Menil Properties

I have lived here for 3 years now, and my opinion of the place is mostly good. It is the only affordable living with reliable maintenance left in the Montrose area, and because we are by the museum we get the added bonus of good security. Some problems to be aware of: the buildings’ crumbling foundations make for screens that don’t fit in windows, which leads to huge bug problems; there is no pest control, so you’ll need to take that on yourself; and if your work allows you at all to stay home on weekdays, be ready to start being blasted with leafblowers, their gas, fumes, and dust, 5 days a week. In the summer, the leafblowers are out before the sun. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live here at a rate I can afford; however, the drawbacks keep me dreaming daily of when I’ll have enough money to get out of here.
