt personally fitting it. I will continue to be a patient for years to come.

I have to agree with the one star review. I would highly stay away from this clinic. Dr. Matt might be good at dentistry, but she is severely lacking in patient care. She is cold and phoney as a brick. Conversation with her is as mundane as how do you like the weather? She should go take a course on how to be a clinician. I have better conversation with the hygienists than with her. It was only recently after several incidences that I realized I need to seek a different dental clinic. I have been with this clinic for 5+years. From my initial visit, this clinic tries to push lot of unnecessary procedures not covered by insurance. Since I have not taken decent care of my teeth and had receded gum lines, I was offered lumineers, some laser gum treatment, and some other procedures totaling over $ 7000. To pay this off I was offered a GE health plan. I was also told that since I had excellent dental coverage I should get reimbursement as these procedures«should be» covered under insurance. From the five plus years, I have not receive a penny of reimbursement. Since that time, I rarely see the dentist unless she is trying to push some procedure not covered by insurance. For the past several years I only go here 4x/yr for dental/periodontal cleaning. The clinic is very chaotic as there is a high turnover as each time I go I would see a different hygienist or staff. What finally turned me off to this dental is because of several incidents. One incident occurred several months back. I had a regular cleaning appointment early in the morning prior to work. I had waited out side her clinic for over 45min to locked office. Later, an office staff showed up and realize that there was some error in scheduling even though I had responded through their automated email confirming appointment couple of days earlier. She apologized and offer compensation with next office visit. I made appointment a week later and had my cleaning. I was not offered any compensation. I chalked it up as no big deal. Recently, I had a dental crown that fell off. I made arrangement and had taken time off work to get this corrected. Just as I arrived to clinic, I was greeted by the receptionist and was told that Dr. Matt is in processing of leaving due to some emergency, despite that I had called 15 min earlier confirming appointment. I ask if I can speak to Dr. Matt for a quick question or two. Without any apology from the dentist, she snuck out the back. I expressed my displeasure with the staff and a tall, black man who was the accountant. He offered me that he would compensate me $ 100 for my troubles and will have a check readily available once I came in for my crown seating. We shook on the agreement. This past couple of week, I finally had my crown fixed and completed my usual teeth cleaning. I met Dr. Matt that day. Not once did she apologize for her inconsiderate departure. Granted I could understand emergency, a simple sincere apology would have suffice. I would get none from the dentist. After my procedures were completed, I approached the accountant about the agreed upon compensation. He states that since I have now incurred additional charges, I will have to wait until insurance pays out to get my $ 100 «courtesy reimbursement». This despite the fact all the time I’ve been with this clinic, I have never carried any balance and my insurance have always paid them 100%. What he said was that he misstated and now tell me to disregard previous conversation after he had discussed with Dr. Matt. In essence I was lied to and now thrown into waiting game to receive my compensation. Does the $ 100 mean much to me? No, but to be treated poorly multiple times, I will seek to get this reimbursed. I would highly stay away from this dental clinic if at all possible. A quick Google search will show that this clinic is poorly rated. Do not get suckered in by her Groupon or mailed flyer advertisement. There are plenty of dentists in Houston to go to than this the poor attitude dentist, poor customer service, and poorly managed clinic.

Went to Dr Matt and found the entire experience wonderful… not your typical dental visit. The team treated me kindly, I was impressed with how well they explained what I needed and the result I got was great. I have been looking for a dentist I can trust and I found it. Nothing but good things to say!
